Welcome eyeks
StartupList has a comprehensive list of locations for starting things:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/startuplist.html
Another application could be starting it because it needs it.
The service is active on my XP Pro system.
I guess running Secunia Online Software Inspector without the service active to see what effect it has on Java runtime:

That's strange.
I'm automatically logged in every time unless I delete the Piriform cookie.
I'm able to automatically log in every time to all forums I watch as long as I don't clear their cookies.
What version of HostsMan are you running?
I seem to remember that failure with an old version.
The current version I am running is HostsMan 3.2.69 Beta5:

Messing with Outlook Express dbx message stores is dangerous as all messages are stored in one long file with pointers in other dbx files.
I don't know about the others.
My condolences for you and your family
She will live in your memories and visit you in your dreams and will be with you whenever you smell something she baked for you.
I'm watching Bernanke: Quick Rebound Not in the Cards in one tab and Stocks Today: Banking Chaos Not So Bad? paused in another tab without a problem on my XP Home SP3 system using IE7 with IE7Pro.

Or my clickable image in my signature where I copy the image to my hard drive then use MWSnap to capture the image then use the same process to update my signature.
That's only to un-install the previous version if installed.
As long as you don't have the resident portion installed like I did and it gobbled up 40MB.
I have Secunia Online Software Inspector email me when they have an update.
Make sure that you remove all traces of McAfee as it will prevent most other anti virus applications from installing.
I use Avast! and AntiVir and they are both good.
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World was on my cable TV Free Classic Movie promotion last weekend:

Just about all of the stars in that movie have passed on and Jimmy Durante shares the same Birthday as me.
Congratulations for Bill

I received an award back in April 2007 and I was thrilled.
I do have a WinPatrol golf shirt that I like:

I had the same problem until I implemented the advice in:
http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=114838
I run IE8 beta2 on my real old PIII and it runs fine with XP Pro SP3.
What is your operating system and what other applications do you have running?
Download Adobe Flash Player un-installer then close all browser windows then run the un-install utility:http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewConten...rnalId=tn_14157
Run Secunia Online Software Inspector to see that you have no vulnerable applications:
