  1. I think it has an terrible user interface. As far as performance I can't say anything bad about it and the people I know that use it have no problems. If AVG didn't exist I would probaly be using Avast.
  2. Yeah but wouldn't the Google Tool Bar still update to the newest version? Mine is 3.0.20070217W
  3. That is strange. I have the newest Google Tool bar for Firefox and Safe Browsing is no longer a feature becasue it's built into Firefox 2.
  4. It seems every update is in the 20mb range. You know from Micrsoft's history that they will update your rear off. Imagine in a years time the size of the browser. Firefox updates are patches that don't seem to increase the size of the browser. IE updates are huge addons to the browser. Almost 100 Mb is stupid for a browser and they are not finished by any means.
  5. Well I started this thread on Feb 18 2007 and as of now IE7 is just shy of 100 mb in size. They are just getting started with this piece of $hit. This last update installed at over 20 mb.
  6. OK that makes sense. I thought maybe I missed some updates but I didn't.
  7. Even so it skipped 2.0.0.1 , 2.0.0.2, 2.0.0.3. I have never seen Firefox do this and they are both Mozilla. Anyways I will update as always.
  8. Well I have no problem with Firefox and RAM usage or speed. It uses as much/little as most of my browsers. As for "phone home" I have disabled auto updates for my extensions. I check manually. Edit: I know the Ad Block Plus extension checks for updates to the ad filters every 5 days or so.
  9. How did it go from. 2.0 to 2.0.0.4?
  10. CCleaner will clean ALL your Opera cookies. So any sites you have logged into, like forums or banking, you will have to log in again. CCleaner doesn't let you save some Opera cookies from being cleaned, it's all or nothing. CCleaner does let let you save IE and Firefox cookies but not Opera yet.
  11. Did you notice any performance difference with your computer after using the new version of JK Defrag compared to the older version?
  12. I still use it and it works well. Gives you a snap shot of all files/folders added /removed as well as reg entries added/removed.
  13. Never mind I see what he did. I wasn't sure what I was looking at there but I am OK now
  14. No I wasn't aware of the "spacehogs". I will update when Ewieldra updates the GUI.
  15. Speaking of learning something new every day how do you get that folder view in the screen shots? Every time you click a folder a sub folder opens in a tree view. When I click on a folder the sub folders open up but the the main folder is not visible. I have to go back to see it. I looked through explorer options and folder views but I don't see an option to change this. Are you using Windows explorer or some other program to manage your files?
  16. My thinking exactly. I am using the GUI version 0.7 and it works absolutely perfect for me. None of the so called improvements in the newer versions are anything I would use so I see no reason to update. If it it ain't broke don't fix it.
  17. Yeah that is a hassle though. They are going to be adding a plugin for Firefox and Opera and be including an option to disable the IE plug in if you want. Apparently there is already a plugin out for Firefox but it requires some configuring. Look at their forum there is a few threads about it. Do you notice when Foxit opens a PDF in IE that many options/features are missing compared to when you Open Foxit alone in another window? Like full screen and the annotation tools?
  18. These updates are getting ridiculous.
  19. I use Foxit to view PDF files. I like how it opens out side the browser for Firefox and Opera. In IE7 and opens in the browser. I hate this. You don't get the same features this way. Many tool bar buttons and features that are available in Foxit when you view a file out side the browser and directly in Foxit are not there when you have Foxit open in the browser. I have gone over to the Foxit forum and registered but there is a wait while your registration is moderated so I can't get any answers over there yet. Is there a way to stop IE7 from opening PDF files directly in the browser with Foxit. I want to click on a link and have it launch Foxit in a separate window like it does in Firefox and Opera. I was searching the Foxit forum for this and it's a joke. There is the side that wants browser integration and don't have it for Firefox and Opera. Than there is the side that don't want browser integration and want to disable it in IE. Foxit comes with IE integration but not Firefox or Opera.
  20. OK, I get it. Personally I really like Gmail, Google Tool Bar, Google Bookmarks, Google Maps, and of course Google search.
  21. I am confused. Did you post in the wrong thread
  22. I used it for a few hours and found it to be very boring and basic. I think it was made that way intentionally for people that like the minimalist approach to things. One feature I did like was the Snap Back feature. Lets you mark a page for Snap Back so no matter where you navigate to all you have to do is click an icon in the address or search bar and you snap back to that page. If you like Opera, Firefox, Maxthon, or even IE7 you will find this browser very lacking in features.
  23. Yeah but I don't even get the little e in place of a favicon. I get an ugly square thing.
  24. I do not get favicons in IE7. I don't even get the generic "e" icon. I get an ugly square icon. This is happening on tabs and the address bar. Anybody know why this is happening? It has happened since day one with IE7. Never really cared but I am trying out IE7 with IE7 Pro and it is annoying me now that there is no favicons.
  25. Yeah I just use Gmail. It's almost 3 gigs now for storage. If I need multiple accounts I just create more Gmail accounts. I don't see the point in having multiple accounts with multiple providers and as you now know Gmail is very simple to set up in Thunderbird.
