I use a knife for the jelly or jam, wipe it clean on the other slice of bread, then use it for the peanut butter. I find trying to do it in the reverse order doesn't work as well because the natural peanut butter I use doesn't wipe off very well. If you eat it with the jelly/jam side on top, the peanut butter doesn't stick to the roof of your mouth as badly. In Canada, we generally use "jam", e.g., strawberry, raspberry, etc., (or "marmalade" for citrus) when it's made from the whole fruit, and "jelly" when it's made from the extracted juice, e.g., grape, apple, mint, etc.

CCleaner sometimes seems to not be able to detect cookies that existed before the installation or upversion of CCleaner. Deleting the cookie manually once seems to work for most people. If it's a cookie you want to put in the Cookies to Keep column: 1) saving a copy to another folder and copying it back after the manual deletion seems to work for some people; or 2) just go to that website to create a fresh cookie; and CCleaner should then be able to detect it.

In CCleaner, the problem is deleting HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Data|Settings. I don't use RegSeeker but Andavari has a customized exclude.ini file in the pinned topic at the top of this Software subforum.

Such passwords are usually stored in cookies. After logging on and off your bank, open CCleaner and go to Options > Cookies. Look for a cookie in the left "Cookies to Delete" column that includes your bank's name and move it to the right "Cookies to Keep" column. Alternatively, deselect Cleaner > Internet Explorer (or other browser) > Cookies and don't clean any cookies.

If your question is directed at Elkay, I think we're all agreed he should have "Old Prefetch Data" exactly where you say but if it's not there, the absence of the "detect" registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OptimalLayout must be the issue.

Windows XP was the first version to have Prefetch. Windows ME had a disastrous precursor called Applog. I don't know if Vista has it. EDIT: To change Prefetch parameters in XP: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management \ PrefetchParameters \ EnablePrefetcher - create a new value of type DWORD if EnablePrefetcher doesn't exist - set Data value [0 = Disabled, 1 = Application Launch Prefetch, 2 = Boot Prefetch, 3 = Prefetch All]

That autocomplete list is saved in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.NK2. AFAIK, CCleaner doesn't normally touch that file. Could you have somehow have erased or moved that file some other way? FYI, Microsoft's suggested cleaning method of deleting entries manually does not appear to actually delete the entries ... it seems to merely toggle the entries to not display.

That's probably because the cookies that are changed by your visit to the site (often when you logout of the site) are effectively new. Some cookies change every visit, others only change if you save a setting, others never seem to change. I believe you'll find the Date Modified on the cookies CCleaner now sees will all be after your CCleaner install date while those that CCleaner still can't see will be earlier.

CCleaner sometimes doesn't "see" cookies which existed before CCleaner was installed or upversioned. If you can see newer cookies, that's the explanation. You should be able to export a copy of the cookies, clean and copy them back. If that doesn't work, you'll have to recreate the cookies by going to the websites. EDIT: I've only tried the "copy back" in IE6.

It definitely used to be a problem but with modern devices the biggest risk is probably just data corruption. However, you'll find differing opinions. Google "USB surprise removal". EDIT: Almost forgot ... with Windows versions earlier than XP, a surprise removal can crash the PC, losing other data that was unsaved.

There are some softwares that claim to be able to do delete the icon but I don't think it's advisable. The Safely Remove icon is for all USB devices. The HD may never be removed but are you sure you'll never connect a flash memory drive, digital camera, MP3 player, etc.?
