  2. Hello edallen, I am a newbie around here so maybe I'll reply. Most of the people here in the forum give generously often if not daily of their time and effort. Those who can afford to make donations do so. This question is very unfair to ask of them. Forum etiquette is a completely new subject to me. I think it really depends on what is in your heart, mind, and bank account. You know this is a free forum and as such needs as much support as it can get. Believe me we don't enjoy having to provide commercial space and we don't want things to get worse. Otherwise the word "free" as in free speech goes out the door. Thank You for your support, davey

    Life on Mars?

LOOKS LIKE MARS "BIGFOOT" TO ME. davey
  4. Hello not a geek, OK! When you run CCleaner YOU are started at the Cleaner function or window. Further down the window in the left side is another botton labeled TOOLS. Click on TOOLS .You will see UNINSTALL.CCleaner shows a more detailed list than what is shown in Windows ADD/REMOVE Programs. This is what the blogs etc. are talking about.CCleaner provides this as a tool to help but can't guarantee removing eveything installed by the manufacturer. STOP THERE. THE best way to uninstall in your situation may be to get uninstall softwre from the manufacturer hopefully online.. This way you can remove all the programs,Icons, work files, etc. and reset the Registry properly. IF you still have the install software or someone you know then you can re-install the software then UNINSTALL.Maybe "borrow" the install disc from the vendor. Read this link before using CCleaner. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=1504 DON'T forget to DO a BACKUP ,RESTORE POINT, or whatever you use. Good Luck, davey
  5. Thanks for the information. It may be needed by the Bug Removers. It looks like you may have IE cookies also. davey
  6. Hi, Glad to hear you have everything worked out. In Post #3 you apparently clicked on Add Reply by mistake. As regards using EDIT you can use it to make additions or corrections. Like with Post #3 you can use Edit then delete everything in the Post and just type in WHOOPS!!! or whatever . You don't have to but you can. Then you just click on Submit Modified Post. You can probably get an updated version of MS Office from Microsoft. Maybe thats why you Uninstalled Office 97. Bookmark this link. All of his articles are Expert advice. You click on any Button on the left for what you want. http://internetrotsyourbrain.com/rridgely/freesoftware.htm As a newbie I recommend trying or doing one thing at a time. New software, new options ,etc. The forum is a great place to "Search" for advice on any subject.Just click on "Search" at the top on most forum windows. For complete Registry Backup (better than System Restore In My Humble Opinion (IMHO)) and Registry optimization. http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/index.htm Best Wishes, davey
  7. Hello unholyflo, Looks like you are trying to contact us again. Since you are the sender of the new Post #3 You can click on EDIT at the bottom of the Post #3 and you can try your reply again.Go ahead!!! We all have made some mistakes when first Posting or Replying. You can Preview Post your reply.Make as many corrections or additions as you like. We all know that sometimes the Posting software gets goofed up.So the last thing I do is HIGH light the whole Post and and use CTRL + C to save it before I use POST REVIEW. Yes ,I hate to do all that typing again also. davey Forgot to tell you to get out of the Posting cycle click on Piriform Forums at the top of the window or whatever to get out of the loop.

