I have McAfee Internet Security 2011 on both the systems. For some reason so many uninstalled programs empty folders were residing in the location listed here: C:\ProgramData\McAfee\MCLOGS\CoreTech After removing all the subfolders from the location listed above, everything was fine. I restarted the systems and all the needed subfolders were recreated. Please help me to figure out Norton Quarantine files location. In my opinion, removal of quarantined items for Security Programs such as McAfee, MBAM, SAS, NIS, etc., should be separate and unique entries in Winapp2.ini and Winapp.ini. That will allow CCleaner users to "purposely/intentionally" clean out quarantined items. If quarantined item removal is part of a general cleanup entry, users may not be aware that quarantined items are being deleted and could get into trouble if a security program false positive occurs and quarantines a good file. siliconman01
Some people are of the opinion that quarentine files shouldn't be cleaned with CCleaner. I share that opinion too. However, if that is not the accepted "rule", then I recommend that they be a separate unique entry....only to clean out quarantine files. Moderators hazelnut Posted May 16, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 16, 2011 I think that the cleaning (deletion) of quarantined items should only be done through the av/malware app itself. SMalik
Thank you for all the suggestions. Actually I can't even find the location where Norton stores quarantines and related logs. Even after removing Recent History it does not remove the quarantines from the system. McAfee has an option where I can look and remove the quarantines and related logs. I have 7-Zip v9.20 on my system and CCleaner does not remove all the traces of 7-Zip. I am listing another path that need to be added into 7-Zip entry. Winapp2.ini
I typically put out the next version when I feel there's been enough changes made. I always update after a CCleaner version is released. I think I will hold off an update for may until CCleaner 3.07 is out. If you guys want a designated release schedule, I could accommodate that. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
