I understand. I get exactly the same result because, as I said, Notepad won't recognize the line breaks and, since line breaks are part of the code, it won't work. Simply enter the line breaks manually.

The Michelin Tweel is (was? haven't heard about it for a while) actually in production for low speed/industrial/construction applications. They were open web because if you close the sides, the web can't flex. I understand the reason they were limited to low speed is they haven't solved the fact that they're very jittery and noisy at speed.

If you're copying from the Code box on the webpage to Notepad, Notepad won't recognize the line breaks. You can: 1. Manually enter the breaks using the Enter key. OR 2. As Andavari suggested, use a text editor which will recognize the breaks. OR 3. Copy and paste the code to WordPad which will recognize the breaks, then copy from there and paste to Notepad. I'm not sure if the last step is strictly necessary but I was told that WordPad could create problems if you used it directly to edit code.

My ISP allows me up to 10 e-mail accounts at any one time so I regularly use 3 for various purposes and sometimes create a temporary for registrations, etc. All 3 long therm accounts download automatically into Outlook so I don't have to check them separately.

CDs use .cda file format. I just checked a pre-recorded CD.

Normally, you would only run CCleaner on the drive on which your operating system resides. If you have another operating system on the other drive, I think you have to install another instance of it. If you just have specific folders or files to clean on the other drive, use Options > Custom > Custom Files and Folders to Clean.

I believe that's in the cookie <username>@google[n].txt. This is problematic because, if you change your preference, it toggles back and forth between [1] and [2].

Do those ccokies show up in the Cookies to Delete list? CCleaner sometimes seems to not "see" cookies that existed before CCleaner was installed or upversioned. Try manually deleting the cookies once.

I've never tried CCLeaner from an account without admin rights but the FAQ page states: "Do I need to be an administrator to run this? - Ideally yes. Although you can still run this as a normal or restricted user, however, some files may not be deleted."

Check out Norton Ghost, Acronis True Image, etc. They create an exact image of the entire hard drive. I used to use Norton Ghost with my previous OS and it was quite painless ... boot off a floppy, select the image to restore (you could save several) and go for coffee.

I've found that if you use a small packet writing application, e.g., Sonic DLA, to write data files to a CD-RW, you may have to use the same or a compatible application to erase or rewrite. I think the file allocation table is structured differently.

What OS and which version of IE? What does CCleaner report when you run Analyze?

I wouldn't worry about small speed variations based on a small sample. I've noticed CCleaner and several similar apps seem to vary randomly in speed. I suspect it's related at least in part to the usual variables ... concurrent processes, fragmentation (MFT, registry & data), location of files on the hard drive (inner/outer edge), etc. Also, if you're using secure deletion, the size of files to be overwritten may contribute to the variation.

If you mean local data files, in Outlook use File > Data File Management and map the path (usually C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst). If it's not there, use Windows Explorer to search for *.pst .

yelloweye, If you don't want to accept the advice that this is a false positive, you can: Contact F-Secure yourself and get their advice. - or - Wait and try to install CCleaner next week. In the meantime F-Secure will probably fix their problem. - or - Go away.

If it is an Excel spreadsheet, Excel should open it but it may not function properly without add-ins (Tools > Add-Ins) since some advanced date functions are not part of the default installation. It could also be a Microsoft Project file.
