  1. What do you mean exactly? Can you post a screenshot?
  2. ERUNT has a registry optimizer as well correct? Any differences between the two?
  3. You're very welcome Let us know if you have any other questions.
  4. Click the "Run Cleaner" button on the bottom right of the program. Keith
  5. But... But... Andavari's post says its freeware.
  6. I had the same issue with Ad-Aware myself... I chose to uninstall it because they continue to bloat the program... I am now using Windows Defender for real time spyware/adware protection and SuperAntiSpyware for the occasional weekly scans. Removing Ad-Aware with CCleaner should not cause any boot time errors. Keith
  7. That sucks... I hope she gets over and they get along. I don't like unhappy endings
  8. CCleaner on my desktop at home merely says 3700+ (the processor model), not the frequency... And that's the same way it looks in the registry. So I believe Keithuk is 100% correct. Keith
  9. I don't think that is what Jetvictor is referring to. I think you may need to include the files on D:\ because if I understand CCleaner the way I think I do, it only cleans the currently logged in user's profile on the drive or parition that the OS is installed to. Anything else needs to be included. See the below link on how to include files, folders, etc. Including and excluding files, folders, and registry entries. Hope this helps Keith
  10. That would make sense. Never knew where to find that until today. Thanks Keithuk! I love this forum, I learn something new (whether it be related to Piriform products or not) everyday. Keith
  11. Add to that, what files are you not able to defrag? If they are currently being used by the system (such as $MFT or pagefile.sys), you will not be able to defrag them. Keith
  12. Thanks hazelnut. While there's no real clarity in that thread on what those entries mean exactly, it's reassuring to see others have them and have had no problems after deleting them. I myself have always deleted them without any problems. Keith
  13. I've seen 2 different styles of reporting from CCleaner... On 1 hand, CCleaner reports my desktop's CPU as 2.64Ghz (if I can remember correctly -- I'll confirm when I get home this evening) which is the overclocked speed. On another hand, my laptop most of the time runs at a lower frequency 1.1Ghz-1.6Ghz than it's rated frequency of 2.4Ghz. However, CCleaner still reports it as 2.4Ghz. Maybe CCleaner can't report anything below the rated speed but can report higher? I'm interested to see any information on this matter. Keith
  14. Mine looks just like yours. Maybe in the next version, Piriform can make the scroll down box customizable so that users with more than 1-2 drives can make the height of the box larger. Just a suggestion.
  15. Thanks Piriform... I like the new changes (0-100% progress bar and wiping of disk free space). Keep it up!
  16. I have the same issue with CCleaner now that you mention it... It happened the same way that you explained it. Keith
  17. Actually guys, with a bit of additional digging, I found out TrueCrypt can be run from the USB drive itself so this will end up working out after all. My next step was to create a password protected zip file like some of you mentioned Thanks and I'll let you guys know how this turns out! Keith
  18. Just got through trying TrueCrypt. The thing that I don't like is... I want to be able to use the thumbdrive whereever I go... But this method seems to rely on the host computer having TrueCrypt installed on the computer. I need something else if that's the case. And PenProtect is not free ;(
  19. Great minds think alike. I was looking at this and PenProtect
  20. Hey all, I carry a thumbdrive around with me in my backpack contains my personal documents, budgets, etc; I recently lost an older thumbdrive off my key chain that had the same type of data, just outdated. I realize that it could happen again but would like to put some sort of security on the thumbdrive if possible so if it were to get into the wrong hands, I'd be somewhat protected (it may annoy them enough to not try to view the docs). Does anyone have a freeware solution in mind? Thanks in advance! Keith
  21. Great information to know. Thanks MrRon
  22. Thanks! I'll know next time to visit their site instead of relying on filehippo's technical changes. I knew Java had a page like this, but didn't know Adobe did as well. For some reason, the dowloadable Adobe uninstaller did not remove it completely. I'm glad you mentioned that but I have it completely removed now. Keith
  23. Probably just a little jealous... Hopefully her maternal instincts will kick in and she will let go and accept him... Dogs have feelings too!
  24. I don't see any security vulnerabilities per say, but I do see a significant amount of fixes. Keith
  25. How would anyone get on the internet right out of the box though? Is the 'average' user savvy enough or have the resources to download a browser from another computer, throw it on a disc or thumbdrive and install it? The UAC is terrible. I disabled it after 3 days on my new Vista laptop.
