  1. Good to hear that your files came back. I've never noticed behaviour like that during a defrag - there again I've never looked. (I usually just set it running on a file defrag and don't do anything else until it's finished). However after a quick test here I'm pretty sure that what you saw was NOT Defraggler. To start with, running on install, many apps have an option to do this when they have finished installing. It's been a while since I installed Defraggler, so to refresh my memory I've just uninstalled and reinstalled Defraggler on this laptop. It did open the user interface once installed, but it did not run automatically. So unless you actually clicked on the 'Analyze' or 'Defrag' buttons after installing then it was not Defraggler that was running on your external drive. I don't know what it was that you saw, but unless you had clicked one of those buttons then I'd say that it wasn't Defraggler. I would strongly suggest that you make a backup of your files to another drive (the current drive may have a fault). As you say that these are 'crucial' then you should already be regularly (daily/weekly) making at least one, and to be safe more than one, backup of them. Keep one backup well away from the computer itself, in a different building or as online storage in the cloud - if there is a fire or other disaster it could destroy any backup kept on site as well as the originals. PS. Being in the Start Menu folder is normal for any/all applications that you have installed, that folder contains shortcuts to where they actually are installed and is there so that they appear on your Start Menu applications list. Defraggler normally installs in "C:\Program Files\Defraggler"
  2. They work well together, as long as the relevant exceptions are put in place. Malwarebytes4 will run happily side-by-side with most other AVs, giving extra protection. https://www.howtogeek.com/230158/how-to-run-malwarebytes-alongside-another-antivirus/
  3. I'm not sure why you think Defraggler has done something to your external drive - especially as you say that you hadn't run Defraggler? (PS. If you had told it to run on installation then it would by default have defragged C: and not an external drive. You'd have to specifically select an external drive to defrag it). The bigger question from what you have said may be did you run CCleaner? In particular did you use the Driver Updater (or the Registry Cleaner)? There are many reasons why files can go 'missing' from an external drive, usually they are still there but Windows just can't see them for some reason. The fact that Windows can still see the drive as a whole, and some folders on it, is an encouraging sign that the drive is working OK and so the files are probably still there. Sometimes just disconnecting and reconnecting the drive is all you need for Windows to see them again. (Tell windows to Eject it before unplugging from USB). I'd work with support as Andrei suggests, but in the meantime use that drive as little as possible. (Just in case the files have been deleted, you have more chance of recovery the less you use the drive).
  4. @BriGuy832 This is a known bug - it's simply the wrong message being shown. (I'm not sure if it has now been fixed in v5.85 released yesterday?). You need to have a CCleaner Pro licence to be able to actually update drivers. If you only have CCleaner Free then the notification should tell you that you need a CCleaner Pro licence to use the Driver Updater, rather than generating that 91613 error.
  5. I'm assuming this is Windows 10? The Registry Cleaner (any registry cleaner) can really mess up Windows 10 if used when not needed. We recommend that you don't regularly use the Registry Cleaner with Windows 10, only use it if you have a specific problem. Windows 10 changes the registry often which can give false results. For the official Piriform advice on using the Registry Cleaner see this: https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/59952-i-get-a-registry-error-on-ccleaner-on-windows-10-i-have-scanned-5-times/?tab=comments#comment-326804 Here is Microsofts stance on using any Registry Cleaner: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2563254/microsoft-support-policy-for-the-use-of-registry-cleaning-utilities That's the warnings done; now lets see if we can help fix things for you. If you have damaged the regstry, and can't restore it from a backup, there are a few things you can do to repair Windows. Let's go through them in the order I would use. NOTE than all of these options can take some time to do their thing. Firstly, try using the DISM and SFC commands to repair the system image. (Note that many articles, including the one I link below, say to run SFC first. That's just to save time, its always better to run DISM before SFC if you have the time because SFC uses the files that DISM updates, so doing DISM first takes longer but does make sure SFC is using valid and up to date files). Open an elevated command prompt. (That simply means: Open the Start menu and type "command prompt" when it brings up the command prompt options click on 'Run as administrator'). In the black command prompt window type the following command, (it needs to be exact so maybe copy/paste it), and then press Enter. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth It will take some time to run, and when finished should report 'The operation completed sucessfully'. Now type the following and press Enter. sfc /scannow Again that will take some time to scan the system files and repair any errors it finds. It will report if it found nothing wrong, or tell you what it has fixed, it may tell you to reboot if it fixed something. Restart your computer (Restart not Shutdown) and see if things are back to normal. If you are still having problems then if you have system Restore Points enabled you can try restoring your computer to a point saved before you used the Registry Cleaner. Open the start menu and type "rstrui.exe" (without the quote marks), click on 'Run as Administrator'. That opens the System Restore dialogue where you can pick a Restore point and return your computer to how it was when that RP was made. It's fairly simple to use just follow the prompts. If none of the above has worked then we are looking at resetting Windows 10 and/or the Startup and Update repairs. I'll not try to go through those step by step here, you can find them (along with what we have already tried above) in this article at options 4, 5,& 6: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/repair-corrupted-damaged-registry-in-windows-10 PS. I won't try using Gogle translate to put all that in Spanish, there is quite a bit there and errors may be made by Google translate.
