  1. @Craig Dog I have now been able to replicate the new screen that you are seeing. It shows for me in CCleaner Pro if I am offline, or if the servers can't be reached for some other reason, when I run a Health Check scan.* Before seeing that, but after the scan, the screen says - 'Somethings not right but we can fix the issues we were able to find'. So it's just letting you know that it might have been able to do more if it could reach the server(s). That 'more' would be checking if there were any updates for your installed software. *PS The only way I can (reliably) get it to show those messages is to open CCleaner whilst online, and then go offline before running the scan.
  2. Macrium R.E. booting OK here from the dual boot menu following the update. (Updated OK on both my laptops with no 403 errors). I already have a USB but am wondering if the changes in the update mean a new USB now needs to be. or should be, written as well. I probably will when I get round to it. (I don't have the dual boot set on my second laptop so can do it from there).
  3. 'They' are the CCleaner programme developers. (The same ones who call themselves 'We' in that new message). As for the wording I wouldn't bother about it, it's just saying that it finished. It's only words, it might just as easily say 'Finished Cleaning', or 'Cleaning Complete', or any one of a thousand different phrases. But it is more accurate isn't it? Your PC is a machine, it doesn't have any feelings good or bad.
  4. My misunderstanding of what you were asking about then, sorry. They do like to play about with the screens and wording in Health Check. I think that what you are seeing is probably related to this from the last version release notes: https://www.ccleaner.com/knowledge/ccleaner-v6-18-10838 That 'to more users' tells me that not everybody got this, and explains why I'm not seeing that new wording:
  5. Just to note that Health Check now respects the 'Cookies to Keep' as well. It even has a way to set them up from within Health Check. Do a Scan in Health Check and then click Privacy, then 'Manage allowed websites' You then get this screen where you can add websites, or even the whole of your Bookmarks list, to the Cookie Allowlist. Note that once cookies are added from here then Custom Clean will leave them alone as well. The Cookie Allowlist works in both Health Check and Custom Clean. Note - You should still use Options>Cookies if you want finer control of individual cookies.
  6. They have taken those bundlers out of the Speccy (and Recuva, and Defraggler) installers, but you appear to have got an old installer from somewhere, Presumably from a link on another forum or website. Speccy is now at version 1.32 so I'm not too surprised that an old v1.29 installer would still have the bundler in it. Download the installer for the latest Speccy v1.32 version from here and Defender won't have a problem with it: https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/builds PS. Defender is not saying that the bundler in the v1.29 installer is malware just that is a Potentially Unwanted Application. Potentially - you may not want/need it, but you might do. PPS. If you did get the v1.29 installer from a forum/website then you might want to let them know that their link is out of date.
  7. You don't like Health Check, that's fair enough and you are not alone in that. But you still have the choice to use the 'Old Style' CCleaner if that's what you prefer. Set CCleaner to open to Custom Clean by default (instead of opening to Health Check) and run Custom Clean with one click, Custom Clean is what CCleaner was before Health Check came along.
  8. Hi Craig Dog, I think you have a common misunderstanding of just what CCleaner is/does: (It's partly because of the wording that they use these days). CCleaner is NOT an antivirus application. CCleaner cleans up junk files, it also cleans up things like cookies and browser history (for privacy). It includes a few other tools that some users find handy, (and some never use). CCleaner cannot even recognise malware or a dodgy website - it isn't designed to do that. So when it says "We've cleaned up what we could" it is talking about junk files, cookies, history, etc. - it is not talking about malware. CCleaner is your refuse disposal, it is not your security guard. Your AV and your Malwarebytes are your security guards. PS. Just out of interest where exactly are you seeing that "We've cleaned up what we could" message? I assume that it is probably in Health Check in CCleaner Free. (I can't get mine to show it, but that's probably because of different settings. You get different messages in different circumstances).
  9. @redwolfe_98 that will be Options>Settings> Run a clean with Custom Clean when the computer starts. When set it does a Custom Clean on Boot/Restart and the CCleaner icon flashes in the System Tray while it is cleaning, once it's finished the icon stops flashing and goes away. If you have an icon in the tray all the time, that isn't flashing, then that's usually because of Smart Cleaning or Automatic Updating.
  10. Just to be clear about what you are seeing - Are you meaning that the CCleaner window opens? If so then is it showing any message box? Or just that there is an icon in the System Tray? If it is an icon in the tray then is it flashing? Or possibly you are seeing something else?
  11. You will need to contact support to ask why your licence has been deactivated, the forum cannot access licence details. You can use the form here to raise your request: https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general Or you can email them directly: support@ccleaner.com Please be aware that support are very busy at the moment and although you will get a ticket number when using the form, and an acknowlegement email, it's taking much longer that usual for a person to reply. Please also note that as it tells you in the email opening another ticket may put you back down the queue and so further delay the response. (That's just the way that the queueing system works). This gives the most common reasons why accounts may show as 'deactivated', but there are others: https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/63688-autumn-sale/#comment-339311
  12. Your licence key is valid 'per-device' - 1, 3, or 5 devices depending on which licence type you bought - so can be transferred from one machine to another as long as the licenced number of devices is not exceeded. It isn't something that you should do often; but of course people do get new machines and transferring the licence in those circumstances is accepted. So say you have a CCleaner Pro licence for one device, and you get a new one. You can put CCleaner on the new device and use your existing key to register it as Pro, but you should then remove CCleaner Pro from the old device. Of course you can then put CCleaner Free version on the old device if wanted. The other option would be to upgrade to a 3, or 5, device licence so that you can have CCleaner Pro on that many devices.* You can do that without losing the remaining time on your existing licence, in fact that remaining time also becomes valid for multiple devices. If there are less than 90 days remaining on the existing licence, and you use the same email address when buying a new multi device licence, then that should happen automatically after a day or two and the time remaining will get added to the time on the new licence. If there are more than 90 days left, or if you use a different email, then you contact support, ask them for a 'licence merge' and they will do it manually. *If you are considering upgrading from a single to a multi device licence then it's probably best to contact support and ask about an upgrade, they may/will often be able to offer a discount on the price. PS. They do run checks that licences are not being used on more machines than they should be.
