  1. /cringes at thought of a a pc without flash support.
  2. I only figured the "google it" thing this topic after clickling your link, (then remembering someone else couldn't scroll to the bottom of one I posted in another topic, but if I clicked it I could still scroll and see the answers.) So I figured EE are monitoring what page you come from and modifying the page as such.
  3. Don't hand over any money to them (unless you really want to post there) as you can view the answers for free, as I said do a Google search for the page then scroll to the bottom of the page and there are the answers without signing up.
  4. This is another handy Tech/security site & newsletter. http://www.securecomputing.net.au/
  5. 1. Don't worry about the metadata 2. CCleaner only wipes over the free space once which is not a big issue for everday users. and can be seen as a feature request. Overall that means, Hakuna Matata
  6. There are some good explanations of the reason for the difference in "Size" and "Size on disc" here and in detail here.
  7. If you have issue viewing the answers (as i did) just Google the tile of the page "Mscomm 8012 Run-Time Error" and click the first link (same page but now you can scroll down and the answers are visible)
  8. If you use Firefox's option to "clear private data/clear recent history", is the field blank on a browser reload? have you any toolbars installed, maybe a toolbar/addon is remembering it...
  9. +1 to pinned idea, good list. gadget news: www.techeblog.com -similar to engadget odd news: www.japanprobe.com
  10. CC isn't an active cleaner, it only cleans if you run the cleaner or you have set it to clean on startup, so you shouldn't have to disable it or uninstall it.

    BumpTop

http://bumptop.com/ Click the main image to watch the preview video. I haven't tried it but it looked like it was worth sharing.
  12. In most cases you wont have to uninstall ccleaner before installing the latest version. If you have issues then a clean install (ie. uninstall first) may help. And no, the current version on ccleaner is not a beta.
  13. in IE6 its click "File" click "Work Offline" in IE7 & IE8 its "Tools" then "Work Offline" in Firefox "File" then "Work Offline" make sure there is no tick next to them.
  14. One other thing to verify, have you actually made a Google account and signed in so that google will save the setup? As you can customize the page without actually logging in.
  15. This has been requested and debated many times, so far it is yet to be implemented and no official word from the dev's: Example is a post a few below yours: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=24363 Just so you know, I agree with the suggestion
  16. I got Today's update just fine via auto update. With a free service i think we should all be more forgiving of down time (Not that I've noticed it).
  17. Then use the EULA Alyzer on it http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/eulalyzer.html (free for personal use)
  18. Have you checked you graphics cards control panel settings for the set aspect ratio/scaling: something like: ATI: http://i25.tinypic.com/zyf1x4.jpg Nvidia: http://img.ihere.org/uploads/f31d22fc0b.png links above from: http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/forum/sho....php?pid=686470
  19. That will likely be because Firefox has saved the password, which I don't believe CC wipes out. Tools / Options / Security / "Remember Passwords for sites" Instead of removing the tick and loosing all saved passwords, you could select "Use a master password" and password protect your passwords
  20. Yes I knew you didn't start this thread, I followed it here after it was moved.
  21. Yes, reporting it is the right thing to do, but just because your post was lost in the tide of other bug reports, and you've assumed its been ignored/removed. Instead of hijacking someone else's post and saying that ccleaner is dangerous, you should just bump your bug reporting topic now and then and wait for a competent reply. In your bug report did you include the registry entries CC wanted to remove and the program they are associated with, and while your waiting you should add the entries to your exclude list. so you may want to include that info here and a link to your previous bug report, as you see you have gathered a bit of attention .
  22. If you don't have access to another pc to try with, maybe one of us could try the subscription for you. I'd be happy to, just PM your email address to me (or if you prefer, ask if one of the mods above could do it for you), don't post it in plain text on the forum. Then all you should have to do is click the validation link in the email. Unless the site has something against your sons address, it should be fine.
  23. hey sschultz, a few questions: did this happen only after installing ccleaner? did it happen after running the cleaner function? (if so did you select any extras or use the default settings) or did you also run the registry clean? (if you did, did you save a backup, try restoring it) did you install or run any other apps or cleaners before noticing the cd drive issue.
  24. yea that's about right ident, once you actually do a search it looses the customization.
  25. Yea, it is nice but I already posted it here on Aug 22 2009: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=23726&hl=
