  1. Try IconTweaker http://joost.endoria.net/ though it didn't like the large vista icons
  2. just knock out the partitions using slate (mentioned above) fits on a single floppy. Free for personal use
  3. Another phantom post http://forum.CCleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=9023 There were 17 updates on our other machine, 14 high-priority
  4. You can have a maximum of 127 devices, so it shouldn't be.
  5. Try Slate http://members.tripod.com/~diligent/harddisk.htm#cleanslate
  6. They have updated the error reporting tool. It's now wider and has a close when finished check box for when you upload the report. Found this out cause Windows Live Messenger crashed when I finished restarting after updating, which autoupdate didn't pick up I had to go to the Windows Update page to get (14 High rated updates)...

  9. no not there. VER3.6 JkDefrag.exe JkDefragCmd.exe JkDefragScreenSaver.exe JkDefragScreenSaver.scr doc (folder) thats all, did I download the wrong build? I d/l it a the-day or so after sputnik recommended it...
  10. There was another post like this in the CCleaner forum I opened it and it was empty except for the title.... I don't think its there anymore. ...weird...
  11. You could possibly set it back to normal in the BIOS if it really has been under-clocked when you sent it in for repairs, NOTE: there may have been a reason for this. Download CPU-Z (aka CPUID) http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php and you will be able to see the details/speed of your CPU I tested one of our machines at systemrequirementslab.com and it said: "You Have: 2.80 GHz Performance Rated at 4.20 GHz" This machine truly has a P4 2.8Ghz, not sure what it means by rated at 4.2 maybe thats what I could over-clock it to According to CPU-Z 2.8Ghz running at 2.797GHz Let us know what that CPU-Z says Though I do like the site, thx for the link.
  12. You should have no problem with loosing settings when you install the new version over the old one. http://www.CCleaner.com/download/builds.aspx there is a lite version of the installer 607KB/ko. The "non-english" problem occurs ONLY if you choose to save to ini(not-default) rather than registry(default) so you should still be fine if you leave that default setting alone.
  13. Correct, Thanks for clearing that up krit86lr.
  14. Wouldn't hurt to try switching ide cables.
  15. Proud NOD32 user :-) I always recommend AVG to any home users, and NOD32 to businesses since I don't know any good free AV that aren't "for personal use only". Never had trouble with it, and isn't very resource hungry, and has picked up all viruses that have ever tried to get access.
  16. Remember, they actually mean jam the sticky stuff made from berries not the wobbly jello (aeroplane jelly) Though if you want to try the latter, its up to you :-)
  17. i can't believe thats on the Microsoft site they actually took notice of the complaints.
  18. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost...998090116581325 It could be cabling or a damaged disc... what kind of condition is the CD in?
  19. I just dl'd and ran it the other day and saw no GUI check box selection just the colored disk blocks being moved/defragged? Ran jkderfag.exe and it defragged all my drives and left a report, all in a single double click definitely recommended.
  20. They didn't test racing... just FPS. I could only play the old wolfenstein3D for short spans or I'd start feeling sick, I think they called it motion sickness most newer FPS don't do it to me. And the way the furniture always faced you, rather dizzying i suppose....
