Have you tried system restore jgreer?
-
I would think it's a safety thing most of all webmal. Sometimes program undates etc are put in temp files and can be applied on reboot. If you had used CCleaner inbetween, they would be gone! Welcome to the forum

Having had a look around it does seem to be a very stressfull problem for a lot of people. Have you read this long thread here? ( read it all) http://www.dylangreene.com/blog.asp?blogID=371 Several solutions are posted, a couple of which seem to work for most people. A long read but I hope one of the answers works, one of the solutions posted has worked for so many now the poster has cult status (post 69)

Mike, by using the scan button first, all files found are listed, then you just type in jpg, png or mp3 into the filter and only those type of files will then be shown.

Very easy to use, looks like a winner. Thanks Mr G

Seems a bit of confusion around, but in several posts I have read, and the one below, you can only disable Defender in Vista not uninstall it as it will be part of the operating system. http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare...;PostID=1108112

Just a quick point, it isn't compatable with vista.

You could always try a request for help here http://forum.moddb.com/moddb/

If you mean there is a big white space in add and remove here is some info on fixes. http://help.wugnet.com/windows/Add-remove-...pict545435.html

I agree JD, I would think it's highly unlikely it contains spyware. Perhaps Daan is looking at the link for >report if spyware found in this download link> to the right on this page and reading something into it. (probably for installer alerts, we at CCleaner know about those only too well!) http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Cybe...load-33522.html

Hello Alberto It may be difficult, but you can try this, it is free. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html Use your computer no more if you can, until you use this software. Good luck!!

Found this page here, does it describe what's happening to you at all, and the game you are trying to play? http://www.d-silence.com/feature.php?id=244 By the way inspector, welcome to the forum

Dennis, I am in full agreement with your post about using shrink and decrypter, they have served me well for quite some time. I learnt about using these a couple of years ago from scuba pete on afterdawn forums. However he has a place here now, definitely worth a read. ( ignore his wacky style of writing, he knows his stuff in my opinion) http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/petesguide3.html

Now that's a really good find Andavari

What other "junk" files are you thinking of? I ask because, as I am sure you know, it's not really a good idea to delete all sorts of things, it can lead to problems. Do you have something nasty on your computer that you cannot delete?

Hello gitto and welcome You don't need to add the .temp or log files it is done automatically by ccleaner when you clean, see here for more info. http://www.internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/

1.What does the window message say? 2. Does it happen when you press the "analyse" button to clean? 3. Does it happen when you press the "scan for issues" button? 4.. Have you scanned your computer for viruses lately?
-
I do not have skype so am a bit in the dark here. Do you have the latest version 3.0.0.198? Is it something that started after a version upgrade of ccleaner or skype? I am just wondering where the preferences files are stored as ccleaner is more of a temp file cleaner as you know.

Hello myth and welcome to the forum Is this problem just when you do an issues scan, or does it happen when you analyse as well? (See here for the difference) http://www.internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/ What does the error message in the window say? Have you any other problems with your computer? Are you using XP? Which browser do you use, Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox,or Opera?

I take it it's a no for that software then?
