  4. Yup and As far as I can tell CCleaner does now and has always cleaned it (thus it being a temp file cleaner program) and it does
  5. C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local is not solely a Temp folder
  6. Also you could download the Portable version and not have any call home or install
  7. I guess you are on Vista or Windows 7 YEs? Microsoft No longer wants you to remove said packs from those OS's as it causes issues in new patches (Starting with Vista SP1)
  8. the amount given in analysis is a estimation this is answered plenty on this forum but if short, this is a normal occurrence
  9. Just to be clear do you mean windows xp and Office (outlook) 2003? Are you running just the cleaner section? or the registry section? Is Office 2003 checked off? can you post your ccleaner.ini (sanitizes User name if you wish but other than that leave it untouched)
  10. What errors are you seeing with WLM. Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it? You need to give us more information before we can help you. That said, If you "bought" ccleaner from anywhere but here or FileHippo you've been tricked and need to seek repayment. As stated above ccleaner is (always has been) completly free, fully featured no criple, and any payment is donation.
  11. uh what? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defragment
  12. Dennis, it was nice of you to give him the benefit on your doubt but he is a commerical spammer for his own product Link removed to fix ability of spammer to have a link available
  13. Yes history dat and internet cache dat (if protected mode) are located now in the temp file directory. I have added them to my exclude files section
  14. there's really no need to clean that often and has the possiblity of giving your drive a early death. if you are wanting to do this because of internet tracks then perhap ieprivacykeeper may be a better fit.
  15. I have an old version of CCleaner which I run on m'win98 Virtual Machine You can get old versions from The File Hippo link. That said if the win95 is your main machine or even if it is a real (not virtual) machine you are 1) putting yourself at major risk for identity theft 2) missing over a decade worth of computer and internet progress and safety. There is zero reason to be running that, buit for your own good do not enter the internet with it. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/tech/1/ may well run on win95 (i've yet to build my 95 vm or I'd test for you)
  16. Strangly, I found something describing your extact problem and solution it depends on the corruption on wither this will work, so as RedHawk said Which will help us to determine how baddly they may be corrupted (the more they've been overwritten the less likely you'll be able to save them) No matter what, please come back and tell us how you faired with these directions

    deleted cleaner

I h8 the FileHippo Site It convinces people to pay moneys when they don't have to (MajorGeeks too)
  18. Yes Wipe freespace should NOT be on your default cleaning your going to give your HDD an early death (WFS should be moved to Tools FOR this reason)
  19. iKidd that's a good tutorial thanks. Admins and Devs The above link does suggest downloading CCLeaner from an unofficial site "ninite.com" this site seems suspisious to me and moresoover is not (AFAIK) given permission to distribute CCLeaner, that said it looks like they are a download manager and may well be pulling the download from the Piriform site, I did think you should know though
  20. I believe Yahoo Toolbar (and all other cept maybe Bing) will inject into all installed, and compatible, Browsers
  21. Yup as Dennis Stated it's a common internet advertising agency (it's why you'll often see domainyouvisit.2o7.net as a cookie) I block it and many others (as Dennis suggested) via my hosts file. for info on hosts see http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm. If you use Firefox, You can use the TACO add-in and it'll opt-out of all advertising cookies.

    restore reg files

Using an Administrator Account Double click on the Backed up Registry Files It'll say some along the lines of are you sure you want to added this key to the registry (course you may not be able to read it because of your issue) but click yes (the first box) Next time follow the advice in my signature for running the registry section