  6. That's good. Looking at your settings: You have specified to match for duplicates on all 3 of Name, Size, and Date modified. Duplicate Finder will only say files are duplicates if they match on all 3 of those options you have set. The ignore settings are fine, except you may have not realised what one of them is doing - see below. You are searching D: for *.MP3 files (I assume you have set it to search files and subfolders, but please check that). As to why it is not finding anything on a search: First as said above, because you have specified those 3 'match criteria' then 2 or more files will have to have the same names, the same filesizes, and the same modified dates to be found as duplicates. (If just one of the 3 is different then it won't be considered a duplicate). Next I notice that you have 'Ignore' set to ignore files that are smaller than 1 MB in size. For a .mp3 file a size of 1MB is typically about one minute of playback. But the file that you have attached here is 873KB - so it would be ignored by your search because it's under 1 MB. Is that size typical of the mp3 files that you want to search? If so then they are being ignored because of that setting. Try unticking that particular ignore, or setting it to a lower value if there are some smaller files you still want to ignore. (You can set them as 0.# MB sizes there). I also note that you have specified to search for '.MP3' (in uppercase). But the file you have attached here is '.mp3' in lowercase. (To me 'music.MP3' is not an exact name match for 'music.mp3'. - I'm not sure if the Duplicate Finder makes that distinction in upper/lower cases but wouldn't be surprised).
  7. There may be some thing lost in translation, but I'm not sure how you get that it was licence issue from an incomplete thread that was never answered and doesn't say anything about licences? CCleaner doesn't need a licence to run, if there is no valid licence registered then it runs in Free mode. Anyway, so running CCleaner in Debug mode worked, and now it runs fine. That seems odd as all debug mode does differently is to produce a log of what CCleaner is doing. Maybe opening the logfile somehow gave something a shake? or it may have just been a coincidence?
  8. Yes, I thought you were in Belarus. TBH I'm not sure, but it does seem possible that you may be being affected by country sanctions. I have asked the staff here if they can clarify whether CCleaner is currently being affected by new EU sanctions on Belarus. We are aware that CCleaner can get caught up in such sanctions, it has been before. If so then there is not a lot CCleaner themselves can do about it, it's politics. We'll have to wait for the staff's reply to be sure whether CCleaner is being affected or not. Background: The EU imposed new sanctions on Balarus at the end of June, but such things take time to put in place and may only now be affecting people. https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/press/press-releases/2021/06/24/eu-imposes-sanctions-on-belarusian-economy/ Although not specifically blocking internet access it does prohibit the supply 'directly or indirectly' of certain softwares that could be used by the military or by 'specified persons'. That 'indirectly' can mean that it prohibits supply of those softwares to anyone in the sanctioned country. (As you say, sanctions such as this are politics and affect lots more than those who they are aimed at). What you can do: As said above , if it is a sanction block, then you should still be able to run your existing CCleaner when not connected to the internet. The cleaning functions will still work, but the other tools, and updates, may be blocked. You may also be blocked from downloading new versions until the sanctions are lifted.
