  1. The best part of living here, the fruit. Plentiful, ripe and very inexpensive. We just bought a juicer and it is amazing.I have never felt better.
  2. Lu LU. I would assume that many forum members agree as well. Once in awhile you have to take chances. Sure, I am far from my family, but one day you have to decided on who you are going to live your life for? You or someone else? It was a tough decision, but not that tough.
  3. I spent my college days in Tucson at University of Arizona. Then a few years in Scottsdale before the move to Costa Rica. The dry heat is great. During the summer, it is either a/c or a pool. You can't lose. Richard
  4. If you can make it here, it will be worth it. I still cannot believe that the average Gringo spends 3 times the amount of money necessary to enjoy yourself. They go to the tourist spots, do not really enjoy the true beauty of the country and pay prices that can be more expensive than Miami in some places. I would rather have my own cabana on the beach, a chill hammock, cold drink and a private view of the ocean. Places like that exist, you just have to know where to look or who to ask. Richard
  5. Lu Lu and Andavari. There are always direct flights. The most expensive part is the travel to get here.Once in Costa Rica, you can live like a rock star. Imagine 50 cent beers and $5 a pound lobsters. Some people may say that it could get old, I don't think so. Richard
  6. YoKenny I am impressed. Sounds like a fun adventure. That is what life's memories are made of. Living life to the fullest! Richard
  7. CTskifreak I graduated back in 1991.But I can still remember listening to KYW 1060 in Philadelphia. My school's snow number was 301. The waiting while they counted the numbers was nail biting, but when you heard that your school was closed for the day,it was like hitting the lottery! Just try to stay safe on the icy roads. My girlfriend is a TICA and last year she saw snow for the first time when we were in Northern Arizona., She forced me to pull over on the highway so she could run around in a field and try to catch snow flakes. Hit those slopes and keep me posted. Richard
  8. Humpty. When you are ready, let me know. I may have some good suggestions for you. Richard
  9. LuLu. Thanks for the interest. I have surfed the best waves here. Mostly in Playa Hermosa (next to Jaco) and up in Tamarindo. Hang in there Andavari. Nice to meet you. CTskifreak. Let's switch for a week. I would love to hit the slopes and I am sure that you would like to chill out on a beach. Deal???
  10. DennisD Nice to meet you. Nothing like being the "new" guy! Especially from Costa Rica. JDPower Thanks for the reply. Now is the perfect time to sit in front of a roaring fire with a nice tall glass of hot chocolate.
  11. I wanted to introduce myself to this community and look forward to sharing ideas with other forum members. Anything that can help me communicate better with my IT department. Best regards, Richard
