  1. Go to Start>Run. Type regedit and hit OK. Browse to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface.
  2. Well, i think they are safe to delete, since it says "Missing Typelib reference". Didn't pay attention to that before. They are not empty keys, but there's no reference to Typelib value, and that's why they are invalid. So, just go a head and delete them, but keep the backup, just in case.
  3. I really don't know, that are they safe safe to delete. I really don't know for sure.
  4. I think it might be because of Yahoo Toolbar. You don't have to install it though.
  5. I think there's 33 entries, but the backup file is showing sub-keys too. Noticed that all those new "invalid" entries are from HKCR/Interface path. To be honest, i think there's something weird now. I did some random search of those entries from Andavari's backup file and i don't have those entries on my registry. I think they are related to either SP3 or/and Vista. Do you have SP3 or Vista, Andavari? I have XP SP2. Edit: Ok, here's an example from Andavari's backup file: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{01110A02-3E00-11D2-8470-0060089874ED}]@="ISdcCtlCmd"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{01110A02-3E00-11D2-8470-0060089874ED}\ProxyStubClsid]@="{00020424-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{01110A02-3E00-11D2-8470-0060089874ED}\ProxyStubClsid32]@="{00020424-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{01110A02-3E00-11D2-8470-0060089874ED}\TypeLib]@="{01110A01-3E00-11D2-8470-0060089874ED}""Version"="1.0" It's showing the main key ({01110A02-3E00-11D2-8470-0060089874ED}) and the sub-keys; ProxyStubClsid, ProxyStubClsid32 and TypeLib. I don't have any idea, why it's classified as invalid key. Basicly the first key is found as invalid and the sub-keys are removed along with it. So in this case, i think there's no reference to key {01110A02-3E00-11D2-8470-0060089874ED} or to value "ISdcCtlCmd" anywhere in the registry/system. But anyway, it's a bit strange, that it's found as invalid, because it does include sub-keys and values.
  6. I have CCleaner entry in there, and some others. But yes, if it's an empty key, then it's somewhat useless.
  7. Suspicious, very suspicious. Good that you made a backup. Although they CAN be safe to delete. I really don't know for sure. Anyway, seems that CCleaner has become a very thorough registry scanner...
  8. Those entries indeed seems suspicious. Suspicious in a way, that NOT very safe to delete. Edit: How can 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings' be an OBSOLETE software key? Many programs stores settings there, including CCleaner.
  9. I think RegSeeker is the most powerful registry cleaner i have (atleast the most powerful i USE). But i'm very careful with it. I don't remember seeing those entries AKAJohnDoe had. Did you have those same entries?
  10. I just scanned with this latest version and it didn't find any new entries. Edit: Maybe those entries are only found in Vista.
  11. You are right. Found this with Google: C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\OfflineCache\index.dat Once this file is deleted, (MS)Sysinfo becomes disabled, and/or parts of Help & Support behave differently I don't have index.dat file in my OfflineCache folder. I have read that files in ...\HelpCtr\OfflineCache folder can be deleted. Well, but not the index.dat file.
  12. I had bumblebees in my apartment last summer. They were buzzing on my kitchen window, trying to get out. Don't know where they came from.
  13. Well, removing them will free up some disk space. There's no any real need to remove them. Also removing $NtUninstallKB$ folders is found to be safe. But anyway, it's not good to remove them right away, after Windows updates are installed. It's good to wait some time, just to be sure that there's no any problems with installed updates and no need to uninstall them.
  14. You just have to wait then. Next time will be faster. Another tip: Remove all the temp files (using CCleaner) before starting to defrag. Here's more tips: http://www.kessels.com/JkDefrag/index.html /below the program snaphot)
  15. You can just delete it, if you can.
  16. Not sure, but i think it will start all over. Those files you have already defragged, it should go fast over them. Just disable/stop the Norton AV section. You don't have to stop Defraggler when doing it.
  17. Yes. Btw, i personally use JKDefrag: http://www.kessels.com/JkDefrag/index.html
  18. If you do that, unplug your internet cable. Or enable your Windows build-in firewall (before disabling 3rd-party FW). If you boot to Safe-Mode, unplug then too, because it won't then load your 3rd-party FW drivers. It's good to defrag in Safe Mode, because less programs/drivers are then in use and CAN BE DEFRAGGED.
  19. Yes it should. Or maybe even defrag in Safe Mode.
  20. -Disable Norton AV real-time scanner. -No it won't take that long. Files are now fragmented, because of programs installation. And after they are once defragged, defragging is faster.
  21. Those index.dat files are not deleted, only cleaned. So if the file size is 16Kb or 32KB, they are clean. I use a batch file created with 'Index.dat Suite' program. The batch file run at Windows start-up. Edit: Well, they are deleted, but new (clean) ones are created.
  22. Disable your real-time AV protection before starting to defrag. Yes, defrag can be very slow, if you defrag for the first time and your hard drive is heavily fragmented. Defrag your hard drive more often, once a month or once every few months, so it won't be heavily fragmented , and defragging will be much faster.
  23. Do you have a program called FolderShare installed? Or maybe Windows Live FolderShare?
  24. Well, here's the first screenshot: And here's the second one:
  25. My display is about 4 years old DELL TFT 15". Working great. 15" may seem somewhat small now a days, but i really don't have any reason to buy a bigger one. Maybe some day though.
