  1. any winapp2.ini addition to the main package would be silly BECAUSE IT WOULD JUST BE EASIER TO PUT IT IN The embedded app. A GUI, IMHO, would not work because each entry is tailored to the exact program it deals with

    Ask T Bar

Two things, Download and run autoruns and see if you can find it in the logon sectgion or try to reinstall the toolbar (http://www.download.com/Ask-Toolbar/3000-12512_4-10201062.html) and then remove it if these fail try this from http://forums.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/...id=55694#M74566 after that you should be able to add/remove it normally
  3. You can either sign in as the other account and it will clean their account or use RunAs and run it as their account (http://www.ss64.com/nt/runas.html)
  4. Hi this is a known thing and there have been recent Winapp2.ini entries created for it Here are some
  5. Vista Needs UAC approval for CCleaner
  6. Anthony beat me to the punch, but yeah Maxthon2 is included in the Winapp2.ini if for whatever reason you don't want the whole winapp2 than here is the entry [*Maxthon Browser 2]LangSecRef=3022DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Maxthon2\Maxthon.exeDefault=TrueFileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\Maxthon2\Temp|*.*
  7. Hi in short many Antivirus and AntiMalware do not "correctly" report their registry entries as belonging to them. This is the stop malware writers from easily disabling your program, but it also stops CCleaner from identifying a reg entry as needed. As Tarq said it's probably just one or two. However Please read my Signature and you'll be doing yourself a big old favor.
  8. Did you make a backup of the reg entries you deleted? I'm guessing you let it delete something along the lines of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MailFileAtt HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mapifvbx.object HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mapifvbx.object.1 or something else that is needed. Please read my signature
  9. I think YoKenny's correct, however will Original Poster please tell us the names of the "files to be deleted" and that s/he has pressed the clean button, and not just the Analysis, so we can confirm this
  10. MM, Did you use the registry cleaning section??? if so Please read my signature and you'll see why what happened happened Also please take and post a screenshot of the error and/or what the error says here, otherwise there's not much us users can do for you
  11. Hi, there was a minor update,I think on december 2, not big 'nuff for version change different Y in the string x.x.YYY current version is 2.14.763
  12. Moderators can you get word to the developers on this? this is true also for me (see attached) The OK button returns after deleting certain parts of the string (in this case of this string if you delete everything starting from \12.0). at first I thought it was the presence of numbers but then I tried this string \Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0 The Ok button returned when I deleted so that it looked like \Software\Adobe\Acrobat also it is NOT the presence of spaces as \Software\Adobe\Acrobatr also grays the OK button something is off and strange.
  13. Winapp2.ini (http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=1110) currently DOES include Limewire's Incomplete Folder [*LimeWire]LangSecRef=3022DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\LimeWire\LimeWire.exeDefault=TrueFileKey1=%userprofile%\Incomplete|*.*|RECURSEFileKey2=%userprofile%\Application Data\LimeWire|fileurns.cacheFileKey3=%userprofile%\Application Data\LimeWire|createtimes.cacheFileKey4=%userprofile%\Application Data\LimeWire|responses.cacheFileKey5=%userprofile%\Application Data\LimeWire|ttree.cacheFileKey6=%userprofile%\Application Data\LimeWire|gnutella.net
  14. I think this is why your co-worker thinks this My guess you do the clean, you don't restart, the coworker runs his/her program and sees stuff still listed in the dat, the co-worker tells you about said program doing a clean without a restart. So here is the Difference: CCleaner deletes the dat file (a useless file that grows and grows) allowing the computer to remake it Index.dat Analyzer opens and reads the dat files and allows you to change it by selectively removing entries. So, as Hazelnut stated it's more a matter of Preference (I don't, usually use CCleaner for my Internet Track Cleaning, because I prefer a product that deletes information auto-magically on browser close)
  15. Woot!!! glad you figured that.I think somebody was working on a Chromium Winapp2 Question for you How does Chromium differ from Chrome???
  16. Chai, I too am a "highly skilled tech person" but I have to agree with dennis on two points 1) most users of CCleaner are not HSTP and 2) even someone such as us has Multiple Reg entries which shouldn't be cleaned and therefore before even running an autoclean would have to enter many exclude keys into the exclude (especially in the file extention section) and it would make it harder for portable users such as myself to go into a "strange" computer and run an auto. On top of that there's my signature. Dave Green, Check this out http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=14936
  17. Brillion, did you use a cutom location for the install of Google Chrome Here are the Current (2.14) embedded winapp settings for Chrome [Google Chrome - Internet Cache]Section=Google ChromeLangRef=3161Default=TrueDetectFile=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeSpecialKey1=N_CHROME_CACHE[Google Chrome - Internet History]Section=Google ChromeLangRef=3162Section = ChromeDefault=TrueDetectFile=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeSpecialKey1=N_CHROME_HISTORY[Google Chrome - Download History]Section=Google ChromeLangRef=3163Default=TrueDetectFile=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeSpecialKey1=N_CHROME_DOWNLOAD[Google Chrome - Cookies]Section=Google ChromeLangRef=3102Default=TrueDetectFile=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeSpecialKey1=N_CHROME_COOKIES[Google Chrome - Saved Form Information]Section=Google ChromeLangRef=3164Default=FalseDetectFile=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exeSpecialKey1=N_CHROME_FORM

