  1. Two features that I really like in Opera that Firefox does not have an extension for is Fit to Width and Zoom. From what I have read Firefox isn't capable of these even if some one wanted to make an extension for them. The high quality zoom that Opera has is supposed to be coming in Firefox 3 but I haven't heard anything about Fit to Width. Opera is the only browser I know of that has this feature.
  2. Or do what I did and tell the PC Manufacturer, in my case Dell, that you don't want crap installed on your PC. If they don't agree tell them to shove the PC up their a$$. My Dell laptop came with none of that junk. I had to argue with them and listen to their total BS but I literally told them if they didn't agree to my demands they could shove the lap top up their a$$. I got what I wanted and don't care for one second if they like it or not.
  3. I have installed both your Easy List and Easy Element Filter in ABP and working great so far.
  4. Yeah but looks cool at 3:00 in the morning.
  5. That's what I get for posting at 3:00 in the morning after watching bands all night. I didn't even notice that. Still a very neat extension though. I probably won't keep it because after a few hours of saying "wow that's cool" to myself it really doesn't do much. Maybe I will keep it installed but disabled until there are people around than I will turn it back on so they can say "wow that's cool" for an hour or so than disable it again.
  6. Installed this new Firefox extension today. This thing is very cool. It's called Tab Effect. When you click on a tab to activate it your screen rotates like a cube to show the tab. You have to see it to understand. It's pure eye candy, doesn't really add any functionality but it's very cool. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4258
  7. Yes I agree. I was just pointing out that the update process is different in Opera than Firefox and why it might be an issue with some. I update Firefox every time and have no problems as of yet but skipping updates with FX isn't really an option for the reasons I stated earlier. Since this thread is about FX updates I just thought I'd mention it.
  8. Some updates cause more problems than their worth. Every time there is an update I check out the Firefox forums and there are hundreds of threads about people having major problems. I haven't yet though.
  9. It seems to me there are more problems with Firefox updates than Opera. Also you can't really just skip an update in Firefox and than update later to the current version. Lets say you are using 2.0.0.3 like I am. When 2.0.0.4 comes out if I decide to skip it I can't just update to 2.0.0.5 when it comes out. In Opera you could because each version is a full version of the browser. I often skip Opera updates if nothing significant is in the new version and my current version is working well (if it isn't broke why fix it). Than several versions later when a new feature is introduced that I would like I update. Skipping the previous updates doesn't cause a problem because the updates are full versions. Can't get away with that in Firefox. You would need to do a clean install or go find the updates you missed and install them in proper order. This has been my experience.
  10. Opera really doesn't have updates like Firefox or IE. The Opera updates are full versions of the browser. So if you select "check for updates" from the help menu in Opera and it detects one you will be down loading and installing a full version of Opera over your current version. In Firefox the updates are patches not full versions of the browser.
  11. Well I installed Easy List and the Easy Element Filter and it works very well.
  12. I noticed you are from the USA? Why were you using the non English subscriptions. Do you visit many non english sites? Or do they block English adds to?
  13. Well the only one there I can really use is Easy List because the others are not English.
  14. Doesn't the Easy Element subscription do the same thing? It's by the same person that made the Easy List subscription and is supposed to remove the stuff that Easy List doesn't like the spaces left behind and text adds. http://easylist.adblockplus.org/easylist-element.htm
  15. What filter subscriptions are Ad Block Plus users recommending here? Ad block Plus does not recommend the use of Filterset.G http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_project#filterset.g
  16. Ozzy always has an awesome guitar player with him. Iommi, Rhodes, now Wilde. Wonder how much Ozzy actually writes.
  17. I would love to see the original guys from GNR (especially Izzy) get back together if Axle can keep his $hit together. Axle wrecked that band. Izzy wouldn't even travel with them near the end there. Izzy was traveling by bus.
  18. I am not a fan of Velvet Revolver even though I am a huge GNR fan. Slash can play but his writing ability is way overrated. Notice who did most of the writing of the big songs for GNR? It was Izzy. When he left after the Use your Illussion CD's GNR was done. Never released anything worth crap again. That singer from STP is as messed up as Axle is/was you would think Slash and Duff and the boys would learn to stay away from singers with LSD (lead singer disease).
  19. That's what they claim but it didn't work for me with Norton Internet Security 2005. Left all kinds of garbage behind.
  20. I get a kick out of the debates about which browser is the best. Go to the Opera forum or Firefox forum and there are all kinds of threads as to which is best and why. People talk like they have to pick one or the other. Opera and Firefox are both very good and I have both on all my machines (actually have to versions of Opera) and use both all the time. There are things I like about Opera that FX doesn't have and things I like about FX that Opera doesn't have. Use them both they are free and very good. One thing that is not debatable is that IE is crap.
  21. IE7 is just sad. Took MS 5 or 6 years to develop a total peice of junk. How can MS not be totally embarrassed at releasing this thing when there are free browsers that are hundreds of times better. I mean IE7 isn't free. You must have a legit version of Windows (which you have to pay for) before you can infect your machine with IE7. Firefox and Opera are so far ahead of IE7 it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Ford Focus with 4 flat tires and a blown engine. The Ferrari is free and the trashed Focus is not. What car would you pick?
  22. SAS and A-squared also have a right click scan.
  23. A new extension I just started using is called Tab Scope. Basically when you hover the cursor over the tab a pop up preview of the tab appears. The size is totally configurable and the pop up is active meaning you can navigate within it and select links and such. Similar to the tab preview in Opera 9 but better. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4882
  24. After you install the extension and the menu collapses into one button you need to drag all the icons from the navigation bar to the menu bar. Once you do that you shut off the navigation bar and you get a tool bar set up like the screen shot. That is how I have it also.
  25. Hey I totally agree My point is this crap is forced on a lot of people by the PC companies. It's a sore spot with me.
