I was wondering if the following were cleaned by ccleaner: 1.) Temp Files and etc. for Google Chrome Frame (Plugin for Internet Explorer) 2.) Tracks of QuickTime 7 Clear list of recently accessed items 3.) Tracks of Windows XP Clear CryptnetUrl cache 4.) Tracks of Windows XP Clear RSS Feeds cache 5.) Clear the ARP Cache I have attached 3 notepad docs for your review... I would like to see the Tabs changed for much better organization: 1.) Windows (Windows Explorer, System, Windows Programs, Windows Utilities) 2.) Applications (all 3rd party Applications and Utilities, broken down by type) 3.) Browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc) and well as Internet and Multimedia 4.) Security (all security related programs, broken down by type) 5.) Advanced (No changes here - execpt to capitalize the letter "D" in: "Old Prefetch data" "The Startup List" should have it's own button on the left hand side under the "Registry" button and above the "Tools" button. This feature is too important to be buried in the "Tools" section. "Task Manager" and/or "Services" button - either made to launch the original programs or you can design something that incorporates features from both apps into one master "Manager Program". Hi nycquery, With a computer that old, I would suggest burning to CD anything that you would want to keep (pics, photos, docs, images, music, etc.) and then reformat the entire system to factory OEM specs - like how you got the day you bought it - by using the Restore or Recovery CD - there may be 3-4 of them. I know it's a pain in the %@!&$, but sometimes "starting over" may be the smartest and easiest way. It's a Sony, their Website should be a good starting point. Somewhere on your system, (Program Files?) you should be able to find the "Vaio Recovery Wizard", which might help too. So much has happened to XP since 2002, I'd spend the time and update: Windows Update to SP3+, Internet Explorer 7, Windows Media Player 11, Outlook Express 6, then upgrade your Ram to at least 512MB or 1.0 GB (quality and quantity, if you can or need), update all Drivers from Sony's Website, update the system's Java, Flash, DirectX, .Net, Adobe Reader, Quicktime, find and install the latest versions of the more popular security programs (Comodo Internet Security, AVG 8.0, Spybot S&D, SafeXP - www.majorgeeks.com) a few performance, security, and privacy tweaks, and of course, CCleaner v2.13.720! Take a weekend, rock it out by Sunday night. Just my 2 cents, poolsharkzz

Okay, so those entries are for Vista only. The paths are different in XP. Shouldn't there be additional registry entries added for Vista? http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/serious-...n-registration/ If 6.0 is Vista, then the version # of Windows Error Reporting for XP is 5.1? I found QHEADLES and QSIGNOFF Folders in the ERRORREP Folder, which was in the PChealth Folder located in the Windows Folder off the C Drive and of course, the Registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting I have it disabled as well on my system, so no reports, right? I don't understand what QHEADLES and QSIGNOFF means, or even if they fit into the big picture and there was nothing in those folders. Sorry for being a pain, poolsharkzz ***** Here's one of the more amazing (and stupid) registry entries in XP: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\AppCompatibility Look at the AppCompatCache Value. It's more than 150K of garbage! And what's more, it is loaded into kernel memory and I have yet to find where it is used! XP will not boot if the AppCompatCache value is not there. So here's what you do. Delete the value, then re-create it with a one-byte binary entry of 0. XP will now boot fine and everything will be as before...except you have removed 50K from the registry and from kernel memory! If you make the same change in all the ControlSet00x branches, you can remove 450K+ from both the registry and system memory.

Oh, okay, I see it now... I guess I have no windows errors to report!?!?! It doesn't show up on mine - what do I have set wrong? I am using a customized winsys.ini file - that's probably it - do you have a copy of embedded INIs entries for v2.13.720 ? What are the "Windows Error Reporting Files" anyway? Dr Watson? Yuck! Hello to all, Maybe I am looking in the wrong place, but I do not see "Windows Error Reporting Files" listed as an option to clean as described as a v2.13.720 additional improvement. What am I missing? Love the right-click cleaning and analysis - uber-cool! I still think you folks should have a 3 Tab named "Security" located at the top next to the "Windows" Tab and the "Applications" Tab to where all the security related programs can be listed. As more and more applications and programs can and will be added to CCleaner, keeping things neat, tidy, and organized will be a big step (and a big help) towards complete perfection! poolsharkzz

Exactly, as I already pointed out under #2 of my orginial post: 1.) In XP SP3, the registry entry is under HKLM - not - HKCU. 2.) The entry is missing a "\" inbetween: MostRecentApplication"\"Name 3.) This entry does not show up on the Analysis Complete section, even after correction. 4.) This entry should be included in the "Registry Integrity" section, not the Programs section. 5.) I would consider renaming the entry to: Direct Draw API I wasn't sure what exactly the backslash is called in a registry entry. A post? poolsharkzz

Okay, cool, so I guess we need a XP version and a Vista version for Winapp2.ini. I also do not understand the benefit or need to remove/clean the key either, other than for safely deleting usage tracks and user history of recently accessed direct draw applications. Could someone explain as to why? Privacy violations? Security enhancement? poolsharkzz

Hello to all, I use Spybot Search and Destroy 1.6.0.30, and of course at the end of the scan I get a list of usage tracks and registry entries that Spybot said is safe to remove. I have always wondered why some "safe to remove" things "show up" on other programs but not on CCleaner. Adobe Reader put out an updated version yesterday, need updated entries to add to Winapp2.ini. FYI - You folks should create a "pinned" topic when it comes to anything to do with embedded Winapp.ini, Winsys.ini, Winreg.ini - including links to get updated version copies. This would be very helpful. Right now, we have to search far and wide through-out the forums to find these things. Why do you not just include them in the full installer version? Thanks!
