before anyone can test this, can you confirm your OS (XP? Vista? W7?)
-
run regedit and remove HKCU\Software\Safer Networking Limited\SpybotSnD
-
first thing that is wrong is that you use ccleaner as a security program instead of what it is, a space reclaimer second problem is data is ALWAYS recoverable it may take a little elbow grease but even with rewrites something is bound to find at least some excellent retrivals especially if you run the recover program straight after running ccleaner (or what ever cleaner you decide upon)

ummmmm firefox portable anyone
-
umm that is strange that those are in there as a a stop gap use exclude and exclude those entries
-
first of all "run as administrator" will ALWAYS result in UAC second ccleaner will always require UAC
-
if you have ie in protected mode (which it is by default) all dat files are kept in c:\windows\temp and get deleted even if index dat is unticked. I had to exclude this dat for a while til I figured that out

ok so here is what is occuring (and the same occurs for me ~22% that ieprivacy keeper cleans (which happens each time I close the last browser window) the Cache is becoming corrupt. I'm still testing out how exactly to stop this from occuring. Strangly this is something that used to occur with ie6 back in the day. however currently when it occurs I delete the actual index.dat it the cache folder I run the inbuilt IE history delete then I reboot the computer (logging off was NOT enough) and then I can download again. This may seem extreme however my first routine was reset ie and install all my freaking accelorators and search providers, so this is easier. Watching this thread and will come back as I learn more.

Both the Windows and Applications section are run when you run cleaner if you are running vista or win7 you can get your files back Type %AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player in the startmenu Right click on the folder where the flash cookies are saved "#sharedobjects" and choose properties go to the "Previous Versions tab" and open the version of the folder from before you ran cleaner open the random letters folder and copy the folder for your game from this folder to %AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\#sharedobjects this SHOULD return functionality to your game(s)

if you search your registry you will find HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Common probably your computer came with a trial of Office 97 export the key HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\ and then delete it if you have no issues with office 2003 (give it ~week) after doing this delete the exported key

welcome Nope that's the only difference portable leaves no install traces, it's a zip file so you don't install it at all. It comes with the portable.dat and is already (and forced to) set to save in ini file. you can place it on your flashdrive/ipod/external harddrive/ and use it on any computer you want
-
Also did you use the cleaner section? or the registry section? I do use Outlook and I donot have this issue and use ccleaner very regularly have you tried a system restore to before you used ccleaner?

Information for people wondering about the registry cleaner

Very good post. I'd love it if this were a sticky except do you mean Thinking is the same as not knowing, and it'd be best NOT to remove something that looks like it may be important. -
Hey, ie is working for me (ie8 windows 7) can someone with a different ie or OS try the new zip Thanks still to Pluto and to the CCleaner Devs
-
why pay for a program to do something that you can do within IE If you only want today's history deleted than why not just do it within IE

CCleaner destroys the Konvertor registry key
Nergal replied to jack7854's topic in CCleaner Bug Reporting
Don't blame ccleaner, you should have looked at your registry entries before cleaning. Did you create a backup of the registry items as prescribed by the cleaner? if so just merge them back into the registry. If you didn't you'll have to reinstall the program, or try a system restore. From now on your best bet is to follow the advice laid out in my signature. -
no just use the portable version on the other builds site or switch it to use ini in advanced before burning it to cd (of course you'll also have to let it build the ini and copy the ini to the disc with ccleaner before burning)

looks like he's not running the installer with elevated privilages (admin UAC issue)
