  1. That option should be OFF by default. True, that many users don't pay attention to install options and they just click Next, Next, Next... It's just their fault, though.
  2. Well, usually/normally there's no need to. But sometimes there might be, if the installed update causes some problems. It's good to keep those uninstaller files, let say a week or two, just in case. And if there seem to be no problems, then you can remove them.
  3. They seem to be email related. Maybe that new Vista update contained some email updates and it left those unneeded registry entries behind. I don't know any better than that.
  4. Oh yeah. I had the same problem with 98SE. VERY unstable.
  5. Hmmm, maybe the 'Add/Remove program' uninstall works with Update 6. I have Update 6 now installed. I have tried 'Add/Remove program' uninstall with all 1.6.0.x versions up to .0.3 and have not been able to uninstall. That uninstall problem can also be somehow system specific, so all maybe don't have this problem. Edit: Second hmmmm. I have always used the RegCleaner Uninstall Menu, because i think it's exactly same thing as 'Add/Remove program'. Well, maybe it isn't after all...? I think the problem is with RegCleaner Uninstaller. It shows that the uninstall path is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Java x Update x, but there's no such a path in the registry. Correct path is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{3248F0A8-6813-11D6-A77B-00B0D01600x0}. (x means the current version).
  6. Yeah, i already knew this. I still use the old (1.0) version as my default PDF reader. I have the newer version too, though. I don't work with PDF's that often. Edit: Well, i downloaded the latest Foxit reader and set it as my default .pdf reader.
  7. The worst virus i ever had, was called "fservices.exe". Or the main process was named like that. It was very tricky to remove. Took me a while to get rid of it.
  8. Damn, just updated to Update 6 a while ago. Before that, i had Update 3 for a long time. Btw, if you have problems to UNinstall your current Sun Java ('Add/Remove program' only gives option to install), there's a .bat file available (somewhere). Anyway, here's the code. Just copy it to Notepad and "Save as", for example as java.bat. Run the file by double clicking it. echo offecho Uninstalling Java Runtime Environment 1.6...IF EXIST "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_06" msiexec.exe /qn /x {3248F0A8-6813-11D6-A77B-00B0D0160060}IF EXIST "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05" msiexec.exe /qn /x {3248F0A8-6813-11D6-A77B-00B0D0160050}IF EXIST "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04" msiexec.exe /qn /x {3248F0A8-6813-11D6-A77B-00B0D0160040} Note: If you have some other version, than listed in the code, just modify the code. Change the jre version and the second last number of the registry entry. Like this: jre1.6.0_03...3248F0A8-6813-11D6-A77B-00B0D0160030.

    Tennis

Nope, didn't watch it. But kinda glad that Federer didn't win, 'cause he has already won so many times.
  10. I bought a new sun glasses this summer. Before them, i had same glasses for 10 years, can you imagine.
  11. As far as know, Adobe Reader has always been a memory/resource hog. It's better to use in example Foxit Reader. Btw, here's a good place to scan a single file for viruses and malware: http://virusscan.jotti.org/ It checks with several AV scanners.
  12. Well, i stopped using this Ramdisk for now. When it's set to 64Mb for Opera cache, it really fills up fastly, especially when watching YouTube videos. And i don't wanna set it bigger, because it just eats up RAM then. Also the difference in browsing speed is not so notable after all. Maybe i will figure some else use for it.
  13. Basicly have no idea, cause i don't have that game. But you could check your My Documents folder and see, if there's a Age of Empires 3 profile folder created. Some games creates profile folders there. If there's no such a folder, then check from the game main directory.
  14. For me there was 1 Windows XP security update, but no Windows Installer 4.5. I have SP2. Edit: Well, i installed this Windows Installer 4.5 manually. If you want to know/confirm, what version of Windows Installer are you using, you can check it from MSI.DLL, which is located in System32 directory.
  15. Yeah, i was thinking this RamDisk thing some months ago, but didn't install it then. Now when you mentioned it here, i decided to go and install it. I'm currently using it for Opera cache and browsing sure seems faster! I use Gavotte Ramdisk and disk size is set to 64Mb. It's free. Btw, disk size of Gavotte Ramdisk is not limited to 64Mb. I guess the limit might depend on how much you have the hard ram. To use Ramdisk, the most important requirement is that the system has a lot of memory, much a lot than the size of Ramdisk that you intends to create. It works on system with minimum 256 MB RAM, where you’re recommended not to set Ramdisk with size more than 64 MB. Also: For the Disk Size, please choose properly and depends on your needs. If your PC’s RAM is more than 1.5GB, you can choose up to 256MB. I advice that you keep around 1GB for your system if you are using XP and around 1.5GB for Vista. http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/05/27/f...nd-2003-server/ http://www.techsnack.net/gavotte-ramdisk-f...virtual-hardisk
