  1. Google translation from French to English (not perfect, but it will do):
  2. People would be wondering if it was Win10 compatible or not, good to see you've stated it works.
  3. What is: TO I.e.; the full name not abbreviated because I haven't a clue what it is. Some game I think. You can give game developers ideas directly either by posting on their forums or emailing them.
  4. MVPS HOSTS File updated 5 August 2015 http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm
  5. If XP Home is SP2 there's a known issue: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=43027&do=findComment&comment=260079
  6. Try Firefox (or a clone of it), or Chrome (or a clone of it). I've never liked browsing this forum with Internet Explorer as it does things slightly different but more-over slightly annoying when compared to popular third party browsers.
  7. I've split the above posts from the original topic, since it went off topic.
  8. One thing I just remembered was that old Firefox Portable v28.0 was a clean "install", and I upgraded over it to Firefox Portable v39.0, so only one update and one profile change I've had since v28.0 - which could've been why I didn't have any slowness issue.
  9. For me it is significantly faster than the previous Firefox Portable v28.0 I was holding onto forever. One of the main reasons I even updated was for faster speed. Perhaps it's your Firefox profile (my old profile worked fine), or add-ons. Usually it's the profile which has to start anew to remedy any speed issues in Firefox.
  10. I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to Firefox v39.0, I don't care for the changes in it but at least it's new.
  11. The usual stuff to try: * Empty Temporary Internet Files * Reboot your modem if it's cable or DSL. * Restart your computer. Possibly that old version of IE doesn't help matters, some sites won't allow browsing when someone uses IE 8.x.
  12. Hazelnut was only helping, and properly so - even if that wasn't exactly what you wanted to know because; 7-passes overwriting is complete overkill and a waste of time on modern hard disks, and is unnecessarily stressing the hard disk. Search or browse these forums for a plethora of other topics discussing the matter. And like Augeas stated try the portable version of CCleaner, you could unzip it into your own unique My Documents folder so that it only works via your profile.
  13. They must be under the impression some of those device driver updates won't render Windows unbootable. People will need to make disk images!
  14. That will be the main reason why I won't bother with Windows 10.
  15. Your own personal opinion in that case however the only way to catch the people or rings doing such illegal things is to report it directly to the people who need to know about it to stop it. I reported it because the government makes it very easy to do so - as long as you have retained the information available which in my case my caller I.D. had the information needed for reporting the phone number it was called from.
  16. Beware of an IRS phone scam here in the U.S. where some British sounding man states he's an officer and you'll be in trouble if you don't phone him back. It's a scam! Edit: If anyone gets an IRS phone scam, or IRS email scam here in the U.S. it can be reported to the government on this page: https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml
  17. It's good to hear a success story. I've had a couple of friends asking me already for help with it (even though I will likely never dabble with it anytime soon). One has a trashed system from the update but I declined to help.
  18. It is NOT an anti-malware, anti-virus, or anti-spyware. Just because allot of YouTube videos show off a new version of some malware removal software which usually always starts with them first running CCleaner to remove temporary files and the web browser cache - which can save them a ton of time during the malware removal scan phase doesn't make it a malware remover. In no way did CCleaner detect and remove malware, and any resident malware would just re-download or re-install what's been deleted.
  19. Also matters if there were allot of small files, they take longer to delete.
  20. I would've thought apples. Well maybe fermented apples, me thinks Nergal needs a beer.
  21. 3rd party software firewalls can do the same.
  22. Then they should lower their prices.
  23. It's listed for less money at $24.95 on the official homepage (don't know if that has to do with where you live in the world though): http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner It's an annual/yearly fee.
  24. Your version of CCleaner is out-of-date, 5.08 is the newest version. The changelog mentions improvements of cleaning RealTimes. I've moved this post to the Suggestions area of the forums, i.e.; a suggestion for them to update the cleaning.
  25. Good find Hazelnut. The topic is now closed.
