Moderators hazelnut Posted May 12, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 12, 2011 Guess a lot of folk won't like this (judging by posts under the article) ?Presidential and local emergency messages as well as Amber Alerts would appear on cell phones equipped with special chips and software,? under the new program which was launched today in New York and is set to be rolled out across all major cities by the end of next year, reports CBS New York. Cellphone users would not be able to opt out of ?presidential messages,? with Verizon and AT&T, the nation?s largest cell phone carriers, already on board. http://www.prisonplanet.com/what-else-will-the-governments-special-chip-in-your-cellphone-do.html Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
Corona
Yeah. 300 million text messages sent out per alert. But don't worry, the taxpayers will cover the cost. And of course you can't opt out from the manchilds' messages. Important ones like, Vote For Me.

Moderators Nergal Posted May 16, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 16, 2011 The government might decide disabling the chip is illegal. Here in the states, this is not very likely, or at least it'll have to go through the Supreme Court before they could make the disable illegal. However, Presidental messages would only happen in extreme situations (L.A. about to be Nuked etc.) Amber alert texts are already rare and really (though I did opt-into them) they really aren't any sort of bother, plus if you save a child you're awesome for it ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Aethec
Yes, but this seems like a pretense to do other things - just like censoring child pornography is. You can't argue against amber alerts or banning child porn, but what can be used as a useful tool can also be used to do bad things.
