Adblock Plus for Chrome has issues that being one of them and losing all settings is another! Allot of people have reported it doing what you've posted, and it happened to me and in my case it was not caused by CCleaner in my testing. I'd recommend If you want to use an adblocking software in any Chrome-based browser you should look into Adblock - just realize that sometimes when it has an update it may require uninstalling the old version and installing the new version, i.e.; clean install to avoid issues.

I gave my local police station the phone number and told them the country information since my caller ID machine had all that information stored in its memory. Just post the bug reports in the normal bug reporting area - just make sure to state which version the bug report is for so they know.

As far as the "unallocated/fragmented space" in the registry there's those registry compacter/defragger tools which are suppose to "defrag" it as they say, I personally use one of them two to three times per year on this old XP system and it has never caused a problem. Note that I've noticed Windows will sometimes do that "defrag" itself.

I remember now, those keys are called "String Value" like when you right click and create New->String Value in the registry, and when you right click them and select "Modify Binary Data" that's when you'll see all the stuff they can contain - I once saw one that had allot of stored data for a removed antivirus software. Those can have all sorts of paths stored in them that registry cleaners, etc., ignore if invalid. And if you try to modify them it usually ends up messing them up. See screenshot:

I don't care for the look of the GUI but it's something I could get used to over time. What they've did seems cosmetic. My main complaint however is the color of the titlebar, it sticks out like a sore thumb! However I'm thankful on two parts: 1. It works on WinXP. 2. The functionality and where things are located in the GUI haven't changed. I noticed a fix they've did when selecting drives for Wipe Free Space since in version 4.x I always have to scroll the list, whereas now in 5.x Beta all of the available drives are visible without the need for a scrollbar.

I'd recommend installing Nirsoft HashMyFiles (freeware) which can give you an MD5/SHA-1, etc., hash to know if the files are really duplicates.

I don't know about the key issue as to which is correct. There's PC Decrapifier. I've never used it, however it may help avoid the re-install of Windows.

Some registry values aren't easy to delete, for instance I've seen many jumbled together into a seemingly un-editable area (sorry can't remember it off the top of my head - but it isn't like anyone should play with it either). I've seen where folder locations are referenced, etc., and I've never seen any registry cleaner find them as invalids and tools like RegEdit won't find them in a search.

I got one of those scam phone calls today from Antigua Barbuda, the woman said her name was "Lisa" but it sounded like she said Wisa with her butchery of the English language. She said she was calling regarding my Windows 8 computer having a virus and is insecure, and I knew immediately it was one of those scam calls. She said can I help you with your Windows 8 computer. So I wanted to have some fun and I told her I knew my computer had a virus and that it's been giving me diarrhea everytime I use it, then I asked if she'd give me a kiss so I'd feel better. She hung up the phone.

Fire is a secure way! With how cheap hard disks (the old magnetic type) are nowadays someone could buy the computer and put in their own brand new hard disk - if an OS installation disc is also available.

On very rare occasions they could quickly release a minor bug-fix version, however the version number has always historically changed when that happens. Nothing has been officially stated in the Announcements area of any changes to v4.19, and nothing has been told to the volunteer moderation staff. If you ever question a download that makes you suspicious of it use a free online virus scanning service such as: Jotti, MetaScan Online, VirusTotal, etc.

As you've stated I'd also prefer CCleaner have the ability by default to get rid of DOMStorage, which has been discussed on here for sometime by now. I don't know who started the discussion about it which made me realize I also needed to start deleting it regularly. The initial amount of it I found was allot (too much actually) which was several years worth. I'm thinking Avira Antivirus also creates junk in there too because more of it needs to be cleaned after installing Avira.

I've seen better wallpaper on an actual wall inside a house, just sayin'.

I have CCleaner get rid of DOMStore cache via Winapp2.ini, the line below can be modified to suit your Windows versions path to it since mine is XP. And it always has junk in it everytime I clean! %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\DOMStore|*.*|RECURSE

Your CCleaner version is outdated v4.19.4867 is available, although I don't know if updating CCleaner will fix the Winzip 19 issue.

If that extension is for a software you have installed you can stop the registry cleaner from detecting it by: Right-click -> Exclude
