  1. A'ight, do to some testing with Speccy I have a definite answer for us all Portable.dat is indeed the same for all Piriform Programs it forced the app into ini usage and greys out the ability to change this setting and yes it does work for speccy so you could keep all of your piriform programs in the same folder with one Portable.dat and all will be forced to use ini

    O Thanks

Yeah, his/her posts don't seem to be spammy or adverty just odd and "placeless" my guess is it is simply a translation thing, but s/he never follows up on any of his/her posts check out the 6 posts and you'll remember him/her and notice what I mean
  3. "SpecialKey" is more a ccleaner thing. Forinstance Firefox items (e.g. cache) are specialkey [Mozilla - Internet Cache] ID=2001 LangSecRef=3026 LangRef=3161 Default=True SpecialDetect=DET_MOZILLA SpecialKey1=N_MOZ_CACHE However as we are getting off topic a bit, I ask the Moderators to please spin the Special key posts to a separate topic

    Forum Upgrade

+1 Here's A forum thread re same bbcode issue http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/297981-old-bbcodes-in-html-update-236-304/ but they didn't get very far and were told to go to peer-to-peer Here's another (from ipb 3 beta) but coder says it was fixed before 3.0 release http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=tracker&showissue=14608 I couldn't investigate anyfurther as Peer-to-Peer is for customers only

    Forum Upgrade

Because Upgrades save people from Secuirty Flaws. Because for pay Forums-scripts often make you get a latest version when you get the new license. Because a board should never go stagnant and finally because of this http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/302922-ipboard-236-and-related-applications-end-of-life-announcement/

    Forum Upgrade

Old BBCode did not carry over correctly in at least some topics e.g. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=27707&st=0&p=166405&fromsearch=1entry166405 you'll notice it says QUOTE where there was a quote tag. I cleaned a few on my posts but to do so on all ~619 would be too much work this is esp noticable in WIN*2.ini entries as they were wrapped in code tags (samething happened to emoticons too) Not so much a fan of current theme but I'm sure I'll get used to it (and it is Piriform colors) Not sure where it's being seen that privacy settings have gone out, I'm pretty sure they are the same
  8. Jumplist is in the Cleaner section However there are entries in the cleaner section (winapp and winsys) which remove certain registry entries (Most notably lists of previously opened files, such as MS Office, Realplayer etc); Jumplists MAY be of this ilk. Certain entries in WinApp and Winsys use what the developers call "SpecialKey" these are usually found in browsers but do show up in a few other entries; Jump Lists are of this ilk. Only the developers can define "SpecialKey" (i.e I, or even TwistedMetal, could not create a winapp2 entry that used "SpecialKey=" as they are defined elsewhere is the program. Again we will be forced to wait for Mr T or other developer to answer the question of how to exclude (if possible) certain programs from JumpList Cleaning
  9. the user should follow the advice in my signature and also that of Andavari. also please next time provide a translate of the original bing gave it to me pretty correct (except i don't think the Poster said beetle) so I take this to mean the user ran reg integ, cleaned all issue except type lib, and lost access to the internet? cc 20100416 is the name of the reg backup(?) it seems to be as that the the naming scheme. The User can restore it by opening reg edit and importing (file>import) with out knowing what version of ccleaner and what OS that is the only help we can give But a big part of this is NEVER EVER NEVER clean all entires (I'm going to guess the user deleted something to do with their firewall, antivirus or internet provider)
  10. me thinks norton is either reading the cookies.dat file (which is I believe cleaned when restart happens after running ccleaner) or finding cookies in a non-normal place try to track down the location of the file jazzy@go.com
  11. and if you only ran the cleaner (not the reg section) did you have "old prefetchdata" checked?

