Agreed. Even if there is a small performance increase it's probably nothing you will notice. However in the long term, after using PerfectDisk (with SMARTPlacement), I no longer had fps drops in counter-strike, my fps test result in cs source increased and my scores at pcpitstop increased. No other defragmenter did this for me.
  2. I had the same thoughts but I was just curious
  3. There were two areas that said bad drivers: Under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers: Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller and Under System Devices: NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator I was wondering how these are usually updated and if they are a part of other drivers. I have the latest graphics and nForce drivers Thanks

    Erasing CD-RW

Yeah that's probably what it is. Not a big deal anyways. Thanks for both of your suggestions.

    Erasing CD-RW

I don't think there's any problem with the software that I tried, but rather something related to the settings when the CD-RW was burned, because it prevents the data from being erased...maybe there's a program that can get passed this.

    Erasing CD-RW

Already tried that. I don't know what program was used to burn the stuff on the CD-RW.

    Erasing CD-RW

I tried using explorer and programs such as Nero and CloneCD, but none worked.

    Erasing CD-RW

When I try to erase my CD-RW it says it completed but all the files remain on the CD. When I try to erase it manually (clicking on the files and pressing delete), it says the files are Read-Only and cannot be deleted. What's the reason for this?
  9. Same thing happened to me, ctfmon.exe keeps re-appearing even after I remove it, ever since I installed IE7.

    Startup Delay

Thanks for the reply hazelnut, The link you gave me helped fixed my problem. It was something to do with getting an IP address. Now my windows loads much faster. Thanks Again

    Startup Delay

When I reboot my computer and reach the windows xp Welcome Screen there is a huge delay, of about 40-50 seconds before it logs in, compared to before, when it only took a few seconds. I regularly do adware, virus, defrag and registry scan and have 15 processes running at startup. I also tried repairing windows xp. I'm not sure if I made any changes to any settings and I do not have any system restore points to restore to. Any ideas? Thanks
