  1. Have you had any dealing with the bank of that name beejay? On their site it gives out info on how to disable persistant cookies although I have absolutely no idea if this is of any help ! Internet Explorer 6.0 or later Select "Tools" from the browser menu bar. Select "Internet Options". Select the "Privacy" tab, then the "Advanced" button. Select "Override automatic cookie handling" in the Cookies box. . To disable persistent cookies, select the "Block" option for "first-party cookies", then select the checkbox for "Always allow session cookies". Note: Session cookies must be enabled for President's Choice Financial services online banking to function. To enable session cookies, select the checkbox for "Always allow session cookies." Select "OK" in Advanced Privacy Settings. Select "OK" in Internet Options. As an alternative to completely disabling persistent cookies, you can select the "Prompt" option for "first-party cookies", then the checkbox for "Always allow session cookies". In this case, your browser will ask you whether you want to accept each persistent cookie. EDIT Lablaw is the name of a company under which Presidents Choice sometimes trades as.

  6. Try right-clicking on an empty part of your desktop and choose properties > desktop tab > customise desktop Is your my documents box ticked?
  7. ocx, Your remark in no way helps lolol with his problem. Lolol, Does the vista pack show up in ccleaner applications so you could untick it from cleaning? I'm sure some more of the members here will be able to advise, so hold on !
  8. Hello and welcome to the forum, You say you tried one or two things . Have you tried this, Uninstall ccleaner Install MS VB 6 runtime files and immediately reboot http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en Install ccleaner
  9. I have no real answer here babygirl, there are plenty of recovery products out there and anything would be worth a go in your case. If you have to go down the road of reinstalling, it could be a good idea to keep your programs, and the work you do in the programs backed up separately. A lot of people keep copies of the program installers on an external drive, They also make regular copies of documents, photos, music, and spreadsheets made through those programs and keep them on the separate hardrive. Then if the worst happens at least you have safe copies of all your work. I wish you all the best in trying a recovery prog. Please let us know how you get on.
  10. Find out who was born or died on your birthday at this aptly named site http://www.findagrave.com/php/famous.php?p...eLevel=somewhat
  11. I use cyberlink's power producer gold which ( fortunately for me) came bundled with the computer. I just import the photos, make a slide show with effects and audio then press burn to dvd. So I can recommend this but I'm sure it will cost. Sonic's mydvd and ulead also do this.
  12. I was reading here babygirl http://forums.pcworld.co.nz/archive/index.php/t-21456.html about someone who had a similar problem to you although it wasn't recently, but I wonder if you had downloaded anything similar ( not necessarily the thing she downloaded) Give it a read to the end and although it doesn't sound promising for you, at least it explained how it could happen.
  13. Very good of you to let us know what caused your problem, it all helps to help others. Hope you will continue to join in the forum. I'm sure Mr G will forgive you
  14. Running processes are working now!! Just had an e-mail from Ewido asking me to right click on the ewido icon in the taskbar and choose exit, then open up Ewido again, and it worked. Obviously as you suspected Andavari it was a fault in the program which I am sure they will now fix. Thanks to all who offered advice on this.
  15. Thanks for the instructions Andavari, still no processes listed, but it was worth a try. As you said some of them did not register. I just cannot think what I have on my system that could be stopping it from showing. I don't suppose Erunt's automatic daily backup would make it happen? (Just clutching at straws now)
  16. Tarun Have just installed that updated version at Ewido's suggestion but still no joy. Also sent a hjt log at their request. No nasties. Andavari, Admin account. Your idea of that the regsvr32.exe, what would that do? Also how would I do it, I'm not a batch fiend like you!
  17. I have the paid for version of Ewido4. If you open it up and look under analysis, there is a processes tab. When I open this there is nothing listed. Does anyone else have this happen? If I open the prog in safe mode however the processes are listed. (Thanks Andy for that hint) I have ruled out Defender as my daughter has the same problem with Ewido on her comp and she doesn't have Defender. I have uninstalled, re downloaded, re- booted, turned off e-trust, used ccleaner. Ewido thought it might be to do with bluetooth I had installed but I've uninstalled that and still no joy. They say they are still looking into the problem. In all other respects Ewido works correctly. Any ideas anyone?
  18. Can I ask for this thread to be split. It is about splitting threads and now it's spelling !! Only joking!! It proves rridgely's point that some threads just naturally evolve.

Thanks for letting us know smiley. If someone else gets this message now, we'll know what it might be!
  20. Hello foxconn and welcome to the forum. CCleaner takes things off your computer not puts them on! What is your operating system, XP ? What size hardrive and memory do you have? What kind of things have come on your drive now and where..C drive? Is all your anti-virus etc up to date?
  21. Derek, perhaps I should have been a bit clearer, please post the log in the section you were sent to when you clicked on this link. ( Spyware hell- hijack this analysis) http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showforum=12 If you look at main page of ccleaner forums you will see all the different sections listed.
  22. Hello smiley and welcome to the forum. Ccleaner is usually a safe app to use. However as with anything in life, nothing is certain! You have done a good thing by saving the backup, just watch and see, also reading forum posts can be very helpful as a learning curve. If you haven't already read the beginners guide to ccleaner, here is the link http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=1504
  23. It is about time that people who put their opinions on this forum are not ridiculed by others. Calling people uneducated children because they don't happen to have the same opinions as yourself is a bit below the belt. This is a forum, not a playground.
