  1. Australian Teachers Try To Shut Down Website {news from slashdot.com} schools should take this as a free way to tell how well they are doing and improve appropriatly. I think any 'colorful content' should be moderated though.
  2. I still prefer the dead cow (get leather and Beef ), but it was fun to make and seems somewhat usable.
  3. The most annoying thing I noticed with UAC was all the "Are You Sure" popups you get... note: My experience is based on BetaRC1 with 2 admin accounts, but I don't think it would differ much more from a limited user accounts' point of view.
  4. That would be using it illegally. "not for commercial use, free for personal use only", you can use it at home though
  5. He has either got guts or is stupid
  6. video and sound quality is nice install plugin go here: http://silverlight.net/fox/
  7. If you mean there are new entries after fixing and scanning again, that is normal for about 3 times, but if you mean the same entries re-appear after fixing them, try this: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=8588
  8. Correct, it will remove the registry entry for the unused filetype and NOT touch any files with the extention. You should not uninstall hofixes or Windows updates using 'tools' as that would remove the windows update (un-update windows!) not remove the downloaded installer. If you wish to clean out the installers click 'CCleaner' go down to 'Advanced' and put a check next to 'Hotfix Uninstallers' please NOTE: You will NOT be able to uninstall those windows updates at a future date.
  9. Just the title of the post gets the song flowing around my head again lol .
  10. If you have a high or unlimited download limit you may not need it, I still have it set because even on a 512/128 it can take a while to re-download a page.
  11. If you just want to remove the uninstall reference from add remove programs, you can use CCleaner: Click 'Tools', 'Uninstall', select the offending entry, click 'Delete Entry' Remember this will "'NOT'" uninstall or remove any leftover files related to the program, it will "'ONLY'" remove it from the add/remove programs list.
  12. You should provide a link.... http://www.ie7pro.com/ This is actually quite a handy add on for IE7, seems to make it more useable from my few minutes experience with it. I still wont make it my default browser but will make using IE a little more bearable.
  13. White-listing seems like a step towards TCPA and the death of freeware... Be-cause you just know they will charge companies to get on the white-list. ::edit:: ...which means sooner or later it will be comprimised...
  14. I'm using .502 and am not having any trouble at all, "Add remove programs" still takes ages to load up the list, but it still works fine. Try running your pc in safe mode, then try "Add remove programs" again.
  15. Works fine here, using firefox 2.0.0.3. I don't use noscript so I can't check that, but its working for Humpty.
  16. Feel the weight of a PSU before purchasing. If it is reasonably weighty/heavy it should be good quality, otherwise if "light as a feather" comes to mind when picking it up, put it back on the shelf We have a 600W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU and it has some weight to it http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/generic...ocname=bph07843 this should be a similar picture to your motherboard, make sure the PSU comes with both the 20pin ATX and the 4pin 12v ATX connections. Count how many devices that will require a separate connector (Hard Drives, maybe the graphics Card, CD/DVD ddrives, Fans, etc) and make sure it comes with enough and maybe a few spare connectors incase you want to add any additional drives later.
  17. Sorrry about that Tom, this topic is going a bit off topic lol Thats good
  18. The 7'th icon across in the second row of icons is insert image. Or I use ImageShack.us and I believe you copy and paste the second link. The actual code for inserting an image is: [img=http://www.somewhere.com/yourimage.jpg]
  19. This has been mentioned before, and unfortunatly you can't have cleaning one without cleaning the other .
  20. Will download, and try it again Keep up the good work fixing the bugs. ::edit:: still stops at 82.8% 1.01.062 Log Recuva v062===========System Info: MS Windows XP SP2, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz, 767MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000[18:53:41] === Recuva operates on Debug Mode==== Old 1.01.057 Log: Recuva v57===========System Info: MS Windows XP SP2, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz, 767MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000DRIVEDESC FSys:1, BytsPSect:512, SectPClust:8, BytsPClust:4096, FRSize:1024, ClustCnt:10486420, MFTClustNo:0, MFTMirClustNo:786432[12:38:11] ErrorNo: 21 OtherInfo:cundelete_recdrv1 Error No:21 ErrorInfo:Failed to scan drive.[12:38:17] ErrorNo: 21 OtherInfo:cundelete_recdrv1 Error No:21 ErrorInfo:Failed to scan drive.
  21. Imagine preforming a backup / restore or a defrag on this thing
  22. It actually quite nice Go into settings and change to "standard wallpaper" and use the 7th Ray wallpaper from here: Adni18 7th Ray It actually makes the earth look 3D in the center of your cube (needs transparency turned on) Try it with other wallpapers you like. ::EDIT:: Also use the mouse to turn and scroll (if you have one) out, way out. looks good on a large wallpaper in widescreen!
  23. Just like some of these "Windows Vista Only" PC games (Halo2 for example, and another one I saw on EB Games shelf today)... >
