  1. Hello Spiderman-21, Welcome to a great forum. The problem you are reporting is probably the same as some other users with special characters in the user name have reported. You are in luck the next version is about to be released this week and a fix for this problem will hopefully be in it. If you want more information I suggest you search on "cookies delete" in this forum. They will show within the last 45 days at the most. Good thing you provided the info that you are a user in Germany. Best Wishes, davey
  2. Hi Kingofmyworld01, I don't have personal laptop experience but in latest readings (alot so I don't remember exactly where) I read that some laptops do this because they are very low on battery power. Recommend search MS etc. as regards low battery power. Good Luck and hope somebody offers me a free laptop, davey

  4. Hi em1500uk, It really depends on how you use your PC. Sometimes you may download some software and it ends up in these Temp files. Many people have and don't realize they need to get this software somewhere safe. There are first time users like I was that did not even know some of this software was there. I "inherited" this computer and it was in terrible shape. Some software was in Temporary Internet Files and never been moved out. These files had never been "cleaned" even using Windows options. So the first time cleaning was done by me using Windows options BANG. What a big surprise!!! Blame it on the cleaner??? I think not!!! The problem was due to inexperience not "stupidity". This same thing happens to new users of CCleaner!!! Luckily I had backed up these files before cleaning.I do have that much experience. From what I have observed, keeping this box checked gives you time to move or copy what you need before 48 hrs, are up.However,if you don't even know what is in there,48 hrs. later or more when you run CCleaner they will be deleted. Personally,I leave this box checked. That way if I run CCleaner I still have time to "remember". Everybody gets "tired" , "foggy" or what have you. CCleaner has helped me safely get rid of these files and returned much memory and performance. This computer had 3 yrs of junk slowing it down. What with power outages, system hangs, inexperience on how to get out of such "hangs" etc., Windows was still working!!! Best Wishes, davey
  5. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Figured I better post this here before New Year comes. Does this mean everything happens first in AUSTRALIA? davey

  7. Hello swamiji, There has been a lot going on with Defraggler. From what I can tell and considering it still being in Beta there is not as much of that kind of info put together yet. Best advice I can give is to review the forum discussion and use your judgement. With your experience, you know what to do!!! davey

  9. Hi p_2v71, If you start CCleaner and look at the options list under WINDOWS EXPLORER and check off RUN (in Start Menu). That should do it. Best Wishes, davey
  10. Hi tinsils, I have a minimum amount of PC experience but I have learned very much on this forum. I do have decades of programming and debugging knowledge. I ran some tests and I think I have found where the problem occurs. It happens when you have a maximized window in CCleaner and you close with the window maximized using the red X icon. This is your fix. Start CCleaner. The window is now Maximized. Click on the minimized icon. The window is gone and CCleaner now shows in task bar at the bottom of your screen. Right click on the CCleaner task at the bottom of the screen. Click on Close. Start CCleaner again. Your CCleaner window shold now be minimized. Try to avoid closing CCleaner with a Maxiized window until bug is fixed. You may need this procedure again until the bug is fixed. Add a link to it in your Favorites in a folder named Temp Fixes. Hope that folder doesn't get too full but it will come in handy. Best Wishes and Happy New Year!!! Help support your local forum. davey

  17. Yeah I have Regseeker also. Did not know it supports Vista. I rarely use it anymore. It allows you to do some dangerous stuff! I needed ERUNT'S back up to restore a couple of times . Notice to all GET ERUNT and NTREGOPT . When I make terrible mistakes I like to completely RESTORE my registry. Best advice I can give so far is leave the registry alone (other than CCleaner Registry cleaning). davey
  18. Hello tomcatonnet99, Do you know how to see hidden files. I am not sure how they were originally set but I have mine hidden because some other users of this computer like to play with things if you know what I mean. Back to basics .What do you mean by "losing yahoo seal"? There is some known bug about "losing Quick Launch icons" Is this what you mean? If so you can reset Quick launch by right clicking on task bar, point at toolbar and recheck Quick Launch .NEW release coming out next week may fix this. davey
  19. Some issues don't reveal themselves until others are rectified. My experience with CCleaner Registry cleaning is that it is a very 'GENTLE" CLEANER COMPARED TO OTHER REGISTRY CLEANERS. I use ERUNT and NTREGOPT available from the author on the NET.These handle backing up and optimizing the Registry and are old reliable FREE products. Wish I had known about PIRIFORM forum a long time ago. Pass it on. davey
  20. Thanks for the good news .Lookig forward to it. Thanks Again for such good, necessary, and FREE products and a great forum. davey
  21. Explore your way to CCleaner in Program Files .You will find the CCleaner folders referred to. davey
  22. Hi ! In this case it is probably because your Cookies are being deleted. Save those important cookies in CCleaner by going to OPTIONS > Cookies and saving some of the more important cookies. These are used by your browser to get you around the Internet quicker. I don't know the complex details but you try saving some deleting others. Remember you don't have to delete any cookies at all .Just uncheck the Cookies option in the Cleaner window. Maybe Cookies get stale after awhile and you want to refresh them every now and then. You control the "Cookie Jar" in OPTIONS > COOKIES. and checking or unchecking the box to delete unsaved cookies in the Cleaner window. You don't have to run CCleaner very often until your browsing slows down etc. unless you visit sites you want kept private.Or maybe some data you want securely deleted. Best Wishes, davey There is also the possibilty half the Internet is down while everbody is out eating cookies with family and freinds. I tried all those sites and had no problems! Are you still having problems?

I must have been tired.I left out an important question.Did you re-boot your computer? davey
  24. Hi beatlebryce, Just a passing thought.I had a similar problem awhile back.I use the Custom option when updating from MS. It suggested I download an updated driver for my modem.Well who wants an outdated driver?Turns out the driver was not for my modem at all.Got the correct driver from my MANU. and voila. Just a flashback. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! davey Did you mean a weird computer or wired computer??
  25. Hi danost, Windows temp files are saved for 48 HRS unless you uncheck the box IN OPTIONS > ADVANCED window. My experience is to reset the option to save for 48 hrs. What I mean is if you uncheck the box and run CCleaner, afterwards go back and recheck the box.Sometimes you have software etc to get out of there before it is deleted. This gives you time to save what you want to keep. Of course, I have never forgotten to move or copy something before it gets deleted. Go to BEGINNERS GUIDE LINK at top of discussion forum. Good Luck !!! MERRY CHRISTMAS !!! davey