  9. Confirmed, it just need the page updating, it is downloading ccsetup585.exe But Note also that the Portable on the builds page has not yet been updated and is still downloading ccsetup584.zip
  10. @Yahoody Your last post was just quotes of the previous posts, there is nothing new there?
  11. That would seem to say that Defender hasn't blocked CCleaner then, and you say you aren't running any other AV/AM that might do so. A virus/malware blocking CCleaner is a very, very, remote possibility, but is a possibility so I would run a scan with a good tool like Malwarebytes: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download Malwarebytes runs quite happily alongside Windows Defender to give extra protection, or turn off the 14 day trial and just use it for manual scans only. A bit of checking shows that you may have a different issue though. You appear to be in country that is normally supported by CCleaner, however that country was made subject to sanctions by the EU on 24th June 2021. Are you having any issues with other softwares that connect to the internet? Try disconnecting from the internet before running CCleaner and tell us if that works.
  12. That is usually a sign that an antivirus/antimalware is stopping CCleaner from running. (Especiallly if the Portable would not run). You did mention a Defender setting - but do you have any other AV/AM installed? 'Exceptions' where? Also - In the Defender Potentially unwanted app blocking does the 'Protection History' show that it's blocked anything CCleaner related?
  13. You need to use Custom Clean and untick 'Session' for Chrome, see the link below for more info: If you are using Custom Clean and it is removing your saved passwords then also untick 'Saved Passwords' and 'Saved Form Information' (You should normally have those unticked anyway). The page you are shown when you open a new tab is a setting in the browser itself, you can also get add-ons/extensions that give you more options of what is shown when you open a new tab.
  14. First question has to be have you double checked if you have your browser synced? If so then read that linked post again about syncing, if not read below. From a quick look: Sweetnitro is a games house - Football/rugby/touchdown/etc. manager games. (You have an account for that type of game that stores info of your teams and league position). So I guess you are getting that from playing a manager game, or possibly you have a live tile for that game, or possibly it has a background process like an updater running? The next is Amazon CloudFront - That doesn't mean you have been anywhere near Amazon itself; CloudFront a webserver used by billions of websites. Again any background app or live tile could be bringing that back. The next two are Facebook - guess where those are coming from. Anything running in the background that has a link to Facebook, or again a live tile. The next two are from Firebase, which is a Google development tool. That could be any website or app, you could check background processess and live tiles but without a name to help it's probably guesswork. The last one is Facebook again. Hopefully that gives you a clue what to start looking for. *(see below) Note that CCleaner will be cleaning them, but something is then putting them back. As there is more than one it's probably more than one something, but it could be just one background app. * If they are always coming back immediately after cleaning (and you are not syncing) that means that whatever is bringing them back must be active in some way. (Minimised apps, apps running in the background eg. for updates, or live tiles). First thing I'd do is if you have any live tiles on the start menu try turning them off. Right-click the tile, select More, select Turn Live Tile off. Next you can use Task Manager to see what is running in the background: Right-click anywhere on the taskbar and select Task Manager. (Click 'More Details' if it's only showing a small window). On the 'Processes' tab click on 'Name'. That will order the running apps/processes so you can see what is running in the background and hopefully spot the offender. * My guess is that game is running something in the background and is responsible for all 7 of those cookies. (All 7 look like they could well come from just one online game).
  15. It's files that have been emptied but are still there so are found again. Because they are always a set size CCleaner doesn't know if they are empty or not so always cleans them just in case they aren't empty. (Ccleaner itself also puts a couple of temporary files in that area so will always find something in there). See the link in my signature at the bottom of this post for a fuller explanation.
  16. Have a read of this link (just click on it to open) which explains the various reason why things come back after cleaning, and what you can do to stop (some not all of) it happening. https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/52668-tracking-files-not-cleaned-files-coming-back-solvedexplained/?tab=comments#comment-300043 Look towards the bottom of that post for explanations of where your particular cookies may be coming from: PS. If you can tell us what your particular cookies are we can probably tell you where they are coming from.
