  1. You already know I am as we're both MGS fans, and that's the one MGS game I've been waiting for with an open world. I'll be getting it on PS4. I wonder if it will be the last Kojima game with Konami, see here why. I'd love for Rockstar Games to hire Kojima for GTA VI.
  2. If CCleaner is always getting stuck on the Recycle Bin it could be caused by a corrupt Recycle Bin. See here for a fix: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=42673
  3. I get what you're at rridgely, but such services and even websites that supposedly allow "legal" downloading can be in the grey sometimes. And true they are a way to discover new artists. That's one thing I'll never have, the stuff I listen to will never be played on the radio.
  4. Wiping free space can stress a hard disk - that holds true rather it's CCleaner or some other tool doing it.
  5. I've known it for years. One interesting tidbit about though is you do need to change the homepage that's in it by default, see the reason why here by reading the Homepage Warning area: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/iron_portable
  6. Bad news, I used DownThemAll in the past when I was on dial-up, and then when I only had very slow 1.5mbps DSL. What he's saying about it being another Chrome-clone I already have a partial sense of that with Firefox today instead of something down the line because Mozilla has really dumbed down stuff too much for those of us that like to tweak the GUI by moving stuff around, etc. Maybe they should learn from Opera's mistakes because uniquely different browsers are actually a necessity, but it's probably cheaper for them to just compile their own Chrome-clone. Perhaps the DownThemAll developer could go from making it an add-on to a separate program altogether that can be installed with no need for Firefox.
  7. Same here, it just works! -------------------- Maybe Piriform could delve into cleaning that area, then again maybe they won't. I'd imagine they'd need to very thoroughly examine the changes, etc., to make sure it wouldn't cause serious issues which are easy enough to undo if someone has a disk image of the OS drive, but I feel allot of people probably don't.
  8. Try this: 1. Disable having it run on startup via the settings. 2. Manually create a new shortcut pointing to ccleaner.exe in your User Profile Startup folder located in the Start Menu>All Programs area. That will effectively have it load and just sit there waiting for input from you.
  9. They'll say sorry, but still steal peoples information!
  10. Still unclear what you meant Trium. The advertising thing shocked me blaring loudly in my speakers when I could clearly see on my screen the ability to update to premium. I wonder how many other people have uninstalled it after having an experience like I did since it's a big turn-off. Nergal most sites like that are as you stated Evil towards artists, etc. Who knows they may slip up one day and be shut down due to some licensing violation.
  11. Only a short amount of time ago Sony made them the default music service for the PlayStation, I personally uninstalled it days ago before the privacy policy change due to having some music playing and then an advert to buy a premium account blared through my speakers which was enough for me to get rid of it. I've found out personally that they're extremely difficult, or near impossible to get your account fully closed and someone else on their forums backs up that as he also couldn't get his account closed, and changing the preferred email settings for them to never send you email is ignored.
  12. CCleaner has wiped those out for years for both SpywareBlaster and Spybot-S&D if Site Preferences is enabled. You also can't have it enabled if you're manually typing in sites to block, as those would be wiped out too.

    Disk Image

The official documentation is located at: http://www.piriform.com/docs/recuva If you're a licensed user of Recuva Professional which has the disk imaging you can get support here from Piriform, or wait for someone familiar with the Pro version to chime in. I'm not familiar with the Pro version to assist.
  14. I'd recommend only using Disable, that way you can very easily undo anything - similar to how MSCONFIG functions in a non-destructive way. If you choose Delete the destructive way and a program has no functionality to re-enable itself to start with Windows via settings you'd end up having to do a repair install or complete reinstall of such a program. I'd also recommend before changing anything that you make a System Restore Point to very easily undo any unwanted changes. Also see the official documentation about Auto-Starting Programs: http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/using-ccleaner/managing-auto-starting-programs
  15. Depends what you're after. Do note that the Portable Free build has some features disabled such as Monitoring which wouldn't be essential for a portable environment.
  16. The only way around it is to disable/untick Site Preferences in CCleaner. You could try the built-in Firefox cleaning to see if it doesn't wipe out the SpywareBlaster blocks, from past memory I think it also removed it. If using a new enough build of Firefox you can go into 'Tools>Options>Privacy' or type into the address bar about:preferences#privacy to get into Firefox's privacy settings.
  17. You can either manually delete the leftover file(s) from the root of the disk you ran Wipe Free Space on, or you can run Wipe Free Space again and allow it to run uninterrupted until it finishes which will reclaim the lost disk space.
  18. Already known, there's a topic about it here, and since there's already an existing topic I'll close this one. Also already known via an Internet search here.
  19. That's what it does, it automatically cleans and exits without any user interaction. Effectively the same thing as running: ccleaner.exe /AUTO Edit: Also see the CCleaner documentation/help site: http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner
  20. It just takes someone to ask to clean a certain file/path, or for someone to supply the means to clean it such as via winapp2.ini.
  21. Maybe someone from Piriform will chime in? Some people claim it phones home. One thing is the CCleaner.exe file is a signed file with a digital signature/certificate, that in of itself could possibly cause Internet access. Just speculation on my part however I'd imagine it would do it regularly if for instance the Windows root certificates were outdated - those can be updated via Microsoft Update however.
  22. Check your program files folder to see if Foobar2000 and Winamp are in them and installed. Note that other programs that can use Foobar2000 plugins and Winamp plugins can create registry data like that (for instance CDex can create the Winamp key when configuring some plugins it has which are taken from Winamp).
  23. It isn't allowed on the forums to discuss or compare similar or competing products vs Piriform products. Of course you wouldn't have known this.
  24. Foobar2000 is a free audio player, at some point you must have had it installed. You may have to change the permissions on registry keys that can't be deleted, here's a search for such: https://startpage.com/do/search?query=windows+10+change+registry+permissions+take+ownership

    Notepad++

They need to keep it relevant or people could forget about or switch to something else.
