  1. uhhhh /me assumes you mean "I am trying CCleaner 2.30.1130 (March 2010)", if not PLEASE UPDATE ok now to question, Ccleaner is a VERY gentle Registry cleaner and errs on the side of not picking up as much as other cleaners do. so for your question and assuming you realy do mean "does not" as you typed, then this may be the reason. If you, instead, meant (IMHO the more logical) " I don't know if it is OK it does detect many invalid ActiveX/COM/Software keys:" Then Please read my signature

  3. Pleanty of discussion on what WFS is and whether/when it should be run. Can both of you please search the site first and then come back to the thread. Re: shutdown the problem I see with this (this is just my opinion and not meant to spark any sort of fight) is quite often a program that has run for a long time (lets say 15hours) and then shut downs might just shut down while you are in the middle of something else. And please do not come back at me with a "well you could have a countdown timer that allows the shut down to be cancled" as my exprience is that often a user is either click happy and clicks through it or (more often) happens to be away from the computer just at the exact time the timer apears
  4. my guess AU is reading the index.dat which won't be empty after a ccleaner run until the puter is restarted did you actually verifiy the phyiscal files were still there after a cclean before an AU? (i.e. navigate to the folder that cookies are kept in after ccleaner cleans?)

  6. /me rolls eyes at the sillyness of the above statement. . . sorry but what?
  7. as It cleans HKCurrentUser i'm gonna guess it cleans only current user for the following (Note this may differ per OS I'm using windows 7) Most (not all) unused file ext Some Obsolete software Some Run at startup maybe startmenu ordering maybe MUI Cache
  8. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/titular Wow that didn't help figure out what the OP meant at all ummm how often are you running WFS? perhaps there's not much that needs wiping
  9. sadly there is no universal local low variable (seems pretty dumb to me to have one for local and one for roaming but not for low) so for vista and 7 users i present a stop gap until piriform enables it. Please place this into you winapp2.ini REMOVED and replaced below Code is tested and Verified working EDIT: Piriform has now provided us with a locallow variable. Please see my post below with the Amended Quicktime of vista/7
  10. becasue the hugs amount of applications actually handled by ccleaner (roughly >140 in the latest version) this would not be possible however if you so wanted to you could download the embedded ini from http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=15307 (latest version at the end of the thread) and find all the apps you want and what they delete for instance eMule [eMule (Search History)] ID=2080 LangSecRef=3022 Detect=HKCU\Software\eMule Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\eMule\config|AC_SearchStrings.dat [eMule (File Hashes)] ID=2081 LangSecRef=3022 Detect=HKCU\Software\eMule Default=False FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\eMule\config|known.met FileKey2=%ProgramFiles%\eMule\config|known2.met and Vuze [Vuze] ID=2115 LangSecRef=3022 Detect=HKCU\Software\Azureus Default=True FileKey1=%appdata%\Azureus\logs|*.log FileKey2=%appdata%\Azureus\logs\save|*.log FileKey3=%userprofile%\Application Data\Azureus\tmp|*.* FileKey4=%userprofile%\Application Data\Azureus|*.bak FileKey5=%userprofile%\Application Data\Azureus|*.log Filekey is the section you are looking for and that is what is deleted some apps also delete a reg key so it may say regkey=hkcu\blahblahblah e.g. [Google Earth] ID=2112 LangSecRef=3021 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Google\Google Earth Plus Detect2=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Google\Google Earth Pro Default=True FileKey1=%appdata%\Google\GoogleEarth|dbcache.dat FileKey2=%appdata%\Google\GoogleEarth|dbcache.dat.index RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Google\Google Earth Plus\Search RegKey2=HKCU\Software\Google\Google Earth Pro\Search
