  1. Already tried that Mike, in fact I think I must have tried everything!
  2. I have to log in each time now since the changeover. I have tried clearing cookies etc but as yet, no luck
  3. Have you had any other problems with your computer lately? Are all your virus/malware scans up to date? What is your operating system, XP? What happens if you run with 1.36 version again, is it just 1.37 that goes wrong?
  4. Have you tried a reinstall, and does it work in safe mode?
  5. Just had a read about it on several google pages, sounds good and I have read no adverse effects from the install/uninstall. Go for it and let us know what your findings are
  6. Not having vista myself I did a little bit of reading and believe that the change in user rights is a feature of vista. Apparently some things such as the deletion of files require admin rights, so the way you ar running now in vista under user account control means you will need to be admin for this. This is vista's way of trying to prevent security breeches due to malware taking over admin rights. When you right click on the program folder or shortcut are you offered the option to run as admin?
  7. I think if people choose to post legitimately in a different forum under another name, I would respect the fact that they may not want this to be made public on this or any other forum Just my opinion
  8. Just in case you misunderstood slowday, I meant the forum wasn't user friendly The program itself looked okay.
  9. Went to have a look at the forums (look on leftside list) reached via the home tab at the top of the above page. Firewall come up with active x warning, so I blocked the x and then a rather naughty little thing came up saying my box was now owned by Paradox. Not very user friendly!! EDIT. Seen the same as you fireryone!!
  10. Great site Humpty. I have always had a soft spot for Hendrix. Once watched him on a live television show singing live with Dusty Springfield of all people. It was one of the most amazing sessions I have ever heard
  11. Thought I would give Avira AntiVir a go today as it is one I have never used. I was running avast up to press. So far, I have found no problems, seems to fit in easy ( at the moment) with my system. When I installed and it does that setup scan thing it found 2 suspicious objects. Oh no! I thought. Looked at them and they are both in c\windows\system32\Panda software\nanoscan They are, I'm 99% sure, false positives for the nano scan we discussed here http://forum.CCleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=8932 Didn't realise it left it's calling card hidden in system32.
  12. Another very comprehensive vista compatability list is here. http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Wind..._List#AntiVirus
  13. Hello logokiller Which screens do you mean as I cannot see any on mine. Do you mean when you are on the internet, on your desktop, or where? A screenshot may be easier.
  14. Regardless of people's age, it is impossible to have seen everything there is to see. How sad it must be to be really old and not have anything new to look at - thank goodness that won't happen
  15. The file here at the bottom of this page is the slim build which a lot of us use, including me. http://www.CCleaner.com/download/builds.aspx Just download it in the normal way by saving it to your desktop, and installing from there. It is just a normal file. By the way the one with the toolbar, during install you DO get the option NOT to install the yahoo toolbar. Welcom to the forum Zoom32
  16. Stearic acid is a type of fatty acid that comes from animal fats, it is one of the ingredients of candles. Here is some heavy info on some chemical tests - Lactose monohydrate was melt agglomerated in an 8-l high shear mixer using stearic acid, polyethylene glycol (PEG) 3000, and a mixture of stearic acid and glycerol monostearate as meltable binders. Electrostatic charging during processing at relative air humidities of 35 and 75%, respectively, was estimated from the voltage of a monitoring probe inserted into the mixer. Stearic acid produced a high level of electrostatic charges, whereas PEG 3000 gave rise to a markedly lower level. Addition of glycerol monostearate to the stearic acid reduced the level of electrostatic charges. A correlation was found between the resistivity of the binder and the level of electrostatic charges in the material. With the stearic acid and the binder mixture, the level of electrostatic charges was higher at a low air humidity. The amount of adhesion to the bowl was found to depend on the level of electrostatic charges. taken from http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=A...f6d1c0726504de9 On a lighter note - In colonial America the early settlers discovered that they were able to obtain a very appeasing wax by boiling the berries from the bay-berry shrub. This wax created a very sweet smelling and good burning candle; however the process of making the bayberry wax was very tedious and tiresome.

  18. Hello skip and welcome to the forum Can you give a little bit more information please. Are you using xp? IE 7, Firefox? Were you doing cleaning in CCleaner or "issues" Are you saying some items have gone from your start up list?
  19. I uninstalled rklauncher and when I went into Picasa for something it was empty- no pictures at all, just an empty program. One of the rklauncher icons was a link to it. I am sure it was not a coincidence as I uninstalled and went in Picasa (which I use a lot) more or less straight away. All my pictures were still in my documents, and backed up on external drive, so I uninstalled Picasa and reinstalled. All is as it should be now. Has anyone else had any similar problem?
  20. I absolutely haven't a clue. here is all I could find without knowing more info about things like this. I'm sure someone will be able to help more productively. http://drupal.org/node/53479
