Moderators Nergal Posted April 21, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 21, 2015 Other than your pc, do you have any evidence to counter this paragraph? When repairing, modifying, or uninstalling a product or when installing or uninstalling a patch, if source media is required the package cache is used automatically and most users will never see a prompt. Only if the package cache is missing or incomplete will Visual Studio setup will prompt to download (if connected) or locate mediaSource: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/heaths/archive/2012/07/26/how-visual-studio-2012-avoids-prompts-for-source.aspx ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Source: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/heaths/archive/2012/07/26/how-visual-studio-2012-avoids-prompts-for-source.aspx I'm not having an issue after removing this. I don't have the product (Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate) that is being discussed in the link. The cache of the products that I have removed are showing in the attached snapshot. Moderators Andavari Posted April 21, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Do we really need FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CD Burning|*.* ? I don't see this location anywhere on Win 7 or 8.1. I don't remember if it was on Vista. WinXP (taken from TweakUI as the default location): %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning In order for it to support XP it would need to remain.
