  1. Any of the four basic food groups: 1. Hot dogs 2. Buns 3. Pretzels 4. Soda pop (beer for some)
  2. Hey, man, good link. I am by no means on the way back to school but am sitting and listening to some fine old music as I type. Found on your link. Thanks.
  3. I just installed it with powershadow running, no reboot was required, and it hooked me up to the net, got the password sent via a two step email process. Now when I reboot, the program will be gone, but the installer and the emails are on another drive. TaDaaaa. . .

  5. Happy Birthday!!! Or happy Unbirthday if it's not.
  6. Hi, 1984. I have done what you are talking about by manually removing the registry entries for a program, but it is dangerous as the dickens to do so. It has also been suggested that one could reinstall the program, then un-install it using the add/remove option in control panel. This was, if I remember right, in the case of a program which had been incorrectly uninstalled. Maybe there are restore points dated before CMON was installed? I imagine you had thought of that, tho. CCleaner has that "issues" feature, which might help if some stray registry entry is keeping the beast alive, but better wait for the experts to expound on this before using it. Well, I'm out of ideas. edit: While I was dithering over this post, GCNbball8 made probably the best recommendation.
  7. Thanks again, Hazelnut. FYI: I downloaded it and started the install process, clicked on the "registration" box, was sent to the website, entered a name and email, and had my registration numbers all within about 5 minutes. Saved the email to a .txt file. Shazam. Now a question. I didn't finish the install, as I already have ver. 8, which is OK for XP. Is there any sort of tricky time limit on the installation? One would think that one could install it any time in the future, and use the saved registration numbers. Looks like a really good program.
  8. Hi Dennis. Very sorry you are having trouble. Generous of you to post this quickly, will save many members trouble, certainly will me. Thank you. I just ran regdelnull, it found several null keys. Offered me the choice of "delete y/n " for each one it found, one at a time. I think I know what they are but. . .presently running every scanner in the known universe, to be sure.

    User Ratings?

I just gave you five stars too, Humpty but can't tell that it changed your rating on the board any. As Hazdelnut says: "Try to remain calm. . ."
  12. lusher: "Let me know your thoughts/remarks" Nice application. Very complete. The only reservation I have about it is that it wants store and show information in the online database. Of course, for all I know that may be a good thing. . .maybe I'm just paranoid. The screenshot shows the Comodo firewall message. ps, I agree with Fireyone: don't leave, stay around.

What happened to cause 5.82 to trash windows? Wiping free space? I ask because I am running 5.82. Thanks for posting that.
  14. Thanks, Lusher. Got it, will try it soon.
  15. "So you could be the first to get a McStomachache, or the McS**ts in space" Thats a really scary thought.

    WindowsXP SP3

I agree with you AnthonyA, and also have no reason to think there is anything new in SP3, but will have to wait and see. But, I am going to get it on CD ASAP in case I ever have to do another reinstall. If SP3 really is a rollup and has all the updates, I might get by with little more than using the originals and that one CD to reinstall. Like Rridgely, I am going to stay away from SP3 until it is has run a bit.

    WindowsXP SP3

I am lucky enough to have a fast connection, but it might be a good idea to get SP3 onto a CD, make it easier if you have to reinstall WXP. 350 mb or 42,000,000 updates would take a long time.