    O Thanks

? What ? Why do none of your posts ever make any sense?!?!?!?!!? this is disturbing me and i don't like it it makes me want to speak in Haiku
  13. 1) upgrade your rp it's VERY out of date 2) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips1 is where the SP files are kept and yes you are correct CCleaner is VERY behind in RP (even more than you ) so add this to your winapp2.ini (See link in my signature for info on WinApp2) [*Real Player SP and 12] ID=2034 LangSecRef=3023 Detect=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0 Default=True RegKey1=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips1 RegKey2=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips2 RegKey3=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips3 RegKey4=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips4 RegKey5=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips5 RegKey6=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips6 RegKey7=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips7 RegKey8=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\MostRecentClips8 RegKey9=HKCU\Software\RealNetworks\RealPlayer\12.0\Preferences\LastOpenFileDir FileKey1=%appdata%\Real\RealPlayer|cookies.txt FileKey2=%appdata%\Real\RealPlayer|ctd.dat FileKey3=%appdata%\Real\RealPlayer|realplayer.ste FileKey4=%appdata%\Real\RealPlayer\History|*.* FileKey5=%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Real\Update_OB|RealPlayer-log.txt Note, I removed skin locations as I could not find that skins were still supported so I may have to put them back in if someone tells me different (I also removed openlocationclips as that reg entry did not exist for me, if someone else thinks I should I'll put them back in) EDIT: WINAPP2.ini entry tested and functional
  14. yup, you'll have to wait until 1) someone who uses these programs and knows win*.ini programing comes and programs them for you or 2)I or some other helper has the time to load the three products you mentioned or 3) For each of the programs you figure out what files you need deleted (with enviromentals), what Reg key needs to be detected to tell ccleaner that the program is installed. Winapp2 is actually pretty easy to make and we are willing to help all we can with your entry if you go the third route (I've made quite a few functional ones as have others here in the forum) Also Chrome is already supported by ccleaner
  15. ARRRG stop this is an old thread, silly users who've been here for a while read the dates to those you reply too see picture with anotations
  16. @Alan_B Jumplists is a reg/junk (not reg integrity but it cleans a special key) so does not list results in result section [Taskbar Jump Lists] ID=1031 LangSecRef=3002 LangRef=3133 DetectOS=6.1 Default=true SpecialKey1=N_EX_JUMP_LISTS MR_T or other developer can you answer this one? I find it unclear when things cleaned are special key so I'm not sure where to do this from either (thus my watching this thread )
  17. it will write to the registry or create a new CCleaner.ini Below picture compares the two files and shows as identical. and both are only 1kb big
  18. nO!!!! Bumper (reply #10) is a sneaky Spammer!!
  19. no I think this is more a question of making a winapp2.ini but I (or better a user of these programs) would need to figure out the settings however, yes include/exclude would work
  20. server 2000 os and windows client 2000 are one and the same as far as compatiblilty just less features in the latter, you should have no issue running on 2000 (though I thought 98 wasn't supported by ccleaner any more (I had to use 1.x on my 98 VM )
  21. nor does WFS give you anymore free space than you had previously (and with win7 it may give less as a shadow copy might be made not sure)
  22. both portable.dat are indentical (both plain text files which simply state #PORTABLE#)so it should not be a problem to erase one. I think they are throw backs from when CCleaner was 1.x but MR T. may have to answer that one. lang file (if you want english) can all be deleted, same with license
  23. OT the folder issue, with the portable is definitly a OS bug or a bug in the drive on which that portable is loaded. The only dif between installed ccleaner and Portable is that Portable stores to the ini by default and with out choice, installed stores to reg and gives the (better IMHO) choice of storing to ini. 1) I disagree with most people here and say All accounts is a bad thing. and will get many people angry b/c ini (and probably reg) is shared i believe (at the vary least on an xp install where there is no restriction to writing in the Program files dir) and thus if Bob-Admin checks that off so he'll be able to clean tim's account too, then when sue cleans it'll clean bob's account when he may not want it to. (course that is better than completly deleting tim's user folder as happened to a previous poster) 2) NO, other apps do this and (as has been stated) this is not the point of ccleaner as a program (I have enough issue with WFS and it's at least simular to the point) 3) you have answered your own question on this one via the word choice "sometimes." sometimes yes they are useless and sometimes removing them will break a program to the point of neededing reinstall. Also as Most people do not unhide hidden files it has the chance of deleting folders that DO have something in them and are needed. 4) what backup files? not all backup files are created equal, not all backup files use .bkp or .old and many backlup files are QUITE needed and shopuld be handled by their respective programs. 5) see 4 6) why? if you don't want them turn them off else, the system spends time (slows down) rebuilding them because some one deleted them.
