  1. Yeah but nobody bought the Gushy Purple Berries name. I think it might relate to the fact blue dye can be gotten from them. (I made that up but it could be true) It's because Greek is Cyanococcus (Cyano - Blue kokkos- berry)
  2. My problem is it's a requirement for the main recording software I use. I guess i'll just have to lock down it's use of internet resources somehow.
  3. Lol me too, that's why I haven't checked back in on this, I've yet to be on a PC since last posting.
  4. Unchecking sessions (or maybe site preferences) under chrome in ccleaner, should fix this issue if I remember
  5. Dude, there's no malware. What your seeing is either a general warning given for potentially dangerous software (due to registry function) or the bundled google software. Everything said above, almost two years ago, still applies. If you got ccleaner from piriform there is zero chance of malware
  6. Ah, well then, that makes more sense that a 2013 application might suffer from non-64bit support
  7. Ccleaner (et al) indeed install as native 64bit (as I understand the statement to mean installed in "program files" folder as opposed to "program files x86" folder) on a 64bit machine. If the machine is 32 bit the 32bit version is of course installed. It reallllllllllllllllly suprises me that revo doesn't fully support 64bit, that's just plain stupid on their part in 2016
  8. http://publisher.brothersoft.com/ccollomb.html I use 9.1 64bit. But i'll need to investigate more this bothersoft stuff is new since last I downloaded it
  9. Check your popup blocker, should be a brothersoft page http://www.brothersoft.com/download-unlocker-portable-431245.html
  10. They, like ccleaner, do offer a zip version with no bundle And they fully advertise in the changelog that there's optional delta bar Right now firefox phishing protection blocks the site which in my opinon is silly But here's a screen grab
  11. Edge may infact still be running in the background or from within other applications. Ccleaner can't clean while in use are most (maybe any) windowsUI apps are running and certain applications, such as Microsoft Office or many 3rd party applications, may use edge to render HTML.
  12. ServicePack3 of XP is a requirement of ccleaner but other than that, as above stated, it should work fine
  13. Antivirus tools do have unprecedented access to certain parts of the OS but I think only those that get special license from Microsoft do (such as the intel key in the registry).
  14. in what way?, just because it has an app store and Apps as well as applications? One is perfectly able to ignore those aspects and use it like any other Windows machine, that's what I do.
  15. possible spammer though s/he is, ReneeQuil is right kinda lol
  16. If it's flagged by only a few, it's false positive; if it's flagged by Eset, and maybe one other I don't remember, then it's due to the bundled google or other offers (the slim build doesn't trigger that one) VirusTotal should be looked upon as a majority wins when scanning known software. Honestly, imho, less than 4 is no worry, with more increasing the worry factor proportionally.
  17. And my 5.16 seems perfect cleaning when I do what I said, I've never even had to kill dllhost, but others have reported it. It only works, when I manual clean in ccleaner as opposed to monitor, and I do use edge as my main browser.
  18. Also you should be able to deactivate, old approved devices
  19. Where's the issue, Edge like all other non-internet-explorer browsers must be fully exited (sometimes including a dllhost.exe) before cleaning. This also includes many Windows UI apps (Such as Windows Mail) and any applications that use Windows' inbuilt html renderer (such as Outlook). It's not the fault of ccleaner
  20. Is safari fully exited? Is itunes open (perhaps it's browser uses safari's databases idk)
  21. http://www.mombu.com/microsoft/windows-terminal-services/t-what-is-a-bcachebmc-file-138782.html The last two answers should be what you need. As far as why ccleaner doesn't remove it, are you connected to a terminal services machine when you clean?
  22. Please make sure firefox has no processes in the task manager ("show more detail" on win 8/10 processes in 7 and older) before running a clean
  23. Gosh, I wish the thanks button worked on this forum.
  24. what is meant by guarantee? By everything? Ccleaner does it's best to clean the junk from a PC. Does that mean, if somebody finds some archaic trace of internet junk left on a PC, that Piriform is in some way libel? No, so the answer is Yes with no guarantee.
