  1. Just loaded up Revo for the first time today at work... Heard of it and figured it might be useful so I threw the portable version on my work thumb drive with all my goodies. I was pretty impressed. Impressed enough to put it on my machines at home!
  2. That batch file direectly helps me! I have users here at work who run into printer jams all the time and the documents get stuck in the queue. I have to manually go into cmd prompt and stop the Printer Spooler service. This will make my life much easier. Never thought to make it into a batch file. Thanks Dennis!
  3. There's no attached file But if you are in the right place, you will have to change the method security and encryption for the grey boxes to turn white and allow you to enter a key. PS, I've never played COD4 on the computer and I would have used my gaming tag of swagger if I did.
  4. Welcome to the forums!!! Keith
  5. I would agree to the recommendation of recovering your data to another hard drive, flash drive, or other media. This prevents you from possibly overwriting the data that you want to recover if something goes wrong. Taken from Piriform Docs Hope this helps, Keith
  6. Start Menu -> Run Type in "control netconnections" without the quotes. Right click on the wireless adapter and go to properties. There should be a tab for "Wireless Networks", click on it. Look in the list for your router's SSID, left click on it and go to properties. You should be able to change the encryption and password there. Sorry if this isn't 100% accurate, I'm doing it off of memory. I hope this helps. Keith
  7. This may help Eraser Portable v5.82 or straight from there website... standalone "portable" version 5.8.7 BETA Keith
  8. Is it possible? By my research, I'd say no. But my girlfriend's brother in-law has one and wants to know if it's possible and how. Thanks! Keith
  9. Yeah it sucks that you can't trust p2p files as much as you could in the past but so many people download mp3s that they are prime targets for malware. Keith
  10. Decent specs for the price though right? What I am going to do right off the bat is get a new HDD... I need a 7200 RPM HDD so I'll dump another $70 for that. Then I may load either linux or Windows 7 Beta on that bad boy and learn some new operating systems. Worked in Vista for the first time today for a coworker and I must admit. I am very behind. I would have liked to have some sort of dedicated video card but I guess I can't complain too much. I probably won't do too much gaming on it if any.
  11. So I ordered myself a laptop today. I had one back in 2006 but I gave it to my girlfriend in the middle of 2007 when she needed a dedicated computer for school so I was left with just a desktop. After a couple of years of not being able to sit on the couch or in my bedroom while still being able to be on my computer and online, I decided it was time to get another laptop. So I went through the same channel I used last time: Dell Outlet Store I think I got a great deal on this thing. it was $886 with taxes, shipping, and an optical mouse accessory. What do you all think? Here's the specs below: Inspiron 1525 Laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB/3MB cache) Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium Inspiron 1525 Laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB/3MB cache) 6 Cell Primary Battery MEDIADIRECT 3.3 Software MEDIA DIRECT 3.5 Software Keyboard On Notebook Operating System Label Processor Label AOL Software 8X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability Software Software Documentation Dell Support 2.0 Software Software Previously Ordered New 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz (2 DIMMs) Software Resource DVD Operating System DVD Dell Solution Center Software 56K DataFax Modem Shipping Material Bluetooth Wireless Card 355 No Dell DataSafe Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Reader MEDIADIRECT 3.3 Software Earthlink ISP Integrated 2.0 Mega Pixel Web Camera Jet Black No Dell DataSafe Backup Documentation Internal NIC Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 250 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) ISP Search Assist Net Zero ISP 15.4 WXGA Laptop Screen Display with TrueLife Power Cord Image Restore Software Software Wild Tangent Gaming Client Software Roxio Creator 10 65W Adapter Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini Card
  12. Gotcha. Are you going to remove my original post about it and the other thread?
  13. My apologies... I never seen the "report" button until now. :| Will note that for the future.
  14. Typically, Most programs need to be closed in order for programs to edit/delete such things as temporary files because they might be used by the program while it's still open. I would say that's normal. But I'd love to hear someone else's opinion that knows more. Keith
  15. Definitely spam... I hope the mods take care of this. Keith
  16. So when your computer is jacked up because you got some bad advice from a user... Who are you going to blame? Where are you going to flame?
  17. That is crazy.... Malware writers are becoming more and more creative AND desperate. Watch your backs AND your fronts everyone.
  18. How old is the CPU? JUST A GUESS, but could it be that the CPU is so old, it isn't "supported". Supported may not be the correct term... Maybe identified is better. Keith
  19. Are you wanting to delete ONLY the mistyped login/passwords or everything that you enter into those fields? If you want everything to be deleted, the "Saved form history" should do the trick (make sure it's checked). You may want to talk to the developers/moderators if it isn't. I hope this helps! Keith

    RAM

xbrianx, The information you provided is pretty generic. To best help you, how about specifying what type of systems you have... Even better would be to give us the exact make and model of the motherboard. That will tell us exactly what type of memory you can and cannot have in your systems. You can download CPU-Z which is a small, neat little program that gives you hardware information about your processor(s), motherboard, and memory. Keith
  21. So the shutdown after defrag capability is not in the command line parameters? I must have misread the new features. I see it in the GUI version. Just not with df.exe even after doing a df.exe /? in command prompt. Keith
