  1. Make sure your backups have .reg after them. Your .reg file association may be broken, if so the fix can be obtained from here http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm Look for the reg file association fix.
  2. click and drag on the item (say the fan fan for example in "blown away" botom left of the screen, it's a tool to use to help move the ball If you do the 'powering up' one, click and drag the battery up to behind the fan and then press test.

  11. I can see no reason why doing what you did would result in the problem you have. When you say you had a system overload, what did you mean? Have you tried system restore? You may still be able to view your emails using this http://www.snapfiles.com/get/dbxviewer.html

  15. 1984 check there isn't a very tiny switch on the side of the thumb drive this, if it's in a certain position, can do that. It can also be caused by removing the thumb drive without using the 'safely remove hardware' icon on the taskbar. In other words things can still be being transfered when you remove it