  17. Your screenshot shows the FREE version, and what's more a FREE version that is over a year old? The current CCleaner version is 5.84. Having said that the Free and Pro clean the same things. You have to close a browser to clean it properly. I think you may also have a missunderstanding of just what browser 'Trackers' are? (They are 'tracking cookies', they are not malware). Have a read of this, it's as simple as I could make it while still explaining things:
  18. Your first 2 screen shots are showing the RAM, 4GB. Before cleaning your active apps were using was 2.2GB with another 558 MB reserved. After Cleaning your active apps were using 2.3GB with 558 MB reserved. (Something, possibly CCleaner itself, had started using 0.1GB more of your RAM). Your other screenshots (in the cloud) show that you have 32GB of internal storage on the phone, of which 31.8GB is full. You also have an SD card with a usable capacity of 119.7GB of which 96.2GB is full. (Screenshot 6 shows that the best). Basically your phone's 32GB of internal storage is full to the brim, over 99.4% full. And as running apps save their cache's/temporary files there then not having any space for them to do that will be slowing everything down. So you need to move or delete some of it and free up a chunk of the internal storage. If you look at your screenshot 7 it shows you what is taking up that internal storage. By far the biggest is 'Other Apps' at 16GB. Then the System itself at 7.1GB. Then the Secure Folder at 4.5GB (4.4 of which is also 'Other Apps' as shown in screenshot 8). Then photos/videos at 2GB. So of you phones 32GB internal storage you have 20.4 of it full of 'Other Apps'. You also seem to have 8.04GB of 'Duplicate Files' (see screenshot 4). You might want to take a look at just what those 'Duplicate Files' are and remove (or move) them if possible? That should give you the space needed. I'm afraid though that to realy make a difference you are going to have to look at that 20.4GB of apps that you have installed, and uninstall/remove the ones that you don't use or need. Only you can decide which those are. Whilst CCleaner can delete junk files for you and clear up some space, doing that is not going to make much of a difference in this case. (Your internal storage is just too full for removing junk files to make much difference). And CCleaner is not going to remove your apps, or non-junk files - you would soon start shouting if it did.
  19. I'm afraid not with Health Check - it cleans what it cleans. (You can tell it not to clean certain things but you have to tell it every time). Health Check is meant as a quick way of cleaning for those who don't want to be bothered with setting things themselves. (It also does a check for out of date apps - some apps not all). However Custom Clean is much more customisable as the name says, you tell it what to clean or not. (And can even add 'Includes' to clean things it wouldn't normally. Cleaning the 'Session' for a browser is what causes you to be logged out of sites that you are logged into on that browser, so in Custom Clean you untick Session for that browser and Custom Clean then leaves the session information alone. Custom Clean will remember your settings and use them everytime, unless you change them again. eg. Here 'Session' is unticked for Firefox browser, so running a Custom Clean will leave the Firefox session information alone. (Whereas running Health Check will clear the Session information). Note that Health Check does not refer to those ticks/unticks, it always does it's own thing so will still clean the session information. You can set Custom Clean to be the default that CCleaner shows you by changing Options>Settings>CCleaner Home Screen to 'Custom Clean'.
  20. Not being a Mac user I'm not sure what the rest is about; But Big Sur is supported by CCleaner - it may be reported as OS 10 v16 though rather than OS 11. That's because Big Sur is both 10.16 and 11.## - a decision made by Apple for legacy software reasons.
  21. In not sure what attaching one tune is supposed to tell anyone? (And most people will not download an unknown attachment anyway, it could be anything so could be unsafe). If you 'KNOW' that the files are duplicates then they are probably not being found because of the search options that you have set for the Duplicate Finder. Can you give us an example of the duplicate path/filenames, their sizes, and their modified dates? (Just for one pair of duplicates will be enough). And then a screenshot of your duplicate finder options/settings similar to this one: (This searched C: Drive only for files with the same size and content, not searching for duplicate names or modified dates, and ignoring certain other criteria).
  22. Did you read the specifications before buying? Nowhere does it say that the Pro version can recover any more than the Free version can. The extras that you pay for with Pro are - Virtual Hard Drive Support, Automatic Updates, and Premium Support. ¿Leíste las especificaciones antes de comprar? En ninguna parte dice que la versión Pro puede recuperarse más que la versión gratuita. Los extras que paga con Pro son: soporte de disco duro virtual, actualizaciones automáticas y soporte premium.