  11. haha I, an avid palm fan and user (forum.smartdevice.com) come to the rescue usually there is no issue with cleaning temp and PHS; however, the error you are getting, can usually be solved by soft reseting your device (pull the battery, put the battery back in) or changing USB ports. If this does not work open device manager go to USB devices and you'll see "unknown device" (this assumes that the charge light is still coming on when you connect the Hotsync cable) right click it and uninstall the device. Then plug the device (and cable) into another USB port. If this does not work then open device manager and delete each of the Intel® ICH9 Family blah blah under Universal serial bus controllers (Make sure your mouse and/or keyboard are not USB or you will lose control of them) then refresh, the PC will find the USB again and this should fix your not connecting issue. If you only have a USB Keyboard and mouse, restart the computer after the delete, press and hold the power button til the computer turns off then turn the puter back on normally) I hope these help, if they do not (and even if they do) come join us at my forum (I mentioned the address above) and our many palm experts will happily assist you further
  12. You got that because that file has been partially overwritten, sorry you probably will not be able to recover it Did you install recuva to the same drive you were trying to recover from? If so that's what overwrote part of the file However I will use this a a chance to beg and implore Recuva Developers to Place a large warning on the download page of recuva stating not to download or install the program to the drive reovery is being atempted on
  13. Please read the advices in my signature I seems most of what you are trying to delete you shouldn't
  14. uh dude. . . read the dates on the post you tried to answer and the version of ccleaner mentioned next time answer new questions and welcome
  15. Hi please search the forum for flash storage. the list of sites is stored in a general .sol file and if you were to use ccleaner to clean it it would delete it which would include settings for site you might wish to keep. I'd tell you which file but I've posted it multiple times and it takes a while for me to run regshot with a full c drive shot, clean the file and then regshot again, so I won't Sorry Search the forum
  16. no, doesn't use process ID (uses exatly what I posted above, that's literally what the program looks at) but I wonder if development doesn't report as the specialkeys (but that wouldn't explain it working in 2.28 for you)
  17. Ok Now I'm confused: 1) Winapp.ini between 2.28 and 2.29 are identical for google chrome 2) I can see Chrome in both 2.28 and 2.29 (latest version of chrome installed on win xp sp3 today both versions of ccleaner Portable run from desktop have Chrome listed at the top of Applications) and both give the same results
  18. yes, you are correct that it is not listed in system properties>Advanced>environmental Variables; though nor does %appdata% %programdata% or anything else on that page I linked (except path and tmp/temp) and I assure you they all work . in the run box (start menu>RUN) type %programfiles% it opened the directory for me on my xp sp3 fine. here's the direct Microsoft page http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...w.mspx?mfr=true
  19. XP already has %programfiles% enviromental variable http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/environment.htm
  20. No that's not the issue the lack of %localdata% in XP is why the are two detects in this entry. so back to square one with this one, I don't have chrome installed (i use a portable version) so more people will have to look at this issue, sorry
  21. Maybe my question will seem unfair to you. . .but it isn't Why do you come to a forum ask for help and then shoot down the help given? why do you think that your refusal to follow common sense, like windows system restore and ccleaners multiple chance to give you a chance to practice smart computing is anyone fault but your own. You don't have backups of the registry you delete, you don't have an ability to go back using system restore? then you must now reintall windows most likely. and my advice to you now, is to not ever try to use any registy cleaner as ccleaner is a GENTLE one and most/all other will remove much more than ccleaner did. 'nuff said Nergal Out.
  22. Stop using the computer you deleted it from as much as possible (the more you use the computer the harder a recover will be) download the portable version of Recuva from http://www.piriform.com/recuva/builds to a seperate Harddrive/or a flash drive run it to do search of your drive (C:\) and recover anything recoverable to the seperate harddrive (the one recuva running from) if you do this to the hard drive you are trying to recover from you run a VERY HIGH RISK of overwriting what you want to recover good luck
  23. If you have Windows 7 you could use "previous versions" Else. don't write anything else to the drive and use (running from a portable drive) recuva and recover what you can ON TO A SEPERATE DRIVE
