Winapp2.ini additions

Winapp2.ini

I added a nice little "How-To" to the first post... thoughts? :)

love it, it's funny cause I was thinking about some sort of "how-to win*2.ini" only yesterday.

Only one suggestion adding that a submittor should indicate what OS(or multitude of OS) the entry was tested on (as well as that they did test it).

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Fixing an entry I had submitted correctly but didn't end up in the file correctly.

[AOL 9.6*]

Default=False

DetectFile=%CommonAppData%\AOL\C_AOL Desktop 9.6

The problem is there was no \ after the ending % on the DetectFile line...

@CSGalloway

I found your previous post painfully obscure.

It was NOT immediately obvious what you were on about.

A little dash of larger size, colour, and boldness would have helped, e.g.

[AOL 9.6*]

Default=False

DetectFile=%CommonAppData%AOL\C_AOL Desktop 9.6

LangSecRef=3022

FileKey1=%CommonAppData%AOL\C_AOL Desktop 9.6\spool|*.tmp

FileKey2=%CommonAppData%AOL\C_AOL Desktop 9.6\bart|*.*|RECURSE

should be

[AOL 9.6*]

Default=False

DetectFile=%CommonAppData%\AOL\C_AOL Desktop 9.6

LangSecRef=3022

FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\AOL\C_AOL Desktop 9.6\spool|*.tmp

FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\AOL\C_AOL Desktop 9.6\bart|*.*|RECURSE

@Hazel

I was responding to a criticism implied by the introduction

"Fixing an entry I had submitted correctly but didn't end up in the file correctly."

@ricktendo64

Glad you can hear me speak even if you can see the writing with colour ! !

oh yes :)

Thank you.

Thanks Saad!

Try changing

DetectFile=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft DVD Wizard Settings

to

Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft DVD Wizard Settings

since it is a registry path :)

How about adding Media Player Homecinema recent history list?

Please read the first post in this thread as to how to submit entries.

[MAL Updater Image Cache*]

[MAL Updater Logs*]
LangSecRef=3023
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Mal Updater 2\MalUpdater.exe

FileKey1=%AppData%\Mal Updater\Users|*.log|RECURSE

The logs rule was a bit tricky, because the logs actually are in %AppData%\Mal Updater\Users\USERNAME\ (for example: Users\rctgamer3\AnimeLogNotes.log).

Is using RECURSE the best way to do it? No other files should be deleted other than the .log files.

Try it with %username% variable
