  1. First off, have you tried piriforms freeware program "recuva" http://www.recuva.com/
  2. http://www.searchslate.com/ If you are a bit bored of the normal home page and don't really like iGoogle (www.google.com/ig). You may like this, I'm sticking with iG but this is nice, pity the background doesn't stay after a search.
  3. For those of us who like portable apps and for those who like pre-alpha content here is FF3.7a1pre http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/fire.../test#minefield One issue Ive noticed in both the 3.6 a1 and 3.7 a1pre is that if I make a new topic on this forum or a full reply (instead of quick) I can not place the cursor anywhere I want. EG: If a realize I need a space somewhere or misspelled something I can't use the mouse or the arrow keys to place the cursor back, all I can do is backspace and retype it all. there is no flashing cursor. I went back to 3.5.2 to post this (not that, that guarantees a perfectly spelled post, lol)
  4. yea he is amazing, hope he is legit and not some new drug....
  5. Keithuk, that sounds like a browser redirect / virus... <Because I Have To> Use firefox, you n00b </>
  6. That's what will get people, the interface looks "real/nice".
  7. The CMOS battery is not likely to cause the issue (but its cheap if you want to give it a go), as this only holds BIOS settings/config. If the battery is flat it defaults the BIOS, the machine should work ok on default settings, it shouldn't cause random/high use shutdowns. Seeing its not likely a power supply fault either try some of these : 1. Check the event log : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427 for any errors around the time it crashes and google them and post the results. 2. Enable the BSOD screen if its disabled. next time it crashed it might give a BSOD error you can search: (right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop, select Properties, and click on Advanced System Settings. In the System Properties window that appears, select the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery, and uncheck the box that says 'Automatically Restart.' The same steps also apply to XP.) 3. Try running in safe mode: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm 4. Does your motherboard have on-board video, if yes unplug your video card and set the BIOS to the on-board video. 5. Also when you said you got another hard drive, did you unplug you original and install windows to the new drive.
  8. The results are even better: http://www.blacksunsoftware.com/mouse.php?st=10 Pos | Name | Date | Miles 1 | gernot | 16/09/2008 | 10,521,875.00 2 | dLhNetworks | 03/06/2008 | 491,035.35 3 | NDSFiles.com | 03/06/2008 | 334,389.20 4 | bd266as | 02/01/2007 | 127,707.70 5 | AYE | 01/08/2009 | 2,010.02
  9. Frank that really didn't make sense. Both your posts agree with having an antivirus installed lol. or are you just surprised he never been infected while having an av installed
  10. lol0lol0lol best post in this topic
  11. Did swapping the power-supply fix the issue.
  12. try re-reading my last post, it will tell you where.
  13. I had this once and it was just a badly seated heatsink, and the pc was shutting down to protect itself. So remove and re-seat everything b4 blaming the powersupply.
  14. Yea some are too paranoid but most most have no idea and expect to be fine with nothing or cludgy norton since it came pre-installed. Personally I just have antivir and builtin firewall in XP/Win7 anything else active seems a waste of ram.
  15. http://aviary.com/home looks interesting for a free app "in the cloud"
  16. yea it is a stereotype, i decided to play along with the idea. lol
  17. I've seen the first two live (a mini version of the laser one used as a phone keyboard) and the Optimus on the net before, but not the rest and they look awefull... Maltron = cringe
  18. Subject:[MyCareer.com.au] William Thomas, we have a great job offer for you! Content: Looks somewhat valid until I open the attachment (which was clean from virii as far as i could tell) It doesn't even have the usual bad spelling of a scam, lol, they finally learnt how to use spell check. Seeing it looked a little dodgey, off to Google I went and find out: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1145546 a few posts down, the exact same email. Seems it did a round 5 months ago... they must be trying again Weird thing was I haven't used any job sites in over two years.
  19. 1. make sure you have installed the latest CC 2. run a clean or analyze 3. you will see the results are displayed differently. insted of all the results like a text file, they are displayed in a file-tree format.
  20. Yep, working for me in FF 3.6 Alpha 1 and in IE 8.

    Freeware!

I've just started using fences and am not noticing any performance difference either. Only very slight annoyances (ignore-able IMO): 1. sometimes if i rename a shortcut in a fence it will disappear, and I can only get it back by refreshing (hit F5) 2. If i make a box too big I haven't found an option "center" the icons, they stick to the left. (I just have to re-size the box to make it look right)
  22. Anyone noticed the code box on the winapp2.ini post no longer scrolls.... Back on downloads topic: Does anyone remember if it happened before that random guy posted about how we should update the forum to the latest release... Just a highly suspect theory, but maybe there is a vulnerability he or someone else used...
  23. Yea you have to be careful with the drives WU suggests, I've done that to a PC I was fixing up once ...oops no internet. Though I haven't noticed the same sort of driver issues with WU for Win 7 RC.
  24. Basically 1. Doesn't modify the registry, so no mess on removal. 2. Only need it once on a usb stick and you can use it anywhere. 3. In your case you could have a fresh copy of Firefox without uninstalling first.
