Speccy servers have been unavailable for some time. They were migrating but unknown status. See here. Piriform does seem disinterested in speccy of late but I don't think it's being phased out.

What "it" has stopped on QB? Ccleaner? The backup? What other programs are giving you that message? Please directly answer these and the questions in my previous reply. Their importance will guide us in troubleshooting your issue. It sounds like you ran the registry tool but until I/anyoneelse know, if you did, it makes it impossible to help you.

How has ccleaner stopped you from backing up? What windows version? What happens when you try to backup? Have you run the registry tool in ccleaner or just regular clean (easy or custom clean tools). Are you using any ccleaner enhancing software or custom rules (winapp2.ini)?

Not yet, though they don't really support projects that are in beta (alpha?) testing. Very likely that once released, ccleaner will clean up after it.

Choose custom clean instead of easy clean and you'll be able to see the details.

I'm sorry I don't quite understand a few things here. What is MKA? Why are you defragging a PlayStation 2 drive, can windows even recognize the format of the drive? Why do you have 12635123 games, there weren't anywhere that many PS2 games? As I understand it, defragmenting large files such as those that make up games is difficult for a pc to do it because it needs a large of a free space in which to put it.

The IP the VPN is giving you is tied to a country piriform can't do business in (due to sanctions, laws)

Do you mean be a moderator, or actual Piriform/ccleaner job? If the former then being an very active and helpful member for a number of years. When we need someone because one of us has left or because the workload requires a new moderator, then these are the qualities we look for in a new associate. If the latter then you apply like any job. You'll be working for Avast though and i've no idea how or who to go through for that.

Let's start with some information that will help troubleshoot. What version of windows? What version number of defraggler, and from where did you download it? When you ran defraggler I assume you used it to defrag the c drive, did it finish the job? or did it error out? Can you still defrag the drive in defraggler?

I see a lot of windows version fragmentation, and it's a flaw of Microsoft's own making.

No matter what I do (short of making a install disc and forcing it) I can't get above 1803 oh well I hardly use a pc any more

Interesting, but software updater checks filehippo for updates and I don't believe that they have drivers.

As your radio host says the only way to be 100% is physical destruction, if your adversaries have unlimited time and money they can recover data and you'll need to physically destroy it. That said mounting the drives into a newer machine then running full disk wipe on it will thwart most data thieves. Sadly no 98 compatible ccleaner will wipe, and while you can run ccleaner on the xp machine (assuming it's service pack 3) it won't do what you want which is full wipe; for obvious reasons you can't full wipe a drive running the windows ccleaner is hosted in.

Try clearing ie from within the browser, sometimes that helps
