  2. The process is the same for Opera as it is for any other browser. Click the three dots in the top right hand corner next to the CCleaner logo, go to "Settings". Click "Import bookmarks and settings". Select your browser and profile.

  5. @Himeko @Melchior:Not abandoned. Quite the contrary, the version of Defraggler that is used as part of the CCleaner Cloud business product gets updated on a fairly regular basis. Plan was to fold those changes back into the consumer desktop product at the end of last year - but the release freeze we had bumped out the timeline. With 100x the users, CCleaner is always going to get more attention that Defraggler - but we're still looking to get a Defraggler update out later this year.

    That map is ... rather old. It is also missing Antarctica. Given that Alaska is part of the USA, that was probably an error in shading at the time it was made.

If you are having a problem with malwarebytes please start your own thread, or add to one of the other threads where people are having problems with AV companies being too short-staffed to keep their whitelists up-to-date at the moment,

  12. @MrMooreThe 3 machine licence gives a new licence key. If you buy it (under the same email address) within 90 days of your old licence expiring then after a few days the back-end systems realise your intention and stitch them together for you - adding the remaining time from your old licence to your new one (https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039530092-Will-I-lose-any-time-on-my-subscription-if-I-take-an-offer-to-renew-early-).   14. This happens from time to time - usually with 2nd and 3rd tier AV companies. The CCleaner user base is larger than the population of most countries. Most AV companies should respond promptly to multiple complaints of false positives from their customers (well ... promptly under normal circumstances - many may have their their operations disrupted by recent events). On the other hand, if your antivirus/internet security provider is consistently providing out of date protection, that is probably a bad sign and you may wish to consider an alternative AV.
  15. CCleaner's multi-pass delete will make file unrecoverable by software. Defeating physical forensic tools would be best achieved using physical methods. Fire would do the trick.
  16. To confirm, I am not sure who you contacted when you tried "contacting Piriform" but from your description of the experience that was not us. While we may suggest that you contact your hardware manufacturer for hardware-specific issues not relating to CCleaner, for example, we don't refer anyone to third parties. If you have dialed a tech support scam number and gave them access to your PC then I'd recommend removing anything that they installed on your PC and then giving it a thorough AV scan ASAP.
  17. That is the server that delivers some of the CCleaner content - the notifications but also some of the UI content ("IPM" is short for "in-product messaging"). I would not recommend blocking it or you do run the risk of breaking things (as you have observed)
  18. Note that you may also experience compatibility issues if you are emulating an older version of Windows when running CCleaner. For example, if you right-click your CCleaner desktop shortcut and select "Properties" you would want to make sure that the "compatibility mode" checkbox is cleared.

  22. We haven't forgotten about Speccy. The Speccy server was updated last year; and the Speccy client component that forms part of our managed endpoint product for businesses (CCleaner Cloud) has been regularly updated. The home and free versions of Speccy were scheduled for a refresh near the end of last year, but those were delayed (along with everything else) with the ~4 month freeze we had as we rebuilt our secure development and release environment. After we've caught up with CCleaner we'll be looking to get Speccy back on the to-do list again - along with Defraggler and Recuva.

  25. @mmerrick: Responses are generally same or next working day - although at the moment there's a bit of a backlog as we are onboarding a bunch of new staff, so responses have been delayed. There are quite a few customers with a similar situation (licence renewed but not extended) and we are fixing these in batches at the moment. .... aaaaand just as I am writing this, I can see that your licence key ending with K8MF has only just now been updated to expire in December 2020 instead of December 2019.
