  1. Was that the summer sale? You may have got the offer for expired users - which was supposed to say why you were getting it but instead went out with the same content as for the free users. DM me your serial key and/or registered email address and I'll check to make sure there's nothing else funny going on.
  2. Excellent! So that's a couple of long-standing user concerns taken care of - now back to working through the rest of the list.
  3. Installer screenshot below. Until we've properly integrated CCleaner Browser access into the CCleaner console, we're recycling the "third party offer" screens (even though it's a "first party" optional feature). The checkbox layout of those screens has never been particularly popular - but it's what we've got to work with until the new installer design with the yes/no layout is finished, hopefully only a couple of updates away. Still technically in preview while we iron out a few little kinks there are some goodies in there that make it worth a look - such as the native Adblocking, Anti-Phishing, Anti-Tracking (for sites that respect Do Not Track) and Anti-Fingerprinting (for the sites that don't). There's quite a few more features coming down the pipe over the coming weeks that should be of particular interest to folks interested in performance and privacy.
  4. Deep scan can take a long time on a heavily used drive. Did you see what you could recover on a regular scan first?
  5. On your PC do you have Adobe Acrobat installed? Or were you opening PDF files in a web browser? If the latter then opening up the PDF files should continue to display them in a web browser as usual?
  6. Yes it does - but for issues relating to both the free and paid product, mentioning it here (if it's not already covered in a previous post or in the product documentation or FAQ files) can benefit the rest of the community who may be looking for the same thing.
  7. The old Speccy server was quite an antique and was no longer coping with the load. It was still working but often required several retries ... at the right time of day ... holding your head just right at the time ... etc. We've finally shelled out the cash for a shiny new server, which just went live today - so uploading and retrieving specs should now all go smoothly again. We haven't forgotten about Speccy. There are a few Piriform products that have been overdue for a bit of love and attention. CCleaner Mac just had an update in June and should be getting another one a bit later this year. Defraggler, Recuva and Speccy are still on the to-do list, but are also planned for later this year - but with no firm dates inked yet.
  8. I am pleased to announce that the shiny new Speccy server is now finally operational! Uploading and retrieving specs should now be considerably faster and more reliable (ie: it should work the first time rather than requiring a half dozen retries). All of the old specs were migrated a few hours ago so it should be all systems go from here - but let us know if there are any further problems with the hosting server.
  9. Note that the shiny new Speccy server is now finally up and running as of this afternoon. Uploading and retrieval of specs should now be considerably more reliable. Timing for an update to the Speccy software itself still to be announced.
  10. @General Dogsbody in the meantime, for the benefit of others (since this seems to also be an issue that you were experiencing with the free version) can you post a screenshot of the error message? Also have you tried some of the recommendations here?
  11. Check your CCleaner settings. Sounds like you have checked the boxes to clear your browser passwords?
  12. Noted. We no longer have QA test environments set up for MacOS 10.6 and 10.7 (only 10.8 to 10.14, with 10.15 on the way). We'll get the various collateral updated to reflect that 10.6 and 10.7 are no longer supported on the most recent CCleaner Mac version.
