Issue with Firefox - it won't display after CCleaner
Andavari replied to DevonE's topic in CCleaner Bug Reporting
It may help the devs and bug fixers if you mention: * The CCleaner version you used. * The Firefox version. -
I used 7-Zip to unpack what was needed from the installer without having to install it, which was no more difficult than having the portable ZIP archive.

It's the same thing ClamWin does with the daily virus database file! Update the db and there's hundreds or thousands of fragments, so many fragments that Windows Defrag can't defragment it when it's at something like 1500 fragments - so a 3rd party defrag tool must be used.

How to change your avatar image using Invision v4.2.5

I used Paint.net and make a transparent border around mine, it's easier if it's square though. I used 300x300 with the image well inside the square so it wouldn't be cut-off. -
Win7 updates til at least 1st July 2025? Yeah, right.

Some of the changes make very little sense for usability. -

CCleaner already has the ability to delete DNS Cache although I don't know if it's the same as running a system command like ipconfig /flushdns. It's located in CCleaner at 'Windows > System > DNS Cache'. Never having used it myself I'd assume you'd probably have to reboot after using it for it to be effective.

From the screenshots it does look very good compared to how Win10 looks.

How to change your avatar image using Invision v4.2.5
Andavari replied to Andavari's topic in The Lounge
Some don't know that's how you change the avatar now, I certainly didn't and had to figure it out when asked in a PM by someone. Dumbing down stuff for the sake of making it look "clean" has drawbacks. -
How to change your avatar image using Invision v4.2.5: 1. At the upper-right click your user name. 2. Click Profile. 3. Click the image icon, and then choose your local image file to upload as your avatar. Screenshot example:

The Earth while it's a sphere isn't technically round, as explained here. Hey the magical ice walls keep you from falling into outer space.

Here's some examples: CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|D:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortableESR\Data\profile CustomLocation2=CHROME|D:\PortableApps\IronPortable\Profile

I'm not a fan of the circle images in this forum software version. Seems too restrictive, someone may want something square instead, and don't forget about the triangle fans.

MVPS isn't quite enough! MalwareDomainList is listed in uBlock Origin as a 3rd party filter ("subscription"). I also use their HOSTS file (which isn't updated too often, but worth having): http://www.malwaredomainlist.com/hostslist/hosts.txt

Nobody likes the new forum software much, but messin' with the avatars has to be the last straw!
-
Finally updated it again after being stuck on the old v1.13.8 (Legacy), and this time it's not a mess using v1.14.20 - although I had to restore my settings that I previously made a backup of.

I don't have a Christmas hat to put onto my Ford GT. Avatar that is, I wish I had the actual car - hope Santa is reading this.

MVPS HOSTS File updated 30 November 2017. URL: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

It's not just the Adguard Annoyances List that takes care of the cookies agreement, one of the other filter subscriptions I have also blocks them - I don't know which other it is though.
-
Could also be Windows itself, some updates can botch the OS installation making it buggy, or a combination of software that doesn't work well together such as having two antivirus softwares installed at the same time. However the malware removal advice given in the post above this one is something to seriously consider!

Seems like every major forum software upgrade that the Admins have to play around with the settings.
-
Absolutely, been wanting that literally for years. Then again the developers could help tremendously by categorizing it so things don't just end up anywhere inside of ccleaner.ini, such as: [Options] [App Cleaners] [User Excludes] [User Includes]

I figured out my problem with not being able to post or send PM's, it was because I had DOM Storage disabled in Firefox. Re-enabling it made the forum usable again.
