Unfortunately there are not many forum regulars here who use MAC, so there's a lack of knowledgable MAC users to help others. You see the same thing with Android. I'm not entirely sure just why that is? There are plenty of MAC users in the world, and when you consider phones and tablets there's even more Android users than Windows users. Perhaps that's the issue? Android users in particular tend to be simply users - and not so keen to dig into the workings of their respective devices and softwares the same as Windows users are?

How are you trying to cancel your subscription? ie. Where are you getting the URL? There is no difference to the Duplicate Finder in the Free and Pro versions. If it isn't finding what you want, and you are sure that there are duplictes to be found, then it will be in the way that you are setting the search parameters. Firstly there are the 'Match by' and 'Ignore' settings on the main interface. Then you can go further by specifying filetypes, wildcards etc. when you add/edit a pathname to search. For example if you have the 'Match by' to search for 'Modified date' then it will not find otherwise identical files with different dates. Or if you set it to search for 'Content' then it will not find 2 photos where one has been resized, or had say red-eye reduction applied, one has been modified so the contents are slightly different. One thing that can often be overlooked by new users is whether you have set the search path to look in subfolders or not. eg. if you have set it to search "E:\pictures\" and don't specify to search subfolders then it won't look in "E:\pictures\photos\", or "E:\pictures\holiday\", or any other subfolder, it will only compare the files that are saved in "E:\pictures" itself. If that isn't your issue then if you could tell us your settings, screenshots like above are good, we can try and work out what the problem might be.

If you are getting 'Process not responding' and other errors then there would seem to be something more than uninstalled leftovers going on. You might want to consider letting an expert have a look over your system and help you clean and fix it. You can get that done for free at various websites, as you are using Malwarebytes then I suggest there. Start a topic in the malware removal sub-forum at Malwarebytes, they will check for errors and unneeeded stuff as well as malware and will get your machine cleaned up. After looking at the logs you provide they will work with you to get it bak to normal and will often write you a file to run which will fix issues with your specific machine. They do not (usually) ask for remote access to your machine, they guide you through things with occasionally a clean up file to run if needed. From the MB log you clearly have related folders and files on your machine, some of them left over from the uninstalls. (3 of them are installer files which are used to install what you later uninstalled so wouldn't have been removed by the uninstall, the others are leftovers). The registry entries will be pointing to (at least some of) those. Which will be why CCleaner regards them as valid entries. CCleaner is not a malware removal tool, it's a junk file remover (with a couple of other maintanance tools). If the leftover entries look 'valid' then CCleaner will leave them alone. CCleaner can't/won't judge if any particular entry relates to malware or not. Your Malwarebytes log shows all the detections there as PUP's. PUP stands for Potentially Unwanted Programme - PUP's are not malware as such but something that you may not want on your machine, usually because it may be a security risk. Malwarebytes is just alerting you to the fact that you may not want to keep that software on your machine. (You may want to keep it, that's your choice). What you describe can have a couple of causes. I think you are probably seeing a known bug that can happen if you install CCleaner as a non-admin user. It's a permissions bug and they are working to fix it, but we have a workround. Install it again and this time when the installer wants to open CCleaner leave it ticked, click Finish and let CCleaner open. That does then set the required permissions for a non-admin user. CCleaner will (should) then work normally when you open it from the desktop. If that doesn't fix it for you then please come back and tell us if you have an Antivirus installed, what it is and what version number it is.

Not many programmes still use IE, and you would know if you had one. They are mainly software from big companies and organisations that haven't updated yet because of costs. (The last one I personally came across was a payment system for British Gas to top-up a pre-payment card, the device used to top up the cards could only connect via IE). I wouldn't bother about IE still being on your Windows machine, there's a lot of stuff on there which never gets used by most people. If you are truly paranoid about MS Windows then there are alternative Operating Systems: There's MAC of course if you want to buy a MAC computer. Linux has a very good following amongst technically minded users, it's open source and is free to install. Many old Windows XP machines have been given a new life by installing a Linux OS. (I had Linux Mint running on an old XP-Pro laptop for a while, until I upgraded it's RAM and installed Win 10). Many other apps, both Microsoft and 3rd party, use the IE temporary file locations to store their own temporary files. It's just a convienent place for temporary files that was always there, so why not use it? Even though IE is now discontinued those other apps still use it's temporary file locations to store their temporary files, and so CCleaner still clears those locations. PS. It's not at all unusual to still have IE on your machine, even with Windows 11. It doesn't usually show unless you go looking for it. If you do try to use it it will tell you that you should use Edge instead.

What crashes? CCleaner or the computer? Roughly how far does the analyze progress (or how long) before there is a crash? Could you give more details such as: CCleaner version. Windows version Drive type and size (ie. is it a HDD or a SSD, how many GB/TB)

The voice mails will be stored by your Visual Voice Mail provider on their servers. They will not be saved on your phone - so you can't recover them from your phone because they are not there to recover. You need to talk to your Visual Voice Mail provider about getting acces to them.

Good that you found what it was. The computer going to sleep would tend to throw a spanner in the works. This morning I actually wiped the free space on that 1TB HDD in my screenshot. (it's the old OS drive from this laptop which I've since replaced with the SSD, I'd been thinking of doing it anyway). There was just over 700 GB of freespace on it and it took CCleaner 2-1/2 hours to wipe that freespace. That appears to be a limitation on how fast CCleaner can write to it, a Macrium Reflect image backup will write to it 5 or 6 times faster. (ie. during the wipe CCleaner was writing at 80-90 Mbps, Macrium writes an image backup at 500-600 Mbps).