  13. Firstly - thanks for your longstanding support of the CCleaner product! With regard to the upgrade popups - what CCleaner version number are you using? As per the recent post here the occasional discount promotions are only set to display a couple of times per event. Although some users may see more if they are on versions prior to 5.54, for users on 5.54 and above any problems with overdisplay of messages tend to be down to users blocking the setting of the "I've already seen this so no need to show it to me again" flag. Naturally it is not in our interests to overmessage users - if someone has said "no" to an offer, then as you might expect, asking the same thing multiple times in a row has massively decreasing returns. So we are interested to hear from anyone experiencing this who can provide additional details so we can isolate how it might have happened. CCleaner has had third party offers in the free installer since late 2010. As tedious as it may be to "no thanks" Chrome every 6 months and "no thanks" a third party AV/Security offer every 3 months it helps subsidise keeping CCleaner free for millions of users. It may seem a little cheeky of me to mention it in this context, so apologies in advance, but <obligatory plug> paying customers do get the automatic updates - which avoid the need to navigate through the download site and also bypasses the offers in the installer altogether ... and as you have 6 machines, you may interest you that Pro Plus, which covers 3 machines per licence, is also on 50% off at the moment https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/summer-sale. </obligatory plug>
  14. Indeed, official confirmation of @nukecad's response above: Users will receive a notification when a new version of CCleaner is released. These updates are free. Notifications can be switched off, but as with any software we recommend staying up to date with the latest version. Note that you are on the old version 5.46 which is now 13 versions out of date (https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/version-history). With the constant flow of updates to the software that CCleaner cleans, anyone running that far behind is likely to run into compatibility issues - and may receive occasional additional free update notifications relating to this. Offers to upgrade from free to Pro are infrequent, and only when there is a sale on. Sale periods generally run from 7 to 14 days, during which time a user may receive as many as 5 messages - but usually only 2 or 3. Some users on older versions were reporting that they were receiving messages daily during sales periods. This was fixed in version 5.54 and above. There would still seem to be a very small percentage of cases remaining but these are generally edge cases where a user has blocked the setting of the "I've already seen this so no need to show it to me again" flag. Also, as @nukecad observed, "CCleaner Free" is only available for home users. Businesses need to pay for CCleaner. That said, if you are trialing CCleaner in a business environment you may find that the proper managed endpoint versions of CCleaner for business would be more appropriate to your needs than the stand-alone version that you are currently using. DM me if you would like someone to get in touch with further information.
  15. Indeed. While we aim for the "out of the box" configuration and functionality to suit the majority of users, for the sake of sanity there's a point in the long tail of requests where we have to stop - so we've kept things reasonably open so that the user community can step in to handle the niche customisations they are passionate about. Typical disclaimers apply, of course, as with any third-party modifications to anything. Although we don't officially endorse winapp2, it's good stuff for those who need it.
  16. A few years back the devs got rather enthusiastic and added support for a host of niche browsers - including the Firefox forks Cyberfox and Pale Moon. Some proved to have greater success and longevity than others. If anyone passionately keen for support for their favourite browser is able to dig up any relative user base size / browser market share / etc data that would be helpful with prioritisation.
  17. While we are all in favour of ad-blockers (we're even starting to offer the functionality ourselves), if an ad blocker has been configured to additionally block things that aren't ads then you may find it interfering with the legitimate function of other software.
  18. Not sure if Mac was originally intended to be part of the Summer Sale - but it is now ;-) https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download?mac - confirming that the "buy now" link should take you to the half price summer sale price for Mac.
  19. Your type of automated renewal doesn't need a new key - your existing licence key gets automatically extended and you don't need to do anything ... although we have a number of cases at the moment where the information from the payment provider (Cleverbridge) was not passed through properly, so the product itself still shows the old expiry date. We have spent that past couple of days tracking down every case where this has happened and will start fixing everyone's dates starting early next week. Apologies for the inconvenience. But rest assured that everything is okay - your product still works and automatically updates as usual - it's just the display of the expiry date in the product which hasn't been refreshed yet.
  20. That is not how it works. The full installer may display an offer that the bottom of the install screen, but if that does not appear you would still get the rest of the screen loading, enabling you to continue. The slim build has no additional offers to retrieve at all. Sounds like something else is afoot with your system configuration that is causing your problems.
  21. @lmacri: unhidden. At first pass it looked like a duplication of content from another thread but on closer review you did primarily address the matter at hand. My apologies for being a little too quick on the draw on topic cleanup. With regards to Speccy publication and retrieval, as per another thread [I will edit later to add the reference] the ancient Speccy server has been under heavy load of late and the remedies Ben had in mind proved insufficient to have it sufficiently available. In short - we are in the process of getting a new server.
  22. There was also a false positive reported by some Dr Web users that was promptly resolved within 24-48 hours. I will follow up with our product team if there has been a response from Norton.
  23. Hm ... that's not right. Hold off on buying and I will get someone to give the cart a kick. I will follow up with a note when it is fixed. Note that this discounted promotional price lasts for another week - so you won't miss out.
  24. @NFern: Thanks for the additional information. Were you able to send the crash report? Also, for your Presario, which service pack for Windows Vista are you using?