  10. Hi Again, This is the best link I can find for you. You are apparently having "Multiple Monitors Windows XP" problems. This is what I searched for at Microsoft >>>>>>> Multiple Monitors Windows XP I SUGGEST YOU TRY THIS LINK FIRST. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222/en-us This link second. You may not need it if first link takes care of your problem. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292460/ Best Wishes, davey CEECEE is also seriously trying to understand your basic underlying problem.
  11. ARE you using IE also. If so THIS link should help. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showto...amp;#entry93980 IF not IE files what files are they?
  12. Sometimes when those "good ole boys" are noodling they are in a cement, concrete ,tarmac or asphalt pond, stream, creek or river(along old submerged roads or highways). Some have fingers or limbs are "lost",bitten or attacked by other riparian creatures. Some noodlers are "lost forever noodling".Just another way of life. R.I.P,. davey DennisD, The catfish are worth filleting and keeping in the freezer.Plus they have huge cookouts. Craigatus knows about this."Put another Pron on the Bar-B,Mate." The fingers, hands and arms are worth a lot more. The lives lost, invaluable.Fortunately, very rare. They always follow Sportsman's Rule #1.
  13. Yeah, "STORM" gotta Credit Card underground network and probably a bunch of scars and tattoos. davey And that's just the Legal Staff.
  14. Hello Fractal, Your file may have already been "overwritten" by other data you processed since deleting it. Some files get overwritten very soon after being deleted. You need a file way out in the boondocks on your disk. You need to do some searching on the net as to how to test.Maybe something on forum also. Good Luck, davey Do you have other Symantec software such as NPROTECT or something similar.? I don't know all of the details but they "hide" files that have been "deleted" and then they can "recover" those files. So to be "fair" you need to compare Recuva to another recovery product other than the Symantec..

  18. Yes Volvokenny, You are doing the right thing. Some "ISSUES" listed by the Registry function are listed for your information . The repair "ISSUES" part of the program will not delete certain items that the programming team has decided may be unsafe for the the users benefit. If the user absolutely wants to delete these items ,the user must use Regedit.exe to do so.. davey P.S. Also you MUSTsee this link for Issues that keep re-appearing. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=8588
  19. Hello ColTom2, See this post as regards your problem fix. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showto...amp;#entry94422 davey Note This fix does not apply to any references to Recent documents just incorrectly reported totals..
  20. Hello unholyflo, I am a relatively new PC user myself. First remember this . You dont have to run the cleaner or anything else. Not without first understanding what is being cleaned? You should always be nervous about Registry cleaning also. You are batting 100%. What Operating System,Browser,anti-malware are you using? Did the Cleaner stop running or did it seem to "hang" like it wasn't working. Explain what you did and then what happened next. Apparently you got a message that MS wants to send a report. Do not worry about sending any reports.this will just fill up space in your computer. MS office 97 should be listed under your Applications tab in the Cleaner window. Uncheck the box for that application for now. Do not uninstall anything.Even if the computer says so. Now before you do anything else.Read the Beginners Guide. The following link will take you to the Beginners Guide. http://www.internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/ Do not run the Cleaner for now.Only do this under the direction of a CCleaner Moderator. This link will help you find a screen capture and more. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=13668 This is enough to keep you busy for now. Fill us in with whats happening.Provide answers to the questions as soon as you can. davey You have done everything correctly. You are in control.
  21. Hello caysandy, What OS are you using, Browser,Anti-malware etc.? What settings are you using? Does your user name contain any special characters? Thanks in advance for the information. davey
  22. Hi notaguru, I am not a Guru either. IF you will follow the Beginners Guide and don't change any settings for Advanced cleaning, you will be safe. As far as "junk" files installed by the manufacturer, you will need someone to help you to decide how to delete and what to delete. These "junk" files probably exist somewhere where CCleaner is not set up to clean. Otherwise most users would clean them out right away.Of course the manufacturer is going to put them where they are harder to get rid of. You don't have to have special knowledge to use CCleaner. I highly recommend it to clean out the normal temporary files that build up from using the Internet and normal use of your computer. CCleaner is being used on millions of computers!!! In many ways I am still a new user. Have fun with your new computer, davey The following link will take you to the Beginners Guide. http://www.internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/ DON'T FORGET TO CREATE THOSE BACK UPS RIGHT AWAY. NOW!!!! KEEP THEM IN A SAFE PLACE !!! BACK UP EVERYTHING !!!. "JUNK" AND ALL.!!! RECORD THOSE SERIAL NUMBERS ALSO!!! .
  23. Hello Guys, Yes,you can add me to that list. It does not happen everytime but if you are watching when you go back to the top of the forum after a reply or message, you can sometimes see the rectangular message box go flashing by. davey