  13. The key will be functional, just not at the moment for some reason - so that needs investigating and fixing. It looks like the issue might be at the licencing server end, we have seen others get that "Alpha (0XAB000003)" error on registrations before. If it is a problem at the server then it needs to be fixed at the server. The CCleaner staff have been alerted that you are having this problem registering.
  14. Thanks for reporting @Bastet, Activation key and Cleverbridge ref no. have been redacted.
  15. As you already have a ticket number then a support person will reply to you, but they are very busy so it may take a few days. Please do not send any more emails until a support person does reply to you, sending more emails can cause the response to be further delayed.
  16. It cross checks all drives/paths that you have selected. I'll often use it to check between 2 different drives for files on one that may also be duplicated on the other. PS. Your G: drive is actually the local copy of Google Drive cloud storage (so that you can still access the files if/when offline) but files deleted from the local copy will also be deleted from Google Drive itself, They should however stay in the 'Trash' at Google Drive for 30 days, which could be handy to know if you make a mistake.
  17. When setting up those paths to search did you set it to search in sub-folders as well as just the drive path itself? It's a commonly forgotten step. Are all your images jpg's? You might also want to use "*jpg;*.jpeg" in the File Types box, and maybe some other common image formats. However I suspect that it is your 'Match by' settings that may be the issue here. When I am searching for duplicate images I do it only by 'Size' and 'Content'. (and Size isn't really needed because that is implied by Content). Name and Date can be different for otherwise identical images. (Also 'Photo-1' in one folder may not be the same as 'Photo-1' in another folder). Note that CCleaners Duplicate Finder only finds Exact duplicates for what you have set it to match. Different resolutions of the same image are not an exact match. An image that has been cropped or edited (eg. red-eye reduction) is not an exact match of the original. If I want to find such similar, but not identical, images then I will use VisPics and/or Awesome. Both look a bit dated but each does a good job. Both are Free. (Other duplicate finders are available, either paid or free). In either you can set the level of how 'similar' images should be to be considered duplicates. They are much, much, slower that CCleaners Duplicate Finder - you would expect that when looking for 'similar' images, but they are slower even when set to find only exact duplicates. For that reason I use CCleaner first for exact duplicates, then one or both of the others if I want to find 'similar' images. https://visipics.info/ https://www.duplicate-finder.com/photo.html
  18. That's just as I said - CCleaner does not close a browser by default. it asks first. (Unless you have told it never to ask again - in which case it still doesn't close the browser by default but "Skips" cleaning it). What the OP is asking for is an option so that CCleaner force-closes browsers by default (without asking) each and every time it is run. If there was such an option then users would set CCleaner to force-close browsers, (often without thinking just what that means) , forget that they had set it, and then complain that CCleaner kept closing their browsers without asking first. If you think that is unlikely to happen then you only have to consider how may people tick "Never show me this message again", (without thinking what that means), forget they have set it, and then complain that CCleaner keeps Skipping their browsers without asking first. That's exactly what this thread is actually about - the skipping of cleaning a still running browser (Edge) without asking, which is happeneng because the user had ticked "Never show me this message again". If they hadn't ticked that message at some point then they would still be being asked. The main point here though is that it is not CCleaner that needs to be fixed or changed - it's Edge that is faulty and needs to be fixed. If Edge was respecting it's own settings then the rest of this discussion would not have arisen in the first place.
  19. I understand what you are saying but CCleaner has never let you force close any browser as the default option. If it did that then this forum would be full of people complaining that CCleaner had closed their browser without asking first.
  20. You can already specify addditional paths and files to be cleaned by Custom Clean, wildcards can be used. eg. selecting 'File Types>All Files' as below will add the wildcard '*.*' to your specified/selected pathname.
  21. You need to contact support and ask them to cancel it for you: https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general
  22. The block is an internationally imposed sanction on certain areas because of the ongoing situation in Ukraine. Which areas are subject to the sanctions is a matter that politicians decide. Companies are told that certain areas are sanctioned and that they should not sell or distribute products there.
  23. That's great, chkdsk, sfc, and possibly DISM were going to be the step-by-steps. They are the three go-to 'fixing commands' for Windows. One for your disk drive, the other 2 for Windows System itself. PS. you are well on the way to being a techie now that you know how to use them. (Some of us run chkdsk and sfc every few months or so, they do sometimes find and repair errors even when you aren't seeing a problem). Thanks for letting us know that it was Brave that was the issue. Brave does include extra blocking for certain things, so it may not like something that has been added in the latest CCleaner version and be blocking it? The software updater tool in CCleaner has just been changed so it may be something to do with that? If that is the case then I'm sure that we will hear more about it from other Brave users, so the possibility is good to know. We don't normally close threads, someone else may want to chime in or ask more about the same issue.
  24. OK. That nessage indicates that it may be a problem with Windows rather than a security block. It usually isn't serious, we all see those troubleshooting messages now and again. We can walk you through some basic troubleshooting if you would like? (Might be tomorrow though, it's evening here).