    reinstalling CC

Hi, CC is Freeware (Thank you for donating Very Few Do) So you can Whenever you want redownload and reinstall from the CCleaner Downloads Page http://www.CCleaner.com/download/downloading And you can download it as many times a you want on to as many computers as you want (and there's even a Portable Version if you want to keep it off your drives and on a flashdisc/Memory Stick. Again The Developers very much Appreciate Donators and You did a good thing, even though maybe after reading this you feel like you were forced into paying Thanks The Nicer, Happier Nergal of Cuthah
  20. Sorry I don't see it. seems to work for me in-fact the context menu (analyze {ENTRYNAME} Clean {ENTRYNAME} 1) does not even open until I release the Mouse Button 2) (at least for me) does not even exist in the reg section (nor do I believe it is supposed to nor do I think it should be included as this would very VERY unsafe IMNSHBVEO) also may be referring to the shell context menus which I cannot speak on as I don't use them (it would defeat my having a portable version)
  21. ????? AT&T is a Virus Checker ??? It's a False Postive, CCleaner does some Virus like things so is considered by a few overly egar AVs as one. Try the no install version at http://www.CCleaner.com/download/builds
  22. As Davey said "you already d***ed around with the Registry," but it is not unfixable (in fact it may be as simple as reinstalling Java) do you still have any of javas installed? Go to add/remove programs and see in Java is listed (for most people there will be many many listed and you may want to kill a couple of birds by removing all but the latest version). the 1.6 just means (usually) 1.6 or higher. The latest version for windows is Java 6 update 10 (aka 1.6.0.10) For further usage of the reginteg section Please read my Signature. The section by section advice in it will allow you not to have to comb through a giant registry backup like you are asking us to do.
  23. Hi zills, You should only remove entries from your registry that you know you don't need. Please Read my signature Also if you made a backup of the reg entry you can just double click the backup and restore the removed entry(s)
  24. Hi, Like many Antivirus and Antimalware programs Comodo antivirus probably does not report correctly to the MUI chache, this is done to make it harder for Malware to disable your protection and/or (as in this case) your protection's ability to update itself. It is common to see one or more entries report as missing MUI in regards to your antivirus solution. If you ARE currently using the Comodo product then you can ignore the entry. Highlight the Reg entry right click it and choose open in regedit Go to Options Exclude Click the Add Registry button Choose HKCU from the drop down and type in the key's value (in your case it'll be something like software\microsoft\windows\shellnoroam\MUIcach\comodo ) Hope that helps
