They must be under the impression some of those device driver updates won't render Windows unbootable. People will need to make disk images!

That will be the main reason why I won't bother with Windows 10.

Your own personal opinion in that case however the only way to catch the people or rings doing such illegal things is to report it directly to the people who need to know about it to stop it. I reported it because the government makes it very easy to do so - as long as you have retained the information available which in my case my caller I.D. had the information needed for reporting the phone number it was called from.

It's good to hear a success story. I've had a couple of friends asking me already for help with it (even though I will likely never dabble with it anytime soon). One has a trashed system from the update but I declined to help.

It is NOT an anti-malware, anti-virus, or anti-spyware. Just because allot of YouTube videos show off a new version of some malware removal software which usually always starts with them first running CCleaner to remove temporary files and the web browser cache - which can save them a ton of time during the malware removal scan phase doesn't make it a malware remover. In no way did CCleaner detect and remove malware, and any resident malware would just re-download or re-install what's been deleted.

Also matters if there were allot of small files, they take longer to delete.

Your version of CCleaner is out-of-date, 5.08 is the newest version. The changelog mentions improvements of cleaning RealTimes. I've moved this post to the Suggestions area of the forums, i.e.; a suggestion for them to update the cleaning.

If it were me I'd completely uninstall Office and reinstall it, especially if the repair install you mentioned doing didn't fix anything. If you've ever run a registry cleaning program there's many that will damage Office unless there's several excludes put into the registry cleaner to ignore certain registry keys that Office requires to function properly.

Yes and there's been talk in the past about how the highways in the U.S. could benefit from 100% computer controlled autonomous ("self-driving") cars by drastically lifting the speed limit from 75mph to over 100mph. One guy talked about going 150mph or faster on the highway is a possibility with connected cars that talk to themselves to make crashing a thing of the past.

I've had that happen several times since Microsoft ended support of XP. I used to be completely impatient waiting for it and would reboot quickly, however if waiting several minutes in my case it would eventually load to the desktop, after several of these having to wait several minutes for it to load it self-fixed the problem all on its own. My guess is a buggy XP update from March 2014 or April 2014 is causing it - can't prove it though, or some registry issue.

And what did I just post about the other day... driver issues, just knew it. Graphics drivers on Microsoft Update have historically been something to completely avoid. Although it's very interesting it happened before the OS was officially released. I wonder if any device/hardware companies would take Microsoft to court for causing driver issues to their customers, like Nvidia for instance, etc. Anyone that has Aladdin/Sentinel HASP License Manager installed which allows you to use some licensed software be prepared for Microsoft Update to break the hell out of that too. I've seen where updating it makes it impossible to use some licensed software that relies upon a specific version of Aladdin/Sentinel HASP License Manager.

Thinking primarily on a safety point it could help. May help parents keep their kids occupied on long trips too. Although I don't know if it would be the same experience I had as we'd drive by cows when I was young and mooo at them here in the midwest.

With everyone reporting it was just Jeep I felt like it would go further because Uconnect is what they use in so many vehicles. Many a YouTube video states it's the best infotainment system in a car.

I've never seen a single registry cleaner function as you've explained. Registry editors for manual cleaning do that via searching though. It would be an interesting concept although the complexity of the registry means if you for instance only search by vendor name you're going to miss a plethora of leftover no longer needed keys that don't go by/under the vendor name and also some use 3rd party software to make theirs function.
