When I was a youngster my mum would put me on the train in Durham and my grandparents would meet me in London where I would stay for the summer vacation. It sure wasn't 500KM/hour and more like 80KM/hour but I loved the smell of the smoke and the steam. When I was in Japan I took the Bullet Train from Mount Fuji back to Tokyo and was impressed by its speed that was about 200KM/hour and cleanliness.

Sometimes even when you do un-install an older version of Sun Java it leaves remnants of itself in old Folders. Use Windows key + E to open Windows Explorer then navigate to C:\Program Files\Java then delete the old un-needed Folders. Use the on-line Secunia Software Inspector to insure that you have no vulnerable applications installed: http://secunia.com/software_inspector

It still aches like mad but a couple of Tylenol pain killers work for about 6 hours. I have to get a root canal operation that scheduled for March 28th ( $$$ ) Thankfully my pension health benefits covers about 80% of the cost.

WinME got a bad rap because it had no real mode DOS support so games that required it would not work I don't wast my time with games as I find learning things on the Internet regarding Safety on which my Microsoft MVP award is based is a most fascinating game. WinME didn't cost me anything just like the system unit and as I'm retired and on a fixed income it is just a test system for me.

I have not had a problem with Glary Free but I will not run the duplicate .dll finder as each installed application needs its own release of the applicable .dll to work correctly and thus this could hose the system especially if you let it remove the Windows duplicate .dll files

WinPatrol has a good start up manager where things can be temporarily disabled or removed all together: http://www.winpatrol.com It has many other good features as well such as Active Tasks monitor, IE Helpers, Services, Displaying scheduled tasks and displaying cookies that can be kept or deleted.

I use the Windows firewall on my XP systems but the venerable old WinME system only has the modem firewall for protection but I don't use it much any more. I use the IE7Pro add on but I don't use the RSS feed in IE at all. I have used FeedDemon but I'm not into RSS much yet. Yea but by using the PLUS version the information is only one click away. By the way, I received the PLUS version update for free because I recommended WinPatrol wherever I go. Yea but with the HOST file the request do not even leave your system thus not incurring un-necessary network traffic. Its all about what one is comfortable with I can't even upload a pic of what I'm talking about as the upload size is so limiting and I don't want to get into ImageShack slow service.

I use AVG Free on one system and Avast on the others. My DSL modem has a built in firewall. I tried them but they never found anything except cookies that I want. I use Windows Defender. I use it. I don't like Firefox. True except I use HostsMan with HostsServer, hpHOSTS and MVPS HOSTS files and WinPatrol PLUS because I know what they do and how they protect my systems.

Thats a sure sign that the internal lubrication is becoming sticky and soon the fan will start wailing like a banshee or the whine of a dentist's high speed drill. Did the fan come with a warranty? Do you still have the receipt for the fan? Can you take it back to where you purchased it? Major CCleaner bug? Not deleting IE history
YoKenny replied to Allen42's topic in CCleaner Bug Reporting
I find that IEHistoryView from NirSoft permits you to view/delete the IE history events. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iehv.html They have several other useful utilities on that site as well. -
As with everything mechanical it has a lifespan and as the saying goes and probably lost its internal lubrication. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace and its probably a good time to disconnect the system unit and take it outside in a sheltered space and use an air blaster can and a fine bristled paint brush to remove stubborn DustBunnies.
