  1. not much reason for ccleaner to be 64bit IMHO
  2. find where the image is stored and use options>exclude to exclude it's cleaning
  3. are you checking Taskmanger to make sure the programs are actually killed?
  4. Ummmmm 1) Re: Compensation read a license sometime 2) Re: hijak computer. . . what? there is no way for Defraggler to do this, it's not like systernals Process explorer where it can replace the built in 3) sounds like you made something happen. can you Without bold or caps describe to us what steps you took and maybe, more in depth what you mean hijacked the computer? Start with what Version Windows you are using and what version of Defraggler
  5. I have to agree that Malware hides there most often. However, I guess you're fine to have that checked and then, if you suspect malware, uncheck it. Strangely (and I maybe wrong) I think it looks at creation date not modification date.
  6. System Restore search often takes a good while. just to test, put it on that screen and walk away for a bit, go read a chapter in a book, or cook some pizza rolls, then come back and see
  7. as Aethec started, and as I said above, including them would be redundant and confuse most people. These are here for education and Support purposes, including them in the distrubution would server little purpose except to invite questions such as

    UAC permission

    1) setting it to run as admin will always result in a UAC prompt, for any any program ever 2) no CCleaner need access to delete files for which elevated privileges are needed. 3) Please learn about UAC and you will realize it is a VERY NEEDED thing in windows systems which always should have been there (akin to the SUDO command in Linux) d) Hi guys I've been gone because I am setting up a SMF forum, but I miss you guys and it's mostly set up so I'll be back to answering again soon Happy new year Nergal the Evil Demon
  9. There's no way of the devs knowing all the place you (and other might install something) thus winapp2.ini Copy the info from winapp (embedded ini that your talking about) to winapp2 and then change the locations to match yours
  10. 5. (given that 5 is much like 2 in your list then given only your choices 2 but 5 is my answer (see my signature)
  11. Sadly the only way to figure it out is uncheck eveything and run ccleaner check mark by check mark looking at the analyis data (double click the summary item to see detail) and test the printer after each one of these cleans once you figure out what file(s) being you can use tool\exclude and tell it to ignore the file/folder in question
  12. As long as it is an option and NOT the default then . . . sure why not +1
  13. is not the same as uncheck "hide protected operating system files"
  14. before anyone can test this, can you confirm your OS (XP? Vista? W7?)
  15. run regedit and remove HKCU\Software\Safer Networking Limited\SpybotSnD
  16. first thing that is wrong is that you use ccleaner as a security program instead of what it is, a space reclaimer second problem is data is ALWAYS recoverable it may take a little elbow grease but even with rewrites something is bound to find at least some excellent retrivals especially if you run the recover program straight after running ccleaner (or what ever cleaner you decide upon)
  17. ummmmm firefox portable anyone
  18. umm that is strange that those are in there as a a stop gap use exclude and exclude those entries
  19. first of all "run as administrator" will ALWAYS result in UAC second ccleaner will always require UAC
  20. if you have ie in protected mode (which it is by default) all dat files are kept in c:\windows\temp and get deleted even if index dat is unticked. I had to exclude this dat for a while til I figured that out
  21. ok so here is what is occuring (and the same occurs for me ~22% that ieprivacy keeper cleans (which happens each time I close the last browser window) the Cache is becoming corrupt. I'm still testing out how exactly to stop this from occuring. Strangly this is something that used to occur with ie6 back in the day. however currently when it occurs I delete the actual index.dat it the cache folder I run the inbuilt IE history delete then I reboot the computer (logging off was NOT enough) and then I can download again. This may seem extreme however my first routine was reset ie and install all my freaking accelorators and search providers, so this is easier. Watching this thread and will come back as I learn more.
  22. Detect=HKCU\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom Detect=HKCU\Software\Nero\Nero 9 it's in one of those two places still
