The last rule it got stuck on was internet explorer history so you could try to uncheck all of internet explorer (as one of our moderators has done to speed up their cleaning) and/or make sure no programs are running (maybe one of them runs internet explorer in their code (such as msOffice products or Quicken). I notice you use Firefox (from your logs) do you use edge/explorer at all? well I reread the entire log (boy I must be bored lol) and you use all four browsers pretty heavily.

But this time with the debugging, did you task manager it as asked. I think you just have a lot to clean, but as I said I pointed someone smarter than me, on the inner workings of ccleaner, in this direction
-
Did you stop it, or kill it in task manager? It reports in a way that seems like you pressed cancel. That's just my layman read on it i'll see if I can flag down a admin to see if they see something I don't. What I see is a lot of junk (stuff ccleaner gets rid of) is this your first clean with anything. It looks to me like it's happily running through the cleanse. The "trial is expired" I see in some of it does concern me because i've never seen that in a debug.

I've pointed piriform staff to this thread.

[OPINION]While this sounds like a good idea, I don't think it would be possible, as the cookies themselves don't contain this information and there are over a billion websites most of which use at least one cookie so piriform couldn't keep a database like which you've suggested.[/OPINION] That said, the developers often add viable suggestions so if it's possible you might see it added.

Please run ccleaner in debug mode And run a cleaning showing the bug (run it until it gets to the 15% and freezes, force close ccleaner) and present to log as an attachment to this thread.

Have you changed the number of overwrites ccleaner should use in its cleaning?

Unofficial is unofficial and could contain flaws or malware. i've removed your link to the unofficial site and i'm compelled to ask you to only use official from now on.

I've bussed this to the attention of ccleaner staff, they should be able to answer this -
Default location is your documents folder

v. 5.56.7144 doesn't clean IE files. Why?
Nergal replied to sfoalan's topic in CCleaner Bug Reporting
Something is open which uses edge to render, try exiting all other applications and windows apps a try to clean again. Make sure edge isn't set to run in background Settings > Privacy > Background apps > Scroll down to MS Edge and set to off. -
Did you backup the registry entries before removal. If so, you can try to restore it (may not work depending on the entries removed). I'm assuming you ran it blindly, the best advice for future registry cleaning is in my signature below this post.

Did you only clean or did you use the registry section?

Messed up on mobile firefox too, only certain add-ons though. Says they're unsigned and disables them.

I'm not sure I entirely understand the question. Are you asking is it better to do a search filter before you scan? If so, no it's better to run the scan then fill in the search/filter box

Sadly there is no current fix for this and as it's a long-lived bug with a variety of manufacturers may not be fixable in the short-term.
-
I've asked those above for attention as that was my main/only idea

See my answer here And maybe come back and tell us if it helped.

Depends on how much there is to clean, but no 23 seconds is not an extreme length.

I've moved this thread to the ccleaner for mac, so you don't get a bunch of windows answers. Sadly we have few Mac users in the forum, however the first thing i'd check is that you've fully exited chrome and that chrome sync and cloud print are turned off if they are options on Mac (which i'm pretty sure they are).

Portable.dat (the thing that makes/forces it to be portable) does indeed make context menu options such as recycle bin unavailable.

What do you mean failed. Do you get error message? Does the installer quit unexpectedly? Is your xp computer fully patched with the SSE2 patch described above?
