I've not used it myself but here is a link to the a-squared online scanner http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/ax/

Hello pippocavalieri, I also have defender, and have it ticked in ccleaner applications, but do not get the icon with the blue question mark in the taskbar prompting me to do a new scan after ccleaner cleaning. Do you have this ticked in defender - tools/options.. "notify if changes are made to your computer by software that is allowed to run..?" I don't, could this be why? I also notice that things that I get asked to allow, get cleaned as well!! Annoying.

Jade, Here is a link to a microsoft article. (I was timed out first and had to click on a redirect link) http://support.microsoft.com/servicedesks/...gn&LN=en-gb It is a very long article which mentions troubleshooting WCECOMM.LOGS (nearly halfway down it also talks about your "pin too high, pin too low problem") I gather you must use microsoft active sync. A little way down it mentions that the files are kept in a temp directory which may be why you have so many. Anyway settle down with a stiff drink and give it a read!

Hello adative, When you "Fix issues" it will ask if you would like to make a back up. If you say yes and something goes wrong (unlikely) you can double-click the back up and it will restore it to how it was.

A bit more reading for you parOx http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000465.htm This one has a download link for a floppy fix for 'ntldr is missing'. http://www.tinyempire.com/shortnotes/files/ntldr_missing.htm

Hello LeonB, I don't really know a lot about these, so before you get some more ideas from other members, here is a free one I found for you to look at. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Network-Tools...c-Grapher.shtml

Thank you Tony, it is now stopped. Another lesson learned !!

Thank you for the replies. It wasn't there when I turned on my comp today. I had a look at it in the control panel, file sharing was not selected so I actived to see what would happen. It told me it would not work as I didn't have the devices to use ( no wireless devices etc ) so I stopped it by selecting stop filesharing. However it is now using 23thousand k in processes. There is also mswnc.exe using 18 thousand k. How exactly do I stop them running please?
-
This process is currently using 23 thousand k. It is in C/programs/windows media player connect. 1. What exactly does it do? 2. Should the process be so large for it?

It would be nice to see a dedicated area for "post tests" such as adding screenshots, posting links etc. so posters could try out these skills without feeling they might mess up a thread. Quite a few other forums have them.

Read this post about hijack this, the download link to the program is at the bottom of the page. http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=1720 It would be a good idea to do this as Andavari says bigbrownlog, and post the log in the hijackthis log section of this forum -
Hello spysnake, Here is a bit of info for you. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=291806 I am sure others here will offer some advice too.

Just caught this on another forum, takes a second or so to load, but it's amazing http://ebaumsworld.com/flash/animator-vs-animation.html
-
In the control panel add and remove programs list, when you highlight one it nearly always says rarely used with a date from way back. What is the reason for this?
-
Thank you Andavari, I have done that.

Cannot see how you could have made that big of a mistake!! I have the plus version by the way. We will wait and see if others on the forum have it listed in applications

Hello Normandie, Just had a look and my ewido is listed under untilities in applications,, but as anti-malware. ( I did uninstall 3.5 first and use ccleaner issues) As you know it's now ewido ant-spyware, so I'm not sure which one is listed in mine!