  23. That is interesting, User profiles can become corrupted which can give strange problems, up to and including not being able to log into that account. Sometimes it can be fixed, sometimes is suggested to create a new Admin user and just delete the old corrupted one. (It's usually suggested when nothing else seems to be fixing strange issues). Take a look at this article: https://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-10/how-to-fix-a-corrupt-user-profile-in-windows-10/
  24. Nothing stands out as being odd there, so I'd try a shotgun approach. (not literally, shooting your computer will cause it to stop working). Although probably not related, I would check that your Norton 360 is up to date, we had another user recently who's Norton 360 was saying it was up to date when it wasn't. In Norton 360 the version number should be shown in Help>About https://www.nortonlifelockpartner.com/faq/art/how-do-i-check-the-version-of-my-norton-security-software-including-patch/ The latest version as of 20th August 2021 is 22.21.6.53 https://www.nortonlifelockpartner.com/faq/art/what-is-the-latest-version-of-norton-security/ If you can get into Edge then I would also try disabling those extensions to see if either of them is causing an issue. Particularly the video downloader. There is an 'always ongoing' war between Youtube and video downloaders that can have odd effects at times as Youtube change things to try and block people downloading. (Earlier this year just trying to watch Youtube would crash Edge Chromium for some people). Same with the homepage, temporarily change it to something else to see if that makes a difference. I'd run DISM, with the Restorehealth option, followed by sfc /scannow, just to be sure that the system image is OK. (DISM in particular can take some time). https://www.howtogeek.com/222532/how-to-repair-corrupted-windows-system-files-with-the-sfc-and-dism-commands/ You could also try booting Win 10 into 'Safe Mode with Networking' to see if Edge behaves itself there. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-10-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234 Sometimes though issues with Microsoft apps like Edge defy all efforts, until they suddenly start working properly again after a Windows Update.
  25. That's a question of how much RAM a device has as opposed to how much Data Storage it has. When your phone is saying 'storage full' it actually means that the RAM is full, not the Data storage. All computing devices have 2 types of memory. Data storage memory, which holds all your data, files, photos, downloads, apps, etc. RAM (Random Access Memory) which is what the system and apps use to store temporary data while they are running, they write and read things to and from RAM all the time that they are running. (Some app also 'reserve' RAM they are not actually using now but may want to use later). If you 'Restart' your phone (or computer) it will clear out whatever is in the RAM, the Data storage will not be cleared. (That's what CCleaner clears, the junk in Data storage). With most phones you can add SD cards to be able to store extra data, files, photos, etc. but you are not able to increase the physical RAM. As the running apps all use the RAM how many you can have running at once depends on how much RAM you have in that device. Plus newer versions of apps tend to need more RAM than older versions did. If you run more apps than the RAM can handle at once then the phone slows down or stops altogether. Which is why phones are sold with different amounts of RAM, for example the Samsung S20 comes with either 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM. The 16GB RAM version can run more apps at once than the 8GB or the 12GB. You pay your money and take your choice. The data storage on a S20 is much higher with options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, and you can add extra with a micro SD card, up to 1.5 TB. (Oddly the newer S21 does not have a card slot). With computers/laptops it is fairly easy to swap out the existing RAM chips for higher capacity RAM chips, but phone chips are made differently and you can't do that. With Android phones there are ways to use some of the data storage memory (or some of an SD cards memory) as extra RAM, but it involves 'Rooting' the phone which is a technical process. (And may void your warranty, although that's not usually a worry with an older phone). Also note that it doesn't work with all makes of phone. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/add-ram-android-device-microsd-card/ PS. On a practical side that might be of more help - I also have an old smartphone with only 2GB RAM. I only open apps when I'm using them and when I'm not I use the Task Manager to stop them running. (On my old Galaxy pressing the centre button opens the task manager and you just swipe running apps off the screen to close them). That way I never have more than 4 or 5 apps open/running at once and the 2GB RAM can cope with that. It's opening another, then another, then another, ...., without closing any and so leaving them all running in the background that takes up the RAM. (I've had friends ask me to look at why their phone is running slow and on looking they have had as many as 30 or 40 apps open at once using all the RAM).