Firstly - If you can then backup your files to another disk. It's always good to make regular backups. That way if something goes wrong with the disc or computer (or if you get something like ransomware) you can easily get your files back from the backup disk. For now lets assume that it's an HDD, we will see which it is shortly. (Step #3 below should tell you). Have you defragmented the drive recently? Use the built in Windows 'Defragment and Optimise Drives'. Click the Windows icon to open the start menu and start typing the word Defragment. A window will pop open from which you can select the 'Defragment and Optimise Drives', click it to run. You will see buttons saying 'Analyse" and "Optimise" - If you drive is an SSD then "Analsze" will be greyed out and you will only have the option to "Optimise". (It also tells you in the main panel what type of drive it is). In the main panel it will say what the status of the drive is, and if it's a HDD you can see how many percent fragmented it is. Click Optimise to defragment a HDD, it will take time to do that. (If it's a SSD it will only take seconds to Optimise, it's a different process). Optional but recommended - I would then Restart the computer, that's clicking on Restart and not Shut down. This screenshot shows both types of drive, (It says 'Never run' and '0%fragmented' for the HDD because I've only just plugged it in so would need an Analyse to find how fragmented it is). Next: I would use chkdsk to check the disk - and fix it if needed. There are a few different ways to run chkdsk. After doing both of the above then that should have ruled out problems with the disk itself.

Are you using Drive Wiper, or using Wipe Free Space in Custom Clean? How many passes are your using? One pass is sufficent. What size is your drive? A wipe of a TB drive will take longer than a GB sized drive. How much free space is there? What type of drive is it? HDD or SSD? It's always a good idea to say what Windows version you have, and if you have a 3rd party AV installed. AFAIK CCleaner hasn't changed it's free space wiping in any way. (I used Drive Wiper a week ago on an external drive and it ran as expected in the time I expected). If something has changed for you then you might want to run chkdsk to check the drive itself.

Winbio.dll going missing is a Windows system problem. If it's got corrupted or gone missing then it can stop software from installing or running. You can usually fix it by running System File Checker (SFC), but sometimes you need to reinstall winbio.dll. I don't know just what the issue is with MS Office. But we are seeing a few reports of this now which shows that something is going wrong for a few CCleaner users who have MS Office. As it does seem to be an 'edge case' with up to now only a handful of users affected it's going to be a question of finding out what those few users have in common on their setups and in their usage. In this particular case though since the MS Office is 2013 which is coming to EoL in the next few months, then as I said above it's time to replace it anyway and so I'd be looking at the alternatives that you can get for free. You need to use the Upgrade option on the CCleaner Android and select the 'Use an Activation Code' option on the 3-dot menu. You should not have a problem with CCleaner's Driver Updater - it does not automatically update any drivers. CCleaners Driver Updater will not run unless you click on it and then scan/update your drivers. Don't click on it and it will never run. CCleaners Driver Updater will only update drivers if you tell it to do so in the CCleaner Pro version, it will not update drivers in the CCleaner Free version. If something is updating your drivers automatically then it is not CCleaner. It might be Windows Update, or it might be some other Driver Updater that you have installed. (Maybe accidentally?). Just to add - You might see automatic Software Updates with CCleaner though: The Software Updater will run automatically if you are using Health Check in the CCleaner Pro version.* The Software Updater will not run automatically if you use Custom Clean in the CCleaner Pro version. The Software Updater will not update anything in the CCleaner Free version. The Software Updater can also be run manually at any time from the 'Tools' menu, but it will not update any softwares in CCleaner Free ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * If Health Check in CCleaner Pro finds Software to update then it will tell you so in the 'Security' box. If it does find something than you can click on that box to see what it has found, and untick the update if you don't want it yet. You will have to untick it every time that you run Health Check. TBH I am not sure just how that unticking works if you have Health Check set to run on a schedule. (I might try to test that later).

I had discounted the Avira issue because it affects more than just Office, and it only seems to be office that is affected here. That message during the re- install of Office is interesting. It suggests that the key you have is a valid key, but is for a different version of Office 2013. Did the key come with the CD or did you get it from elsewhere? (Where did the CD come from?). That's probably a question that only Microsoft could solve. Although you could try finding 'Office Professional Plus 2013' installer online and seeing if you can install/activate that with the key you have? Just to note that I don't use MS office myself, (I haven't had MS office for 11 years). I use Softmaker Free Office which is fully compatible. If it turns out that you can't get MS Office 2013 reinstalled for whatever reason then Softmaker (Free or paid for) is a very good alternative, you will hardly notice any difference to MS Office and it will work with your existing files. Just to be sure here; are we talking only about Smart Cleaning? There a a number of things in CCleaner that can launch in the background at startup. eg. Smart Cleaning, Scheduling, Automatic updating, Performance Optimser, and of course Run a clean at startup. A few more questions to help us work out what may be happening: Could you say what is happening, or not happening, that makes you say that Smart Cleaning is not running, eg. are you getting an error message? Is anything CCleaner running in the background? Task Manager should show if there is a CCleaner background task running. Could you tell us (or screenshot) your settings for Smart Cleaning, and possibly for the others I mentioned? Are you using your computer from an Admin account or as a Standard user? Are you using a 3rd party Antivirus? If so which one and what version number is it? The answers to those should help us work out what may be happening/not happening for you and hoe to fix it.
