  1. Are you running it as an admin with uac (or ccleaner's skipuac). It sounds like you preferences are unwritable by your user. Do the marks stay unchecked after, or are they rechecking? Is your preference set to save settings in an ini file or is it registry preferences,?
  2. This is an official company website so an alternative won't be suggested. However it's also a user forum so maybe, like me, they read your first post and couldn't think of helping words. Please make a screenshot of the monitoring preference screen (including the top bar of ccleaner to show version info). Please attach this screenshot to the original post. I've closed this thread as it is a duplicate to your original.
  3. Ccleaner.online is not a reputable place for getting ccleaner. It is not related to piriform, and very well might be malware. Ccleaner should only be gotten from here at piriform.com/ccleaner or an authorized distributor (file hippo is the only one I know of for that). You should immediately go to a TRUSTED antimalware site and get checked thoroughly. Please see rule 10 for trusted sites https://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showannouncement=15&f=4
  4. There was an update which fixes. this make sure you have v5.31.6105 (that the last four digits are represented in the ccleaner top bar) Thunderbird is listed in the applications tab.
  5. From where are you downloading CC, AFAIK no such change in icon happened, I worry that you're using a non-official downloading site
  6. Make sure firefox isn't running when you clean; sometimes firefox doesn't completely exit, so check your task manager for firefox.exe or plugin container.
  7. While debugging an issue on my nexus I discovered that root is not discovered or asked for if using the systemless root which has become the fashion of late. Until the debug I had a system-installed root. I don't know how root is discovered in CCleaner but systemless places root at /su/
  8. I believe, the check for updates will pop-up if one is detected, but I'm on pro now so may be wrong.
  9. Ccleaner is released monthly and obviously if 5.31 is out than 5.30 is old. There were two 5.31 because a fatal (to mozilla) error. But, unless a quick patch is made you will be asked to upgrade on a once a month basis. I don't think there is the situation you both setup
  10. Nergal

    Passwords

IMHO It's probably cookies (have you setup your "cookies to keep"in ccleaner's options?) Or "sessions"
  11. 1 year (priority support, auto update) 1 install (so one PC). Other features (multiuser cleaning, advanced monitoring) will remain after the year has passed.
  12. Update your ccleaner, a patch was created which fixes the issue
  13. Technician version? I've never seen that command in ccleaner's cmdline repertoire. https://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/advanced-usage/command-line-parameters Never mind my link shows what you mean. You should probably ask your priority support rep https://piriform.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new This is a user forum and most of us don't and haven't used those switches
  14. Are you sure the files you are seeing are not just empty files. Windows will recreate the log's file in an empty state
  15. Ccleaner doesn't have a reboot feature at all. Maybe explain your problem a little more. Do you have ccleaner set to run at 2AM?
  16. Sorry the duplicate finder in ccleaner is not that robust. It only find same file, not similar.
  17. Unzip/extract the files to the location of your preference, (optionally) delete the lang files you don't need (If your system is english you can delete the entire lang folder
  18. This patch can't repair the damage done, only make sure it doesn't occur again.
  19. Be sure you've tried the patched version which should make sure this doesn't happen again (will not magically recreate your profiles though sorry)
  20. you are using winapp2.ini or another ccleaner enhancement. all those extra entries (all with an * after their name come from that. If there are other issues, you'll need to remove the enhancing products
  21. As this is an official forum for recuva, members are asked not to mention competition software.
  22. One cannot fully uninstall IE as it is part of how windows displays some applications. Many applications and Windows itself will leave traces using IE, this is what you are seeing
  23. @uuu the problem isn't that ccleaner's registry is dangerous, now as opposed to past, it's that you're using it wrong. Please take time to read my signature, in it is golden advice for registry cleaning, in ccleaner or any other reg cleaner. This advice has kept me bug free windows xp and all windows through windows 10
  24. As I stated in the sticky, my experience is that after creator update I had to change back from windows 7 task to windows 10
