  1. Did you tick the "Adobe Flash Player" checkbox in the Applications tab ?
  2. The shades of greyscale are supposed to turn into a color after you analyze a disk. Try analyzing again ?
  3. To clean Thumbs.db files, a program needs to look into each and every folder on the drive. That's not how CCleaner works.
  4. Because often fragmented files that can't be defragmented have a good reason not to be, e.g. NTFS metadata or System Restore Points.
  5. The main problem is, since there are hundreds of millions of people on the Internet, even if 0.01% of all people enter their credit card number, it means tens of thousands of people. Same thing with spam.
  6. You can already do that in the taskbar properties;)
  7. Not for MSDN/TechNet subscribers.
  8. Which version of Windows are you using ? From your specs, I think it's Win95 or 98 ?
  9. No. However, you can simply disable it - if you ever encounter a ClickOnce app, you'll be able to use it by re-enabling the addon.
  10. Well, of course, if you have another hard drive to do a complete disk image, it's even better. Sorry, I didn't think about that when you said "backups".
  11. Install the WGA. Its false positive detection rate is now really low. Unless you are using a pirated copy of Windows, simply install it, run it...and don't worry about it anymore. I don't think CCleaner will add something to help people who cracked Windows.
  12. 2010 has RTM'd days ago, but it's only for MSDN and TechNet subscribers now. Don't remember when it will be sold for everyone.
  13. Backups != System Restore. System Restore can help you to recover your system. If you do daily backups and don't mind having to reinstall Windows and all your programs if something (virus, drivers, badly-written program) goes wrong, and you really want free space... you can disable System Restore.
  14. It adds support for ClickOnce apps. Seriously, do you think Microsoft are so bad they would want to install an addon that does nothing ?
  15. I think the older cache entries are deleted when there are newer ones - not sure it's like that it works, but that would be logical.
  16. I don't think so. Prefetch files contains path to data, not exact location on drive.
  17. Microsoft hasn't really chosen a good way to install it - but they wouldn't simply do that if it was useless. It adds ClickOnce support. Why didn't you simply disable it ?
  18. Don't remove the .NET Framework one - you don't know if you'll need it one day.

    Forum Upgrade

I don't. Firefox finds some errors in the CSS, but that's all. (using FF 3.6.3)
  20. No, but if Symantec's report was well done, they'd have pointed that out. Other companies probably do the same, too. Which is why a path time average doesn't really mean anything. Really ? Always thought it wasn't. How does Opera Software earn money then ?
  21. Select Secure file deletion (1 pass) in the settings, and include the file you want to be cleaned. (don't forget to tick the "Custom files/folders" checkbox) If the files you want to delete permanently are already deleted, tick the Wipe Free Space checkbox (it will take some time)
  22. Maybe Shadow Copies. PS : Deleting System Restore Points on a daily basis is a bad idea.
